About this listing
Studio 30m², renovated, bright, 2 minutes from the metro station of Belleville. The flat is perfect for one or two people, friends or a couple. Lively area, all shops nearby, very well served by public transport.
The apartment has a living room, an open bedroom with a double bed, a fully-equipped kitchen and a bathroom. All rooms, except the bathroom are naturally lighted during the day by three big double windows.
It is fully furnished, with fresh towels and sheets. Wifi internet access and phone calls to landline numbers in USA and Europe are included. There is a fan for the summer.
The living room has a cozy convertible couch that can be used as a regular bed for an additional person, and a dining table. The bedroom is right next to the living area, separated just by a wall. It has a double-bed (and a new mattress, 140X190cm), a wardrobe (a part of which you can use) and a small desk.
The kitchen is open to the living room. It is small but functional (fridge, 2 hotplates, oven/microwave, small coffee maker, blender, as well as dishes, pans etc.). The same goes for the bathroom. There is a walk-in shower and a washing machine.
The apartment is located on the 5th floor in an old building on the side of the street. Unfortunately there is no elevator.
The apartment is centrally located in Belleville, close to shops, restaurants and bars. There are also many supermarkets and bakeries and two open markets two times a week (Thursday and Saturday boulevard de la Villette, Tuesday and Friday boulevard de Belleville). There is also a swimming pool 5 minutes walk away accessible to the public.
Belleville is a very lively, popular and multi-ethnic neighborhood. You can enjoy a typical Parisian day out by having your coffee or a glass of wine in the local cafés. These are very popular among the people of Paris continuing a tradition that goes back in the days of Edith Piaf (she used to live in the area and sing in Follies, a nearby local bar that deserves a visit). You can also walk in the narrow and beautiful streets of Belleville all the way up to the ‘Park de Belleville’ (15mins walk), visit young artists’ galleries. If you want to explore this part of Paris more, you can go to the picturesque and animated district of Menilmontant, have a snack or a picnic at the park of Belleville or at the park 'des Buttes-Chaumont’ (15mn walk), or visit the trendy bars of canal st. martin and Obercampf (10mn).
Belleville metro station is served by two lines (2 and 11). Both lead to main tourist attractions and commercial/high street places (‘Le Marais’ and ‘Chatelet’ 10mn, ‘Gare du Nord’ 15-20mn, ‘Père-Lachaise’, ‘Montmartre’, ‘Champs Elysées’).
If you like cycling there are two Velib stations right next to the metro station.
Other things to note
Feel free to read any of my magasines or books, just try to leave all things where you found them.
In case you are staying for more than 3 days, watering the few plants would be deeply appreciated.
Smoking is allowed but I don't smoke, so do your best to ventilate when and if you smoke and please be careful not to cause any damages to the furniture, floor etc.
Given that cleaning costs are not included in the price, I would appreciate it if you leave the flat in a good condition (no dirty toilets and bath, no dirty dishes/pans/cups, no stains on the couch/on the bed/on the walls).
Cancel up to 5 days before your trip and get a full refund, including service fees.
I have studied archaeology and architecture and I am currently working as an architect in Paris. When I have free time, I like being with good friends, going to the cinema and traveling (during which I rent my apartment). Having stayed in Paris for several years, I can give you several tips and information about the city and the neighborhood.
