Southern California’s Urban Waterfront Playground, is just 20 miles from downtown Los Angeles, located along more than 11 miles of sandy beachfront, inland waterways and bays. One of the West Coast’s largest cities with a downtown waterfront.
"Home Share" Welcome to Downtown Long Beach "Urban Living" My home is approximately 1,800 SF, a two story modern loft (Town home Style) in Downtown Long Beach adjacent to East Village, steps from the Blue Line (Your Los Angeles-Hollywood Connection.) Walking distance to everything including the beach and beach bike path ( I have basic beach equipment including boogie boards, towels and coolers.) Or bring your own roller blades and kites.
Your private room is set-up with a deluxe queen size full depth (double depth (18")) Aerobed.
Walk to the Pike, Convention Center, Pine Street, Berlin, Starbucks, Beach and other local eateries and shops. Free local transit gets you to other dynamic areas of the City..i.e. Belmont Shores and the Queen Mary.
Home Share - Private Room, Semi Private Space (This is a loft) shared bath, inside garage private parking is reserved for you. Washer/Dryer, Wi-Fi, Apple TV, Net Flicks, FiOS and large screen TV is included.
Depending on your schedule I'll fix you breakfast or leave things out for you.
The Los Angeles area is spread out, off peak Long Beach is 1/2 hour from Downtown LA (22 miles.) Traffic is a way of life in our two counties (Orange and Los Angeles County.) During peak traffic figure 3 mins per mile (aka 20 miles per hour.) I always going into LA (Downtown, Hollywood or Universal Studios) by train which is 1/2 block from my house. It takes me 45 minutes to an hour by train...
Keep in mind Los Angeles County is the most populous county in the USA with almost 10 million people in 88 cities over 4,200 square miles. No matter where you stay you will be challenged by traffic, 7 of the Top 10 most congested freeways in all of America are in Los Angeles County (the other 2 are in the San Francisco Bay Area and 1 in New York-yea NY..I'm and ex-New Yorker.)
Long Beach is a great gateway to Huntington Beach (surf city) and Disney Land and by train into LA, Hollywood and Universal Studios. Santa Monica and Venice Beach is a large drive because of traffic.
We have 1 small Min Pin she hangs out downstairs under the stairs or in our room. My partner is allergic to cats. We can't host travelers with cats, sorry ;(

Overall a very pleasant and welcoming stay. This was our first time using airbnb!!
Host met us at parking garage and gave us a brief tour of his place and the room. The room is very private and big and everything was very clean. The Aerobed was surprisingly very firm and comfortable with clean sheets.
Wendell is a very accommodating host and would recommend this stay to anyone!
Wendell was a great host, he gave us a tour of the house and told us everything we needed to know about the area. The room was very comfortable and overall everything we hoped for. Would definitely consider booking the room again next time I go to SoCal!
This was our first bnb experience. I was nervous to stay at someone's house but Wendell was very welcoming. We were running later than we thought and he said don't rush. When we got there he met us outside and showed us where to park. He then took us to his place and gave us a tour and showed us our room and everything we could use. He was very friendly. The room was perfect. There was a separate entrance so we could come and go as we pleased. We only stayed for one night as we were heading on a cruise the next day. He gave us some ideas of where to eat the next morning and everything was in walking distance which was nice and convenient.
Wendell's place was great. Room was exactly as described and the air mattress was the most comfortable one we've ever slept on! We were only there one night but we definitely enjoyed our stay. The bathroom was amazing too. I recommend Wendell's place if you're planning a little vacation in Long Beach! My husband and I were able to take a nice stroll the next morning to "Retro Row" for vintage store shopping and breakfast then rested on the comfortable bed while watching TV before we checked out in the afternoon. We really appreciated how flexible Wendell was with our arrival and departure times. Thanks for the hospitality, Wendell!
What a great host- Wendell was extremely flexible to accommodate my schedule and made me feel very welcome from the start. Beyond his wonderful personality, the accommodations Wendell offers are private (a separate entry to a second floor room), well-maintained and even luxurious. Whether he is offering you breakfast or a room to just get some sleep, Wendell is an immaculate host; most defiantly would revisit again!
You know what's the worst thing about travelling? Not knowing what you're gonna get. Well, with Wendell, the pictures he's taken are accurate. The description he's given is accurate too. And there's no need to embellish the neighbourhood b/c it's just a cool artsy area. My teenage daughter and I took the Metro (1/2 blk distance) in to L.A. and though it was a bit of a ride, we never felt threatened or anything - actually people were quite friendly (yeah, I know, who'da thunk it!) Thanks Wendell, we also appreciate the quick responses!
Our host met my sister and I at his front door and led us to the available parking. He showed us the room, bathroom, and kitchen. He was pleasant and polite. The room was roomy and the bed was comfortable.
