The description of the room was fine, and for one person perfect. I even had a hairdryer in one of the drawers, that was a good treat. Carmel was very kind to send info ahead. A very kind host, thank's for the stay!
Carmel is very friendly and I enjoyed my stay in her place. She's very kind to introduce me the city when I arrived in the first day, explaining the places I could visit in Liverpool. Glad to have the chances chatting with her.
The neighbourhood is nice. Though it's not located at the city centre, it's convenient, just 15 mins distance travelling by bus.
Even though I didn't meet Carmel in person, my check in went very smoothly and the room was very comfortable, with great amenities provided!
I stayed at this house, on and off, over a number of weeks because of work. The fact that I always wished to stay here after my first visit speaks volumes. The house reminds me of the house from the comedy 'Bread', which I understand used to be quite popular in Liverpool and that in itself makes this an interesting place to stay. Carmel leads a busy life so I didn't always meet her but when I did she was friendly and welcoming and her instructions beforehand were clear. Although the living room was unavailable the bedroom's I stayed in were clutter free and clean. There was a nice TV in each room and they were warm. Each time I stayed at this house I got a good night's sleep and anyone else I met who was staying there was friendly and respectful too. The kitchen was clean and helpfully, Carmel supplies tea, coffee and breakfast. I was reticent about booking this house the first time because there was no off street parking. Don't let this put you off however, because I always felt my car was safe and I always obtained parking close to the house. In fact the area generally seemed safe and reputable. The house is also convenient in that it's within a short walking distance of a retail park that includes an ASDA, Home Bargains and an Ember Inn pub. Outside of the retail park are plenty of other eateries including some funky restaurants. I would recommend this house to anyone wanting a comfortable stay and a good night's sleep.
Simple but very functional and very clean and convenient room.
The house feels as if it is a stepping stone on what is the Liverpool's equivalent of the Inca Trail, namely the Beatles trail.
I met several people staying in the house during my stay who literally had gone straight through London from places like Peru and Columbia on their world travels to spend two days in Liverpool enjoying the city's cultural heritage specifically the Beatles experience.
Absolutely incredible value, I'm sure she could charge three times as much and still be as busy.
Really good vibe in that one group of backpackers had missed their transport and the landlady let then stay another night which was a great sign, in fact they had my room mind up on the smaller one, but it was no big deal
Fantastic experience! Was afraid that I might get lost but Carmel's instruction were very clear! May seem a little far from town but it's actually extremely convenient. Room was perfect for single person despite being a little small. All the essential facilities were provided! Carmel is extremely friendly and gave me lots of advice too! Wish I could stay longer!
The room was as described, it was close to restaurants and to Penny lane as stated.
Communication was via email and house was easy to find.
room was really comfortable and nicely laid out.
The bus transportation there was great but look out for the stop or you go for a ride.
Did not meet Carmel or talk verbally but everything was explained.
would have loved to have toilet paper. but other than that lots of useful information
i would stay there again if in liverpool
