Ubud is a remarkable town in the middle of the island of Bali. For more than a century, it has been the island's preeminent centre for fine arts, dance and music. While it once was a haven for scruffy backpackers, cosmic seekers, artists and bohemians, Ubud is now a hot spot for literati, glitterati, art collectors and connoisseurs. Famous names walk its busy sidewalks everyday
Ubud is arguably the best place to use as a base if you're visiting Bali; if you're looking for culture, comfort, nature and inspiration. Ubud is surrounded by most of the things that bring people to Bali -- scenic rice fields, small villages, art and craft communities, ancient temples, palaces, rivers. And it's central location makes it easy to get from Ubud to the mountains, beaches, and major towns.
The Suastika Lodge was AMAZING. Anguish and his family were so warm and accommodating, always helping us with whatever we needed. Plus they made an incredible breakfast every day. The home itself is also perfect, situated directly in lush vegetation. I felt like I was waking up in the jungle every morning. The location is far enough from the main town where you aren't being pestered on the street by vendors, but also so close that everything is accessible by foot. Five stars! I would come balk to Bali just to visit here again.
My stay at suastika lodge was just so wonderful. Ngurah is very helpful and explained everything so clearly before I arrived. The room is in a balinese compound and I felt really welcomed by the lovely family! The breakfast was perfect and I could enjoy it every morning sitting in the porch watching the greenery listening to the birds :) the everyday small talks with Ibu Putu and Ngurah's father really made me feel like home :)
The room is very clean and the fan keeps the room cold. Overall it was a beautiful stay. I highly recommend the place if you stay in Ubud.
We had an amazing time here at Suastika Lodge. The family was so nice and took care of us very well. The food was delicious, ibu cooked for us when we stayed in the whole day.
We would come back again when we are in bali and we recommend everyone to stay here.
I had a wonderful time at the Suastika lodge homestay. Great room, great people, great time. I originally booked for only one night but I enjoyed it so much that I stuck around for four nights.
The family is very friendly, always smiling, offering assistance and advice in any way they can. They cook a good breakfast every morning with fruit and Balinese coffee. My room was clean, comfortable, and exactly as advertised. I had a porch that I could relax on with the sound of water, birds, and nature.
If you are in Ubud I highly recommend relaxing here for a few nights. You won't regret it.
We stayed five days at Ngurahs house and it was wonderful! They're so friendly and helpful. If you wanna do a trip, just ask them and they will call someone. The room was very clean and the view from our veranda was fantastic. Best omelett and pancake in indonesia on our trip until now. We would come back any time!
Lovely family. Delicious breakfast. Basic decent room for the price. Bit hard without aircon.
Wonderful place! The people there make you feel welcomed right away and take care of you. They provide you with a map of the area and explanations on anything you want to do. They suggested I go see some traditional dancing. They even dropped me off and picked me up after! Really wonderful people.
NOTICE: the rooms are close to the woods and there is a lot of noise. In the day its fine and soothing, but at night, there are frogs and crickets and later at night you can hear dogs and roosters from the neighbourhood. If you're a light sleeper, bring ear plugs and you'll be fine!
Also, there is hot water, but it takes a couple minutes for it to reach the pipe. So start the water, go brush your teeth and you'll get hot water on your return... but again... far from being a big deal!
