Ubud is a remarkable town in the middle of the island of Bali. For more than a century, it has been the island's preeminent centre for fine arts, dance and music. While it once was a haven for scruffy backpackers, cosmic seekers, artists and bohemians, Ubud is now a hot spot for literati, glitterati, art collectors and connoisseurs. Famous names walk its busy sidewalks everyday
Ubud is arguably the best place to use as a base if you're visiting Bali; if you're looking for culture, comfort, nature and inspiration. Ubud is surrounded by most of the things that bring people to Bali -- scenic rice fields, small villages, art and craft communities, ancient temples, palaces, rivers. And it's central location makes it easy to get from Ubud to the mountains, beaches, and major towns.

  • A simple room very clean in a traditionnal balinese house, with very calm atmosphere. The owners are wonderful, always smiling and helpful, full of advices and explications about Bali. Around 15mn of the ubud palace and 20mn of the monkey forest both by walk, to give you an idea how it's well-placed. Laundry service and drinks avalaible for a little fee. They also can help you to find a driver to visit Bali during a all day, or more, (especially their friend Gede, who's as nice as them) for a very good price compared to the others kind of "tourists tours".
To conclude, my friend and I spent a very very good real balinese week in the house and we advice to everyone to choose the Suastika Lodge.

  • It was pure joy to stay at this house. The hosts are very friendly and caring. The guesthouse is located in a garden (10 min walk from city centre), you wake up to the sound of birds and trees. Pure joy. Rooms are clean, spacious and well maintained. Breakfast served was delicious and filling. The hosts helped me with booking reasonably priced tours around Ubud area. Overall, I loved every moment of my time here, and will happily stay with the lovely hosts when I visit Ubud next time.

  • Suastika Lodge is such a lovely place in such a good location. It's very quiet, you wake up by the sounds of jungle, yet it is only a 5-minute walk to the Ubud main road. The host family took such good care of me and were very helpfull. I had a great time!!

  • We stayed three nights at Suastika Lodge and we really enjoyed it. We had one of the rooms with the view into the "jungle", which was amazing. It was the perfect quiet place to come home to after a day in busy Ubud.
Ngurah and his family are very helpful and so friendly. We really felt welcomed by them and didn't have any hesitation asking for help. In the morning of our first day I asked for a good place to rent a scooter and when we wanted to leave a few minutes later, they had already arranged for a scooter. Perfect! On our departure day we booked a driver recommended by the family, which also worked out well.
Thank you so much for the experience!

  • Great little villa tucked in a quiet corner with a great view of the "jungle" beautiful big trees and leaves and colors. The hosts were extremely friendly and helpful. Made phone calls for us and answered all of our questions and helped us with getting a driver for the day to take us around. The breakfast was the best we had in Bali, fresh fruit bowl was delish!
The room was basic but very spa Iowa and the bed was very comfortable. The bathroom was just like everyone else said. Clean and fine. But toilet not up to western standards. If u know that going in. You'll be fine. We did and all good. The shower had the most pressure from everywhere we stayed in Bali so that was great! For the price u pay it was amazing and u would definitely stay there again when I go back to Ubud. Make sure you save a day to walk the rice fields path. Breathtaking.
    Thx B Canada.

  • I have stayed only 2 nights at this location. For those who would prefer to stay close to Bali and its locals, it's a really nice place. Everything works but not exactly in the way it works in the Western way. But hey, you are on Bali, right ? The people there are very nice and open. Recommended

  • I stayed at Ngurah for 2 nights and it has been a very nice stay. Ngurah and his family were very welcoming and helpful. They had organised taxis for us from the airport and then back to Semyniak and had helped us rent a scooter, book trips, SPA, etc
The room was clean and the bed was comfy. The breakfast was nice. There was very good wifi signal and there was hot water at the shower all the time. The only downside was that the bathroom that was not to western standards.
