  • I had a great stay at Martha's place! The place is an easy walk, a few blocks away the metro stop, Normal. I enjoyed stooping by the market on my walk to the metro stop and back! Martha is a wonderful host, she recommended places to me, provided me with the maps, I enjoy chatting with her in the evenings! My last night at her place happened to be Friday so we went salsa dancing! I would recommend her place to anyone who is visiting Mexico!

  • Tonantzin was a great place to stay! The neighborhood was nice and didn't feel touristy. Everyone was very friendly. Plus, with the market nearby, there were tons of options for food. Don't miss the sweetest cafe in Mexico, located just around the corner from the apartment (look for the aquamarine colored doors)! The apartment itself was light and airy, very clean and comfortable! Also, it is well-located on the blue metro line at stop Normal. Super easy to hop on and get downtown! Thanks for a wonderful and affordable place to stay, Marta!

  • Martha was fantastic and very prompt--I needed a place last minute and she immediately responded even though she was out of town. Her place was exactly as represented, very clean, with fast wifi in a fantastic neighborhood near a market and a metro station. Would definitely stay again.

  • We stayed at Marthas apartment for three days. It was very nice. We enjoyed! Clean and simpel. Had everything we needed. Close to supermarket and very good wifi.

  • Martha is a friendly and gracious host. The apartment is very clean. Lots of hot water. Very fast internet connection. Bright cheery room -- it's exactly like the picture. Huge closet/dresser storage space -- I unloaded two big suitcases -- and there was room to spare. Martha has an adorable little cocker spaniel who is very quiet and neat. (never barks)

Martha's apartment is in a good location for two reasons:

Very convenient to downtown: about 7 mins walking to the subway ("Normal" station) and 3 stops (10 mins) to Hidalgo which is the center of Mexico City.

Very interesting: It's not upscale like Polanca or some other neighborhoods, but it has lots of character. Families are out on the street socializing and selling traditional foods. There is a big market 2 blocks away. I always felt safe, too. Make sure you make a stop at the "puntocafé" on your way to the subway. The owner is a true coffee aficionado -- best coffee I had in Mexico. His wife makes great cheesecake, too.

Overall, Martha's apartment worked well for me -- reasonably priced with all the amenities one could need.

  • Martha`s appartmens not far from metro Normal - and not far from center (about 5 stations). Good and surface room, kitchen and bathroom. Recommended for stay 2-3 days in Mexico city.

  • It was great experience staying at Martha's place. Martha is an awesome person, very friendly, and helpful. Since I and my friend did not speak much Spanish, her advice and insights were very helpful. She has a dog who is very quite, never barks and keeps to herself.

Neighborhood is in transition and very safe. It is not a posh neighborhood but very close to lot of places to hang out ( La Condesa, Polanco). Train station is not very far and there is a local grocery market about 2 blocks away. If you are adventurous, there are many small restaurants at the market with great food and fresh fruit juices. Access to highway is good about 2 blocks for buses/taxis. It takes about 20 mins to airport without traffic but in traffic it can take about 30 to 40 mins.

The room is clean and comfortable with enough storage for 2 people. Bathroom is shared with Martha but always accessible. I would definitely stay with Martha again.

My motto in life is that everything in life has advantages and disadvantages, I´m museologist and communicologist, I work for a government agency in charge of revitalizing the historic center of Mexico City, so I've gone all walk and cycling. I like to experience the spirit of the cities and towns through its people and food.
