Maria was there to greet us when we arrived. She took us on a tour of the guest house, it was more than we expected. Maria was very helpful with recommending areas of interest. The neighborhood is very quiet. We would highly recommend this B@B. We felt like we had a home away from home.

Maria was welcoming and made us feel right at home. She offered us any advice about Sonoma we needed. The croissants every morning were delicious. Her house is just a short 10 minute walk to Sonoma plaza where you can find great restaurants, bars and wine tasting rooms as well as shops. We would definitely use Maria's house again !
It's no wonder Maria is considered a "Super Host" by airbnb.
You will not be disappointed. Her description and pictures accurately convey the elegance, charm and comfort of her private suite, which feels like a cottage hidden away in a beautiful garden. The tea cart really does feel magic, appearing each morning just outside your door, bearing delicious treats.
Maria thinks of everything, starting with a personal greeting and tour when you arrive.
My only regret is that I could not stay longer.
Maria is a warm and welcoming hostess! She has a lovely home with a spacious, immaculate, and beautifully appointed suite. Her attention to detail allowed us to relax and enjoy our stay. Both Maria and Tessie welcomed us warmly upon arrival, but then gave us privacy to come go as needed. Quiet neighboorhood, and a very convenient location.
Maria was an excellent host to my parents-in-law during their stay in Sonoma. There was some confusion about the original booking but once that was sorted she was very gracious and easy to communicate with. My parents-in-law had a wonderful time. It is a beautiful home with an amazing garden, plenty of sunny spots to relax with a book. A few blocks from the central square.
Maria was the most gracious host and Chez Marie was an absolute dream. The suite is meticulously maintained and has beautiful decor. Maria' s garden area which may be shared by guests was something out of a movie! We could not have asked for a better stay in Sonoma. We were able to walk to and from Sonoma square, and it was great to feel like a local while staying in a beautiful residential area. Last but not least, the croissants Maria left outside of our door every morning were just divine! We could not have asked for a more hospitable, comfortable, and perfect stay. Thanks you Maria!! -- Sasha and Rylee from New Orleans
Chez Marie was absolutely stunning and Maria is a wonderful host! The garden is absolutely spectacular - even better than depicted in the photos (and if you're lucky enough, Tessie will come keep you company in the morning while sipping your coffee and eating Maria's wonderful croissants). There is no detail forgotten at Chez Marie!
Additionally, my wife and I also enjoyed the close proximity to the square - this place is truly a gem.
About the Host, Maria
Welcome to Chez Marie. I have lived in Sonoma for over 14 years and absolutely love the warm and friendly community that it is. I am a Bay Area native, who has traveled all over the world, and has made friends from the mountains of Nepal to the south seas of Tahiti. I am interested in all cultures, their traditions, foods, and music.
Professionally, I have had extensive experience in the medical field, specifically in marketing, sales and account management. Most recently, I have written three memoir-cookbooks books, currently on Amazon and am preparing number four as of this writing. In support of Russian American culture, I write a weekly blog to highlight news that is off the beaten track, or little known facts that link the U.S. and Russia. I have done event planning both for personal and public celebrations.
For guests wishing to get the most out of their Sonoma visit, I can help with personalized concierge services. My goal is to make your stay as enjoyable as possible, both in my home but in the wine country at large.
