Our home is Victorian and was built in 1906 right after the earthquake. We’ve done extensive work on the home and land. It is a double sized lot so half of the land is landscaped with waterfall and pond with fish, over 15 varieties of Hawaiian and Polynesian plants and an expansive lawn and yard. It is a 2 unit home, we live above and Halekipa (the guest home) is on the first level. Our 1 bedroom unit features Bamboo wood floors, carpet in the bedroom, washer and dryer in unit, updated appliances, full size bed and pull out couch in living. It can comfortably fit 4. There are extra pillows, blankets, sheets and towels for you also. We also have a few things for children (boys and girls sleeping bags and a few games…still adding on to this. The home is equipped with High speed WIFI and Cable T.V. (Astound) as well. This property also dubs as the Kaululehua Hawaiian Cultural Center. You’ll notice a dance studio and library on the land as well. Once a week there are classes (dance) and once a month classes on cultural arts/crafts (weaving and lei making). Our home was awarded the Beautification award for South San Francisco in 2011 for the most beautiful Home in South San Francisco!
We are located in downtown South San Francisco (SSF) all restaurants are walking distance (Starbucks, Pete’s, Subway, multiple Chinese and Mexican, Thai, Vietnamese , Korean, Italian, Argentinian, American, Japanese and more). There are a few grocery, liquor and drug stores within a block. Some of our favorite restaurants: For Breakfast – Cable Car Café (nothing fancy, just quick good ole fashioned breakfast), For Lunch - La Morena (best al pastor nachos, tacos and plates), For Dinner - Izanami (great specials, brand new and nice atmosphere, some killer Ramen!). If you’ve never had See’s candy, the factory is down the street you might want to go in for samples ;-)
Everything you could possibly need is within 1 mile (drug stores, department stores, chain restaurants etc..) Most people stay at our place go site seeing. There is 1 car parking designated for our guest but if you don’t drive bus is within 1 block, Train (Cal. Train) is 4 blocks, Bart is 10 blocks away. All of these can take you somewhere interesting. Downtown San Francisco is about 10 minutes by car. Besides San Francisco you should make time to explore our coast especially downtown Pacifica and cruise along famous highway 1 to visit downtown Half Moon Bay!
Door is Key Pad - code will be sent.
Very little interaction, we travel a lot, we rarely see our guests.
We are steps to many stores and restaurants (Mexican, Italian, American, Japanese, Thai, Vietnamese and more). Grocery strore (meat/produce etc..) is 1/2 a block. City Hall is in view of our house. We are 2 miles to SFO airport and minutes to downtown.
We are 2 blocks to Bus, 4 blocks to Train, 8 blocks to BART

Kiwika's place was a beautiful get away for our weekend in the city. It was very cozy, tidy and welcoming. We felt right at home as soon as we walked in. The garden absolutely beautiful, it features a pond and a small waterfall. A perfect weekend away. Kiwika shares a beautiful home!
It worked very well with me since I did not have to drive to downtown SF for our conference and just took a bus a few blocks from the house amd the bus stop was just a block away from Moscone Convention Center. The place was clean and the area had many restaurants (website hidden) was also very near the airport.
Kawika's 1 bedroom apartment is wonderful! Clean and nicely decorated. It was especially nice of him to leave a bottle of wine out for us upon arrival! The bedroom is small, but there is plenty of closet space to store our luggage. The bed was especially comfortable. It is very smart of him to set up the TV in the living room & still be able to view it from the bedroom. Very cute partition doors, that provide a small amount of privacy from the living room. We took advantage of the having such a nice kitchen space & cooked at least once a day. The garden was very large & quite lovely, we did see 3 raccoons! Which my daughter & boyfriend loved!! Initially we parked in the wrong driveway, which we discovered when we returned & there was a car in it. Sorry! However the next day our parking spot was taken. There was no street parking left at that time of night. We called & knocked on the door only to find out Kawika was out of the area. We parked our car in front of his driveway, blocking 3 cars, which I felt very bad about. Also we had to keep checking to make sure we didn't get towed or ticketed. That was the only problem we had. We would gladly return to his lovely garden apartment :)
The reservation was canceled 44 days before arrival. This is an automated posting.
The unit is clean and well kept up. It is the ground floor of the owner's house (in-law unit) and is very convenient to the airport and all major highways. Downtown South San Francisco is only a few blocks away and features a few dining options. The available parking at the house and the backyard were nice features, and Kawika was extremely nice and easy to deal with.
