We are 10 minutes to downtown SF. 1 bedroom in a nicely remodeled 1900's Victorian Home.
Our home is Victorian and was built in 1906 right after the earthquake. We’ve done extensive work on the home and land. It is a double sized lot so half of the land is landscaped with waterfall and pond with fish, over 15 varieties of Hawaiian and Polynesian plants and an expansive lawn and yard. It is a 2 unit home, we live above and Halekipa (the guest home) is on the first level (Ground Floor). Our 1 bedroom unit features Bamboo wood floors, carpet in the bedroom, washer and dryer in unit, updated appliances, full size bed in the bedroom, futon couch in living room for 1 adult or 2 children, full size blow up mattress or single fold out sleeper futon. There are extra pillows, blankets, sheets and towels for you also. We also have a few things for children (boys and girls sleeping bags and a few games…still adding on to this. The home is equipped with High speed WIFI and Cable T.V. (Astound) as well. This property also dubs as the Kaululehua Hawaiian Cultural Center. You’ll notice a dance studio and library on the land as well. Once a week there are classes (dance) and once a month classes on cultural arts/crafts (weaving and lei making). Our home was awarded the Beautification award for South San Francisco in 2011 for the most beautiful Home in South San Francisco!
Kitchen has 4 burner stove and full oven, Full size fridge, microwave, toaster, drip coffee maker, french press, espresso machine. We have a few items for cooking to get you started (oil, spray, salt, pepper, Garlic salt).
We are located in downtown South San Francisco (SSF) all restaurants are walking distance (Starbucks, Pete’s, Subway, multiple Chinese and Mexican, Thai, Vietnamese , Korean, Italian, Argentinian, American, Japanese and more). There are a few grocery, liquor and drug stores within a block. Some of our favorite restaurants: For Breakfast – Cable Car Café (nothing fancy, just quick good ole fashioned breakfast), For Lunch - La Morena (best al pastor nachos, tacos and plates), For Dinner - Izanami (great specials, brand new and nice atmosphere. If you’ve never had See’s candy, the factory is down the street you might want to go in for samples ;-)
Everything you could possibly need is within 1 mile (drug stores, department stores, chain restaurants etc..) Most people stay at our place go site seeing. There is 1 car parking designated for our guest but if you don’t drive bus is within 1 block, Train (Cal. Train) is 4 blocks, Bart is 10 blocks away. All of these can take you somewhere interesting. Downtown San Francisco is about 10 minutes by car. Besides San Francisco you should make time to explore our coast especially downtown Pacifica and cruise along famous highway 1 to visit downtown Half Moon Bay!
Door is Key Pad - code will be sent.

Very cozy and well decorated place! Quite neighborhood and very easy access to the freeway. Feels like home! Did not get to meet the host since he is traveling but we had absolutely no problem whatsoever.
Wonderful little Hawaiian influenced oasis. Sweet garden to sit in. Clean easy home. Thank you!
Great neighborhood. 5 minutes from SFO (take a UberX and not a regular cab which is a huge rip off).
Listing description is accurate. Place is comfortable and cozy. Convenient parking lot across the street for only $3 a day. Within 1 mile of grocery stores, movie theaters, mall, shopping etc.
Close to public transportation.
We had a wonderful time. The apartment was really well outfitted, and really well located to where we wanted to be. Great area and Kawika was very helpful through the process as we were moving to the bay area.
The home was perfect. We spent one night there after flying in from the East Coast so we could explore San Francisco for a day prior to heading up to Sonoma County. Accommodations were comfortable and clean. Location was great. There's currently some construction on the site but it didn't bother us at all... from the condition of the unit we saw I would imagine the property will be fantastic when all renovations are complete.
Very good stay in San Francisco sleeping in Kawikas loft. It is a very nice apartment. Maybe a bit small for three people but very confortable
We have all we need.
This is a cute, updated, modern unit in a decent area. We enjoyed having our own parking space, even if it was a little tricky to work it out sometimes. Kitchen and furnishing are nice. However there was some leftover food in the refrigerator, but the owner had just got back in town the night we came. He was very friendly and helpful to us.
The unit can sleep more than 4 with the provided supplies, however if you have 2 couples it's a little tricky. The bed will sleep 2 and there is an ok sized air mattress for 2 if you like to snuggle. The air mattress is good quality though and won't lose air over night. The shower is pretty small, especially if you want to do something like shaving your legs. The other problem to be aware of is when we went mid way through July, there was a lot of construction going on outside that we weren't warned of. There wasn't noise from it, but it's an eye sore and the step down from the parking will just about kill you if you're not careful. Over all we enjoyed our stay here and we would consider coming back to this unit.
A great household fill with good energy and good people. Owners and other house members are all from Hawai`i and active in perpetuating Hawaiian cultural dances, language, music and more. 50% of time owners are traveling for work.
The household are filled with artists: Hawaiian Music Artist, SF Opera Singer and Dancers.
As hosts we pretty much stay out of the way, when we are home which is rare, we'll have a bbq once in a while and our guests are invited ;-)
