With high ceilings, exposed brick, and a backyard garden, you will have a spacious, comfortable home base during your travels. Step inside our 150-year-old brick rowhouse and relax—curl up on the couch while you plan your activities for the day, or duck into the yard and enjoy the seclusion of an urban garden.

Want a great meal? Our neighborhood is filled with restaurants, cafes, and bars—something for every palate and budget. Or snack your way through one of several weekend farmers' markets. Or pick up gourmet groceries from one of our nearby markets and make your own feast in our thoughtfully appointed kitchen. It is well-equipped, with a dishwasher, blender, toaster, food processor, coffee press, kettle, etc.

Want to shop? Stroll one block to Smith Street's stores and boutiques. Go one block farther and check out the wares on and off Court Street. Walk 10 minutes to Atlantic Avenue and find antiques, furnishings, and designer boutiques. Take a longer walk or a short subway ride to Ft. Greene, the Brooklyn Flea, or Park Slope. Be adventurous and check out Red Hook and the Waterfront district.

The apartment has no washer or dryer, but there is a laundromat two blocks away which offers self-service and drop-off service. We have a cart and laundry bags to borrow if you want to take your laundry there.

*** Please note: We live one block away from a large public housing project. ALL Airbnb apartments in this neighborhood are near it one way or another. It is not dangerous, and you'd have to really go out of your way to walk past it, but it IS an urban environment. However, we have lived here for ten years (we actually live upstairs from the Airbnb apartment with our toddler son.... don't worry, he sleeps through the night!), and have never felt unsafe. ***

Zachary and Jody were wonderful and warm hosts. The apartment was perfect for our family of four. Cozy yet plenty of space for everyone. The neighborhood is very convenient for exploring on foot or using public transit. We would absolutely look here again should we return to Brooklyn.

Zachary and Jodi knew we were coming from far away. It was really a nice touch to have breakfast food in the frige and fruit on the table it set a welcoming tone for enjoying our visit with family in Brooklyn. I also found it really easy to cook in their kitchen. All the appliances worked well. There were no inconveniences. Everything just fell into place. We totally had a great time in Brooklyn with our family. Thank you for being our hosts. Alan and Leah

We had a very late arrival but Zachary was there to greet us and help us and walk us through everything. He was kind enough to have breakfast items for us for later. He also had maps and local information and he checked in with us during our stay.

We thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The apartment was as described & the location was perfect for us with parks, subways, restaurants & a variety of other shops all within walking distance. The apartment was neat & clean & it was great to be able to use the BBQ in the backyard. It was wonderful to meet you both & our son enjoyed your little boys company too!

Zachary met us and gave the quick tour of the place. Parking was tricky and he even offered to give us his spot so I knew we had very generous hosts. The bottle of wine came in helpful too since we had just finished a long drive when we arrived in Brooklyn. The place was perfect for us - complete with chess set - it was 4 blocks from the wedding we were attending a block from all the bars, shops and cafes of Smith St. Citibikes were 4 blocks away but we saw that they are planning to add a new Citibike station right at Degraw and Hoyt! Had a blast - another great Airbnb experience. We may return with kids next year.

Our absolute favorite place to stay in Brooklyn! The location, the apartment, and the hospitality are so amazing. Zachary went above and beyond to help my two kids and I with every detail and is unbelievably friendly, flexible and communicative. I wish every Airbnb were as great as this one!

We've called Boerum Hill our home since 2002. We love New York, Brooklyn, and especially this neighborhood, and are happily raising a family here.

We think staying in neighborhood places that Air BnB and other websites offer is much more interesting than staying in hotels—you get to meet local people, and that's the best part of traveling!
