*** Please note: We live one block away from a large public housing project. ALL Airbnb apartments in this neighborhood are near it one way or another. It is not dangerous, and you'd have to really go out of your way to walk past it, but it IS an urban environment. However, we have lived here for ten years (we actually live upstairs from the Airbnb apartment with our toddler son.... don't worry, he sleeps through the night!), and have never felt unsafe. ***
NO SMOKING. NO PETS.
No smoking anywhere on premises, INCLUDING back yard.
Please be courteous to our neighbors.
Thanks very much!
We had a very pleasant stay in this welcoming, spacious, clean and cosy apartment. There were even fresh flowers on the table when we arrived. Zachary made us feel at home immediately. Neighborhood is also very welcoming, just a short walk from the subway into Manhattan and to two nice streets with lots of restaurants and good shops. Homey is the word, for the way we were received, for the apartment and for the neighborhood. Don't doubt, book this apartment. I will definitely come again!
This is a great flat in Brooklyn, and Zachary was a lovely host. Fresh flowers and a bottle wine make one feel welcome, and the flat has a bright, airy feel to it. They aren't kidding about the Aveda shampoo, which is another great treat! The flat and the whole building is clean and safe; it's nice to have private outside space in the backyard; and Smith/Court streets have anything a traveler could need. I've used AirBnB in this neighborhood a few times, and I recommend this flat highly. It really is kid-friendly, and I was grateful that Zachary and Jody didn't mind at all that I had a 2-year-old over to visit. There are families upstairs, but the building is still quiet, and everyone was friendly.
When you stay at this flat, you feel like a regular person living in Brooklyn, so if you go there frequently, you'll like it. And if you are a tourist, it would give you a nice sense of the city without being around loud, flashy tourists (and tourist-targeted stuff) all the time.
Thanks for a great stay!
Zachary was a perfect host! He was friendly, warm, and best of all, perfectly organized and professional! they made me feel at home and also gave me total privacy and space. the perfect combination of available and respectful. The apartment is charming, spacious and comfortable, with high ceilings and light... and every amenity I needed.
Zachary and Jody (and Horatio!) were great hosts. They were welcoming, informative, and clear and kind. I look forward to coming back when it's summertime and we can make use of the sweet back yard! The location is great and the space really fun with the very high ceilings and open feel.
The apt was spacious and very welcoming. Zachary and Jody were great hosts and we will definitely stay again. Quiet with quick access to restaurants, grocery stores, and a short hop on the subway to Manhattan, although Brooklyn also has a good variety of stores. We will be recommending this apt to our friends as well.
About the Host, Zachary & Jody
We've called Boerum Hill our home since 2002. We love New York, Brooklyn, and especially this neighborhood, and are happily raising a family here.
We think staying in neighborhood places that Air BnB and other websites offer is much more interesting than staying in hotels—you get to meet local people, and that's the best part of traveling!
