Dar Othmane is a charming guesthouse traditionally and beautifully restored and nestled in the heart of the old Medina of Fes, Morocco. The house is more than 300 years old and features walls of polished tadelakt, original cedar wood beamed ceilings and doors which have been restored beautifully. All the furniture has been made by local craftsmen. The central courtyard is decorated with ornate zellig tiles and is a perfect place to relax after exploring the old Medina and it’s alleyways and small streets. Iraq glass has been placed in all the windows for peace and privacy, and warmth in the winter months when the evenings can be a little cooler.
The roof terrace with its panoramic views of the Medina and the surrounding hills is the perfect haven, whether you want to enjoy the sun or read in the shade. It’s offering moments of intmiacy, relaxation and meetings between the guests. Its an ideal place to spend your evenings watching the sun go down, whilst you wine and dine under the African sky.
Dar Othmane is located in the heart of the Medina yet easily accessible from the main street Talaa Kebira. It’s just a 10 minutes walk to “Bab Boujiloud”, the beautiful blue gate which is the main entry to the oldest Medina of the world. Just around the corner you can discover the souk with its hundreds of market stalls selling spices, vegetables, carpets, pottery and beautiful fabrics. The carpark of Ain Azleten is only a 5 minutes walk from the guesthouse.
We invite you to enjoy the spellbinding atmosphere of the beautiful old Medina of Fes.

Beautiful Dar in an amazing location. The rooms were immaculately decorated but we were on the bottom floor room which meant the en-suite had an unfortunate tenancy to smell like sewage when the plug holes were unblocked.
We organised a couple of tours with Hicham and he was happy to help. One thing which I would say is essential is that you request an English speaking guide, or at least fluent French speaking if you can speak the language. One of the guides we were provided spoke zero English and his French was very poor. Not ideal when you're splashing out for a full day tour. Also confirm the price of the tour with the guides when you start as we were quoted wrong prices at the hotel and had a bit of a surprise at the end.
Although there was room for improvement I would say it was a nice place to stay with friendly staff.
Clean and spacious room in a quiet riad. Location was good. Unfortunately breakfast was a little basic and the staff made the impression of being a bit disinterested.
