this is a beloved family home, please treat accordingly.
Very great house with quiet and beautiful neighborhood. The rooms are very well decorated, beautiful pictures and furniture. Everything is provided even including shampoo, bath scrub, eggs and my favorite orange juice. Nancy is very fast and welcome to answer all my questions and give me a lot of advice on my trip to wakulla spring, zoo museum and other restaurants.
A great little place tucked away in a secluded neighborhood just a couple minutes' drive to the capital. I was in Tallahassee for business for two months, and got incredibly lucky to book this place just the day before I arrived. It could not be more convenient for anyone who's in town for the capital or FSU. The place is "Good Housekeeping" comfy, with country flair and a real sense of warmth.
Nancy was very hands off -- we never met in person -- but she made sure the place was stocked with towels, toilet paper, etc. before my arrival. Whenever I called her about anything, she was attentive and quick to offer solutions.
When I head back to the capital next year, I'm hoping that I'll be able to stay there again. It's a million times better than a motel, and the price is comparable.
Nancy made me feel EXTREMELY welcome to her home. She was easy to work with and very accommodating. Her home is lovely and cozy.
Great house, well (email hidden)ncy is a very caring host....
Pros: Nancy is very nice and extremely responsive; the place is huge for a 1 bedroom with 1 1/2 baths; it was very clean from top to bottom; Great location close to everything in Tally; very quiet neighborhood
Cons: Outdated everything (kitchen, decor, furniture, bathrooms); small, uncomfortable bed (would not recommend for two larger adults); shower was clean but plumbing needs work as the drain was slow; porch needs cleaning
Overall good experience and great option for our infrequent trips to Tally. This has inspired me to be sure I book football game accommodations way in advance. Most of our friends got rooms in nice hotels nearby for the same price but they booked before the season started.
Hi, you are perfectly correct about the leaves on the porch and the dated furniture. However, the furniture is on purpose, heirloom collectibles and antique Americiana. The dishwasher, stove and TV are brand new as of 2013 and 2014. You are just a modern guy, sorry to hear about the drain, will have the plumbers back, I had just replaced the shower head but I think having good looking females with long hair clogs the drain, will attend to that. The bed is an antique sleigh bed, I don't wish to break the decor up, it belonged to my sister, otherwise I would have had a queen. You were awfully nice tho, thanks, .nancy.
We had a wonderful time staying here! We were in Tallahassee for an FSU game and had the great luck to book Nancy's home, which was very convenient to downtown Tallahassee, as well as the stadium, and extremely comfy and cozy. Nancy was super accommodating and quick to respond to all emails/requests.
So glad that you enjoyed your stay, it means so much to me to know that it is appreciated. Really, I mostly do this for fun, a lot of people enjoy the unusual antiques, that was my grandmothers China cabinet in the kitchen, she was wonderful and it makes me remember a very happy childhood. Come back!
