My partner and myself plus our Mums had the most lovely stay. Everything was pristine and perfect. Very thoughtfully laid out and comfortable. Many thanks to Margret. :-)
Couldnt fault one single bit of our stay at skylarks! Visited with my parter and my cousin and it was just what we all needed and mor We arrived to a card and a bottle of wine from margaret which was a lovely touch. The kitchen had everything needed, plenty of pots and pans, salt and pepper, teabags, sugar, and a good sized fridge and freezer. The kitchen (as well as the whole place) was spotlessly clean. Living room nice and cosy with a telly, two sofas and an armchair. The beds....well i neednt say more. Comfiest beds we've slept in in a long time (we even had a peek at the labels on the bedding so we could try and get some similar for home). Nice hot shower in the morning and plenty of space to get yourself ready. Swanage is a beautiful town and skylarks is a great base point to see it from. Thank you very much for such a wonderful stay margaret, were looking forward to staying again sometime in the not too distant future hopefully. From Andrea, Mark and Michelle :)
We enjojed our stay in the cottage very much. The cottage is great loceated and well equipped. Margaret was a perfect host, very friendly. The communication was very easy.
We spayed 11 nights in Skylarks Cottage and we really enjoyed it a lot! The cottage is very tastefully decorated, well equiped and it has everything we needed to spend a great time! It is well situated, between a small supermarket and a nice pub (with very good food) and near the centre of Swanage. We had a very good contact with Margaret, who was there when we had a question! Thank you for your kindness Margaret!!! We would love to come back...
Thanks to Margaret and Jane for just enough service and response. As stateded in earlier reviews; what you see is what you get and, we would like to add, a little bit more. Excellent cottage, great location, well equipped and in superb condition. We enjoyed our stay very much and are very pleased with the overall standard of this cottage. Greetings from two happy Norwegians ( had their warmest and sunniest English summer ever!!! )
Before listing what is so perfect about Skylarks, some advice: Book this cottage right now. You won't find anything better.
The cottage is exactly as described. Everything is superbly maintained and is either new or in new condition. The beds are comfortable, the linen very high quality, the rooms are excellent sizes. Water pressure for showers perfect, towels great quality. The kitchen is superbly equipped, with a wide range of glasses, cups, tableware, pans, pots etc that meets every need and everything of high quality. It's located a very short walk from the main shopping streets, with excellent transport links on the steam train, buses, with Durlston Country Park and the Coast walks within a short walk distance. The grocery store two doors away is a definite additional plus for what is already a superb property. Margaret and Jane were exactly as helpful as they needed to be throughout, without any interference or un-required fuss; the keys were easy to access, the house was ready to go when we arrived. Excellent wi-fi, TV, Blu Ray player. As you will see from our booking history, we've booked all over the world and found some excellent places to stay but, with all due deference to the other places we have enjoyed, this cottage is a clear winner for best booking we ever made. I hope Margaret gets all the bookings she deserves - genuinely exceptional.
Margaret and John have a very nice house and the room is great! We were only there for one night, but we loved it and they were fantastic hosts. Really appreciated all the little touches, the local recommendations and of course the very good breakfast.
We will definitely be coming back soon to stay longer!
Many thanks to Margaret and Jane for being perfect hosts! They made it very clear that for us to feel well cared for and welcome was the highest priority, leaving even a personalized welcome surprise for us! The gorgeous Skyloft was exactely like in the pictures, and offered the perfect accommodation for our weekend getaway. I'd like to underline what a beautiful space the patio is, too! We only wish we'd stayed longer, so we hope to be back soon.
My husband, 4 year old daughter and I stayed here in June and had a fantastic time! Skylarks is clean, comfortable and a lovely place to stay. It is close to everything you need in Swanage and also close to many of the beautiful attractions locally. We took the short drive to walk to Old Harry, and another day drove to Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove. Being so close to Corfe Castle was a bonus! Everyone we met from shop owners to people on the street were gracious and kind. As well, both Margaret and Jane were wonderful to deal with. The attention to us as guests was wonderful. I would certainly recommend Skylarks to anyone looking for a place in this area of South Dorset.
