About this listing
Big room in Northern CPH (20 minutes from the center city) , in an old and a little roughed up apartment. A cheap stay for 5 people :)
Looking for a cozy authentic, simple but big room to stay in, with kitchen and bathroom access, and you don´t mind me and my extremely polite, down to earth and used to having AirBnB guests daughter (4 years old) sleeping in the other room... than this is a good deal!:)
IF MORE THAN 3 PEOPLE BRING SLEEPINGBAGS
The room has a 2-PERSON BED , and a sofa that is nice to sleep on. But how many people that choose to stay, is up to you, with no extra cost.
If you are more than 2 people you will need to take a sleeping bag with you. If needed I can provide a madress for the floor to sleep on if more than 3 people.
There is no TV.
... instead there is a fast wireless connection... good speakers and a old but good stereo for entertainment, with a jack stick for iPod, smartphone etc.
Apart from that there is also a small dinner table.
Use as you please, and use everything in the fridge and/or move food around to make space for your own items. There is tea and coffee for free use.
I do not have a oven but I do have a multi function microwave.
The shared bathroom has a shower .I do not own an hairdryer.
And bring our own towels.
My apartment is the part of town called Nordvest ( Northwest). My neighbourhood is quiet and safe, and about a 10-minute walk away you will find the very popular, diverse and hip part of town known as Nørrebro. A part of town known for it´s ethnic diversity, small local cafes, lots of Middle Eastern cuisine and hip cozy bars.
Shopping is 5 minutes away. A 8 minute walk takes you to a Copenhagen size "shopping mall"(small).
Bus 6A leaves every 6-10 minutes for the city center and it takes about 15-20 minutes. The bus stop is a 3-minute walk away.
There will be provided city maps, and I will do my best to recommend places to go and see.
TRANSPORTATION from AIRPORT
Take the metro to Nørreport Station. From there take bus number 6A (towards Buddinge St. /Empdrup Torv)
Get off at LYGTEN... the bus ride takes about 15-20 minutes. From the bus stop you can see my street. (see picture on listing)
I am 33, a student at Copenhagen University studying history and gender studies.
I am a big people lover, and enjoy company.
Looking forward to hearing from you. Do not hesitate to write if you have any further questions.
Sarah and Joelina
It was 4 of us staying for a few days. Room is big enough: one big bed and a sofa where one person or a couple can sleep and there was a mattress if needed. Sarah was kind enough to meet us late after midnight and gave clear instructions how to find her place. This apartment is not a luxurious hotel but we had all we need: place to sleep, shower and a small kitchen. It could be a bit more tidy (having in mind that Sarah is placing cleaning fee) but overall it was what we expected for such price and after reading reviews. Please don't choose this place if you're a snob, if expecting perfect conditions, or if you're afraid of dusts, or if you're loud group or overall just narrow minded. It's quite ok and I would thinking about staying here again next time.
Me and my friends did not feel welcomed at all during our stay. The toilet was not very clean too :( this is the most unpleasant experience for me and my friends.
I DON'T EVEN KNOW WHERE TO START FROM! i just want for people to read this before going there and to have the same surprise my friends and I had. First of all, I don't understand why so many people gave a good reply for this place but i swear, i have never ever experienced such a thing before. We got there, at around 10 in the morning (after, ofc letting Sarah know that we are on our way). She let us wait in the hall for a few minutes....and after she finally decided to show up she looked like she was either drunk or hungover..either way all she said (without any introductions, or just a simple 'Welcome') was: 'this is your room' And she left. Now, let me go on about the dirty room and we all could swear that she didn't even bothered to change the sheets. The bathroom is a disaster, the sink has a hole in it and the bathtub....if only could I post photos, people here will understand why we didn't shower for 3 days. She didn't even bothered to talk to us, to ask us anything...This place is nothing as described. I keep asking myself why is she rated with 4 stars?! if i could give -1 star i would totally do this and I would also ask for a refund. It was a horrible experience and she should stop being a host if she doesn't feel like doing this.
Sarah is a super nice host and really cares for her visitors. We were five people and there was enough space for us to sleep andeat and chill.
The apartment is no luxury hotel but you probably can't find anything else for this price that has such a perfect location and for a couple of days it is completely fine. The bus and the supermarket are very near and with good weather a nice walk to the city center is no problem either.
We booked our trip for four people in advance. The apartment was completely unprepared. Our room was not cleaned, the beds were unprepared, overall--extremely dirty. For four people, we had one king sized bed available, a sofa and a mattress but we received one set of clean sheets, three blankets and three pillows. The whole apartment, that is the room, bathroom, the kitchen were incredibly unkempt and extremely dirty -- lots of unclean plates and dishes in the sink and trash --the sink even had a hole in it. We also did not receive clean towels. Overall, a huge let down. We absolutely do not recommend this place, the number of glowing reviews is absolutely ludicrous.
I am sorry, that you´re experience was so awful. You checked in at 2 o`clock am- I specifically have a check in time. The hole in the sink was made by my guests that had just been there.
You where loud, and where disrespectful of the fact that it is my home, and I was there. I did not feel comfortable in my own home, so I left. You had my apartment to your selves.. For very little money.
I specifically state the bedding situation.. that you do not approve of it is not my problem.. then you should have taken a different host.
Again I am sorry you had a bad experience.. but so did I :(
I was there for 3 days with 3 more friends and we really enjoyed our time in her flat. The apartment was very cozy and warm and she was an excellent host because she gave us many ideas about where we could go and what we could visit during our staying.
We hope we could go back some day.
Sarah is a very nice and welcoming host! She left the whole apartment to my group of friends and I- allowed us to use the kitchen, wifi, space heater and accomodated her spare room for four people. The room looks just like the picture. Her apartment is a bus away from the city center of Copenhagen, and didn't make travel difficult. The only negative comment I have on the experience was that the kitchen wasn't left very clean; there were dirty dishes in the sink and food left on the counter, but overall a great and cheap place to stay!
