We are stay at home about 5 days, and I want to say, that home is very beautiful, the territory of Isla Dorada is very clean, green and safety. At the home there is good air-conditioner, big kitchen and living room. But if you are without car, you need walking to beach about 10-15 minutes. Near the condo is big The Isla Mall Center, which all over you need. Best wishes, Andrew.
Pina’s home is in a wonderful area nearby the La Isla mall in the hotel zone. It took me a couple days to realize just how fortunate I was to be staying in such an exclusive area for 8 days. The mall has everything a light traveler needs. With easy access to the mall, the location is a perfect north or south vantage point for access to all points on the Hotel Zone. Truth told you’ll do more walking— in my case this was perfect for me and overall I felt incredibly safe. Including my several walking trips to the beach. Touring around, once you get to know the gate staff, you start feeling like a local. Pina’s house is exactly as described, and Pina and her family are so welcoming to guests. WiFi is 1Mb and really only accessible in the kitchen, a little slower than I’m used to — yet WiFi is perfectly functional. I came with few a few words of Spanish, and I doubled my vocabulary during my stay. If you get a chance to meet Randy, he can also bring you up to speed on the area, history, etc. I found his stories fascinating. The room is large, and is essentially a Master bedroom on the main level. Complete w/ full bath. For the newbie travelers: Mexico uses the same power plugs & standard as the U.S. — bring what you need and just plug it in… no hassle ~ unlike in Europe. The bed was comfortable & I was well rested during my stay.
Commuting up and down the hotel zone is easy, just use the R1 or R2 bus route… for 10.50 pesos (less than $1 U.S. it is a complete bargain). My next trip to Cancun will definitely include Pina’s house. It is our new go-to place for access to the Hotel Zone. Stay w/ Pina and you’ll consider yourself a very fortunate traveler. And you’ll gain much more than the folks only staying at the beach.
Really enjoyed my stay at Pina's place! I traveled solo for two nights and I felt very safe. The room was clean, had A/C, and the bed was very comfortable. I unfortunately don't know any Spanish so there was a language barrier, but just Google English to Spanish translations and you're good to go. We had a little trouble with the wifi while I was there, it didn't really work in my room upstairs except in the little hall, but it was fine in and around the kitchen. Not a huge deal and they said someone was going to fix it later in the week. There was a dog in the house, Mia, she's a tiny adorable Yorkie. I think she's still a puppy so she did that excited peeing a little but it didn't bother me at all and she's so sweet and playful! The location was perfect, right next to the mall which has restaurants and taxi's are right in front. It's about a 10 minute walk from the house to the security gate that leads out to the mall area. The whole neighborhood feels extremely safe and I felt safe walking back alone at night. I definitely recommend staying here; it's a great location for a great price!
Pina has a great home close to everything you need (buses, restaurants, beaches and shopping) and the location is very safe as well.
