We had a great time visiting family in Brooklyn and it was wonderful to have a nice quiet place to come home to at the end of the day. Our unique experience is that we were traveling with a 1 year old. Our daughter (who is just starting to walk) is into everything. Lucky for us the apartment was fairly easy to baby proof. Donna had a pack-n-play available and the kitchen had everything I needed (minus an oven) to prepare food for my daughter. Thanks for the great time. We would definitely stay here again.
We had a great time staying at Donna's place in October 2014. The photos are very accurate, and it's a private, well-appointed space in a quiet residential neighborhood — very close to restaurants, cafés, and bars on Cortelyou Road and Newkirk Avenue. Donna was extremely easy to work with, and the stay couldn't have been smoother. Highly recommended.
Donna's apartment was beautifully clean and very comfortable indeed - ideal for a small family, as there plenty of stores around and Coney Island is not far away on the subway. It was very well equipped and everything you would need for a short stay was provided, including the use of the laundry. I cannot recommend Donna's apartment highly enough, and she is also very welcoming and friendly!
Donna is really an excellent host. She was very helpful right from the first message we sent, until the last minute we left the apartment. She even helped us get a car service to get to the airport! She is a great communicator. The apartment was exactly as listed, very clean, and had everything (lots of clean sheets and towels, fully equipped kitchen, fully stocked bathroom, fully furnished). Donna even left some breakfast foods for us in the fridge, and a complimentary bottle of wine. That was really very nice! Another very nice thing was the house manual, which was very complete and comprehensive, and even included a list of selected restaurants and activities in Brooklyn. (The only thing that we noticed was a medium-slow wi-fi connection, that didn't fully worked in the bedroom.)
The neighborhood is good and we felt safe walking around during day and night. It is a very eclectic and diverse neighborhood, there are many ethnic and organic restaurants and groceries, and there are many stores a couple of blocks away. The apartment is 10 blocks (15 min. walking) from the nearest subway station, and then the trains take 35 - 45 min. to get to Manhattan.
This apartment is definitely recommended, especially for the wonderful hosts, the quality of the apartment itself, and for people who want to explore Brooklyn, have an experience like a Brooklyn resident, and who don't mind walking and taking the subway to go to Manhattan.
MERCI Donna, MERCI Bill.
