Interaction with Guests
We usually give guests plenty of privacy but sometimes we get to know my guests well. It all depends!
Lefferts Garden is Brooklyn’s best kept secret! Up and coming, safe, diverse neighborhood; interesting blend of artists and musicians with family friendly Caribbean community. It gives you a taste of real NY. Our main attraction is the Prospect Park (Make sure to check out the farmer’s market every Saturday). The apartment building is located right in front of the park. So enjoy morning strolls! We have a brand new Ice Skating Rink in the park if you are visiting during the winter months. Brooklyn Museum, Botanical Gardens, Prospect Park Zoo and Brooklyn Public Library are all within walking distance. Walk one block towards Flatbush Ave, you will find everything you need from grocery stores, drugstores, laundromat, liquor shops, restaurants, bars and cafes!
Easy access to Manhattan. Our apartment is only a block away (less than 1 minute walk) from the metro line ( Q, B, S. 15-20 minutes to Downtown, 30 minutes to Times Square.) Or stay local, just 5 minute Subway ride to the Barclay Center, Park Slope, and downtown Brooklyn. Williamsburg / Greenpoint? No problem! B41 & B43 Buses leave right around the corner! You can simply take the Q train to the last stop, it will take you to the famous Coney Island in 20 minutes. If you drive, finding a parking is surprisingly easy. A gas station is a few block away.
Other Things to Note
You will get a set of keys (keys to the building and the apartment) There is no curfews.
Although we love dogs and cats, our apartment is pet-free.
Our check in/out time is flexible.
PLEASE MESSAGE ME WITH YOUR IDEAL CHECK-IN TIME specially if you are arriving before 6PM on weekdays.
No smoking in the apartment. Please kindly take off shoes. Thank you :)
Loved the stay at Iko's place. The neighborhood is amazing. It is 2 mins walk to the Prospect Park subway station and Q and B trains, which connects to Manhattan. "Wholesome" was our fav place for morning coffee and breakfast. The room is very clean and matches the picture on the website completely. We stayed for 3 days here and got so attached to the room and the neighborhood. It was our home away from home. We did not have any issues. Just a heads up for those who're driving here- there's a parking garage within 5 mins and we ended up paying $66 for 3 days. Except parking and non attached bath, I completely fell in love with this place. I would highly recommend it and would definitely stay here if I visit NYC next time! Thanks Iko and Anibal for being such warm and lovely hosts!!
We had a great stay at Iko's place: it is quiet, comfortable and well equipped. Prospect Park is just across the street and the subway is super close by - with the Q train it took us half an hour to Manhattan. We drove to NYC and we were able to find parking on the street but there was a garage close too which was not too bad price wise.
Thanks again Anibal and Iko for making our stay so comfortable :)
Convenient- 5 mins walk from Prospect Park Station. Nice clean room and bathroom. Food recommendations from Iko was very useful! Managed to find lovely breakfast place. It's a pity we didn't get to meet her in person. Her partner, Anibal, was very helpful and ensured that we would 'check-in' successfully.
We found a very warm and welcoming stay at Iko.
We stayed for a week and had a nice and clean room. Iko was out and made sure back-up contact was available. The appartment is nice and we could use the kitchen for breakfast, got plenty room to relax and Iko has a great bathtub and shower.
Internet was fast too for facetiming home.
The community is safe, (even gluten free) supermarkets round the corner, as is the subway.
We enjoyed prospect park across the road, did some walking & running and had lunch there. Its safe to walk at night and many people have dinner on the large tables (nice)
This isn't center NYC so you need to consider 40min subway, which was fine for us as it runs 24/7. We took taxi in from JFK but would do subway next time!
I would certainly recommend a stay at Iko!!
Great experience- the room is clean and just as described/pictured, neighborhood is pleasant and right next to the park and subway, check in went smoothly... yeah, exactly what the other reviewers already said, all good stuff :) Iko was out of town but she kept in touch and we briefly got to meet her partner, who was very nice and made sure everything went well. We had a lovely time and wouldn't hesitate to stay here again next time we come to NYC!
The room was cozy, but not claustrophobic, clean and attractive in a simple, minimal way, which we like. Iko was warm and friendly right from the moment we met - hugs instead of hand shakes, which we also like.
I would make a couple of suggestions tomake that room a little more guest accommodating. Since there's no closet for hanging things, a clothes rack against the wall where the beach scene is hanging, instead of the hooks on the back of the door would be nice. Once things hang there the mirror is completely hidden. An extension cord on hand in that room would compensate for the few and far between outlets (we get it - it's an old building).
