As far as AirBnB hosts go, JuanKa is one of the best! He's extremely quick to respond and very helpful. The apartment is exactly as described and in a fun, central neighborhood in Santiago. We arrived around 10:00 pm on a Saturday night, and getting into the apartment could not have been easier. It was clean and comfortable and a great home base for exploring Santiago. JuanKa was even able to accommodate a late check out for us. Thanks JuanKa!
The flat is very comfortable with everything necessary for a short stay. It was smaller than imagined from the pictures but with a walk-in dressing room. We chose this place because of the pool (as we have children) but this turned out to be cold and not child-friendly.
Everything about our stay in this cozy, efficient apartment in Santiago was first rate. The description, the communication, the location. JuanKa was on top of everything and we were thrilled with the location and the feeling of safety and comfort. It was hot (January), there is no air conditioning, but I would rent again, just because both the bed and futon were comfortable, the apartment had everything we needed and the price was perfect. The super market next door was so handy and the elevators ran great. And again, the location cannot be beat. JuanKa provided every bit of direction and information we needed to get to the complex and the wifi and all other needs were just right. The concierge at both entrances were helpful and friendly. Really a great place and a wonderful host.
Apartment is clean, comfortable and located in the center of the downtown. Owner is helpful, builfding is well-managed. Only one major probllem: apartment has western exposure and is very hot in summertime, in afternoon and night.
We stayed in the Bellavista apartment December 27-31, 2013. The apartment is in a prime spot close to Cerro Santa Lucia, Parque Forestal, Barrio Lastarria, Plaza de Armas, Cerro San Cristobal, and many other attractions in Santiago Centro and the surrounding neighborhoods. The apartment was well equipped and had helpful labels. The concierge at both entrances were also very helpful and could answer any questions we had about the metro, etc., which was a definite plus. Since you are in the city center, space is at a premium, so I would recommend this apartment for 2 people only, more than that would probably be rather tight. As a few other reviews have mentioned, the apartment can get a little warm - but considering there is no air conditioning and Santiago in the summer can average 90 degrees Fahrenheit during the day, we found it actually stayed relatively comfortable if you closed the shades during the afternoon, and kept the fans on. There is a nice, surprisingly large walk in closet with a shelving unit that was great to store all of our items. There is a pool in the same apartment complex which was wonderful - swimming at eye level with the Andes! JuanKa was very responsive and made checking in and out of the apartment very easy.
Overall, a great stay - would definitely recommend this apartment.
Thank you JuanKa!
Apartment was modern and comfortable. Good Wifi and cable TV in living room and bedroom! The complex is a combination of full time residents and travelers, so it's safe but not touristy. Location was convenient to restaurants and public transit (two different subway lines within walking distance). Also, many restaurants and bars within walking distance of apartment and museums just one or two subway stops away. JuanKa was a great host. He called during our stay to check on us and even found us directions to the correct bus station for our trip to Mendoza. Definitely would stay here again.
We stayed in JuanKa's apartment for three nights when we were visiting Santiago. He was very responsive during the booking process and made it very easy for us to check in, we were even able to park our car in the apartment complex. He was also very kind and helpful in booking our taxi for when it came time to depart.
The apartment location is very well located for the tourist sights - steps from the commercial centre (and with a big supermarket in the building), a short stroll to the Mercado Centrale and the restaurants on Lastarria, and a 20 minute walk across the river to Bellavista (which we particularly liked).
The apartment is compact but is appropriately set up for a short stay, with a manageable amount of kitchenware of a standard suitable for casual use, a good fridge, etc. The bed was comfortable, and there were no issues of street noise etc.
Our only caveat would be that in the summer months the apartment gets a little hot. JuanKa knew about this and did his best - he had hung sunshades over the windows prior to our arrival as well as having a fan in each room, but it was still rather stuffy.
Great location, walking distance to Lastaria restaurants, main attractions, Santa Lucia hill, central market... After seeing all key neighborhoods in Santiago we would stay in the same place. The apt was clean and well equipped. JuanKa was kind enough to ensure there was coffee available for our first morning. Loved that there was laundry in the apartment. Would definitely recommend.
JuanKa was professional and quick to respond to all our questions. The apartment is in a terrific location and set up well for guests. It is cosy - as one can see in the photos - but unlike most AirBNB apartments we have stayed in, there was ample space for our items, as well as a full empty closet. If I am back in Santiago, I would certainly stay here again.
Thank you JuanKa!
JuanKa was such an excellent host to work with on AirBnB.
He was prompt with his replies and very accommodating with my flight schedule, as I arrived early and left late.
The apartment is also exactly as described. The kitchen is well-equipped, the bed is comfortable, and the location is central to many things, including a Lider grocery store within steps of the Calle Merced entrance.
I highly recommend staying at JuanKa's flat, you won't be disappointed!
