Artsy/bright/colorful condo w/ deck

Apartment - Private room · West Winnemac Avenue, Chicago, IL 60640, United States

The Space

I live in a two bedroom condo, on the third floor in the heart of Andersonville with my partner and our sweet, well-behaved dog. It is truly a beautiful space with hardwood floors, a bright and open layout, private, and very quiet. Cozy in the winter and lost of space to chill in the summer, having both a front and back deck. Both decks get both direct sunlight and shade and just a great place to relax. I have an organic veggie container garden on both he back deck.

I live within blocks of the lake (close to beaches and a bike trail that can take you all the way to downtown) and a block and a half from the redline which will get you to Michigan Ave, Millenium Park, Museums, Wrigleyville (to catch a game), Chinatown, Lincoln park, Lakeview; many of the hotspots for clubbing, dining, and shopping!! Andersonville (northern neighborhood of Chicago) is a very safe, secure section of the city with great boutiques, independent artsy shops, ethnic and american dining.

Room can accomodate one or two people with firm, comfortable full-size mattress and a clean private bath and shower. There is shampoo/conditioner and soap, hairdryer available to anybody who packed light.

Upon arriving I will give you your set of keys and a few pages of neighborhood tips and house instructions. We have a little european coffee/espresso maker called a MOKA, in case you would like to make coffee in the morning. By adding hot water you are making an 'Americano', or by adding milk you are making a 'Latte'. Also, my partner (who is Indian), will make true Indian Chai made with fresh spices and black tea, which is also an option on request.

You are welcome to use the kitchen and any of the appliances: dishwasher, juicer, microwave, fridge... etc. There is plenty of space in the fridge if you get tired of dining out or just want to save some bucks. There are also a couple health/organic grocery stores within walking distance.

We have fast-speed WIFI as well and parking is always available out front with no charge.

  • Had an excellent stay! The room is located in a nice, safe area in Anderson. It gave me a great opportunity to experience the neighborhood and what it has to offer. My host were very helpful in my process of learning about Chicago and the great places to experience during my stay. I highly recommend this AirBnB provider on your next trip to Chicago.

  • We had a wonderful stay! The room as well as the entire apartment was really fantastic to us. It's clean and cozy, and the location is excellent, with free parking on the street, with a lot of restaurants and grocery stores nearby, and also with a CTA station (Argyle) pretty close. While Liz was away and we didn't have a chance to meet her in person, she is responsive and well accessible through messages, and Kanika is lovely and sweet and welcoming in our visit. Theirs is really a good place to stay.

  • We had a lovely stay! The room was clean, neat and cute and the apartment overall was great. Kanika was easy to get in touch with and we came and went easily. The apt is also located in a great neighborhood right near the shops and restaurants. We also enjoyed chatting with Kanika in the morning over tea and coffee :)

  • We stayed here for 4 nights. The apartment is great. Nice, cozy and beautiful with wooden floor and good heating.
The kitchen is fully equipped and the coffee is excellent.
Liz and Konica were super nice and welcoming.
Access to downtown is easy through the red line l-train station located at a 5 minutes walk from the apartment.
Parking was easy. Even at night, we found parking in the adjacent street.
The neighborhood is also cool, nice restaurants and bars within walking distance, Liz and Konica will be helpful in directing and recommending about the places close by.
Be sure to check the brown elephant for some great second hand shopping.

  • I had the most wonderful time on my recent visit to Chicago. Elisabeth's kind hospitality in her warm and eclectic home was one of the highlights of my trip. The neighborhood is very safe and convenient via the train with lots of fun and interesting restaurants and shops a short walk away. With out a doubt next time I'm in the Windy City I would stay at Elisabeth's "Artsy" place.

  • Liz and Kanika have a lovely home in a beautiful neighbourhood. We had a very happy and comfortable stay there. They were gracious hosts giving us our space while remaining friendly. They were very kind to our puppy. Andersonville is an interesting place with a lot of cool restaurants. Liz's recommendations were tasteful. Travel to downtown chicago from here is easy making this a terrific place to stay and explore the city as well. We look forward to more of Chicago and would choose Liz's place to stay.

  • Liz was so gracious and helpful throughout our stay. She even offered to pick us up from where we were staying before. The apartment was extremely neat, and our room was charming. Liz provided us with towels, internet access, and recommendations on where to eat or go. My boyfriend and I would definitely stay here again!

Hello!!! My name is Liz and I am currently a full-time student studying Traditional Chinese Medicine/Acupuncture and working as a Shiatsu Practitioner/Massage Therapist. I live with my partner, Kanika, who is Indian and came to the USA to study Psychology. She, now, works in the loop as a Professional Counselor. We just recently adopted a four year old boxer-mix, which is adapting well to her new home. She LOVES people, her philosophy is 'the more the merrier!' :) She doesn't bark but can whine a little when she gets put in her crate. She makes you feel very special when you come home and sometimes she will do a little special 'dance' :) A little about me: I traveled a large portion of my twenties (India, South America, Central America, Asia) but now am settled down in hometown of Chicago to be close to family. I love Chicago, (even though I have always dreamt of living in about every place I traveled to :) ) it is a great city with great people and, of course, great food! I enjoy making people feel comfortable and happy, as I experienced LOTS on my travels. I am pretty flexible and open-minded, but I do like to keep a clean, calm, nurturing home. My hobbies and interests include yoga, cooking, painting, photography, health and wellness, and of course, traveling and adventures.
