About this listing
Fully furnished studio with all amenities you need for a comfortable stay in the city. I provide towels and clean sheets, but you need to have your own toiletries.
Apartment is a quiet, fully furnished studio in a beautiful building. It is on the 7th floor of an eight story building. It has cable TV and Wireless Internet access.
The apartment has views of downtown, and gets in plenty of natural daylight. It has a full kitchen and also a big bathroom with a tub. Coin-op laundry facilities on site.
The building is safe, quiet and on a friendly and clean block. Lots of shops, restaurants, bars and galleries in the neighborhood and only three blocks walk from Union Square. There is a grocery store (Trader Joe's) within walking distance. There is also an Avis Car Rental facility right across the street and a bike rental place on the same street a little further down from Avis. Muni bus lines and others stop within one block of the building; BART (Airport train) and MUNI trains are a short walk away (5 min Powell street Station). High tech shuttles within walking distance and easy access to cabs right outside the building.
Sorry, no pets allowed. No smoking.
There are tons of places to eat and have a drink at around my neighborhood.
There's a sushi restaurant around the corner on Post and Taylor called Ryoko which is phenomenal. There's coffee shops across the street and up the street. There's a very good place on Bush and Taylor called Estellas. They have great breakfast and fresh juice options. Everything is within walking distance. I have always felt super safe in the neighborhood and in the apt.
The apt is close to most public transportation. It's a 5-10 minute walk form the Powell street station where you can catch both BART and Muni. Also the airport train arrives here. There are buses going downtown every 5-10 minutes on the other side of the street (Post and Jones). Cable car right on Powell street.
Parking is an issue in the city, so if you have a car I wouldn't recommend staying here. Street parking is very hard to find. However, there are quite a few parking garages nearby, but it's not cheap to keep the car there overnight. There is valet parking on the back of my building. I'm unsure what they charge but I do think you can keep the car overnight. Might be worth it if it's only for one night.
I live in this apt when I am in San Francisco, which is roughly half of the month, and have most of my personal belongings here. I expect visitors to be respectful of my things. I work in Norway, thus I have a good friend of mine helping me with all the practical stuff. He is responsible for the keys and will be the person to contact if there are any problems. He lives only a few blocks away and will also be the one collecting keys and checking on the place once you leave. Instructions for keys upon checkout are in the house manual.
Please make sure to call or text my friend (contact info provided in check in descriptions) at the very least 48 hours before your arrival so that you can schedule an exact meeting time with him. Let him know if your flight is cancelled or delayed ASAP so that he doesn't have to waste a lot of his time waiting if you are going to be late. We have had some problems with this in the past, thus I'm specifying this now to save both you and my friend a lot of time and problems. He is very busy and needs time to plan accordingly.
Check in time is after 3:00 pm and check out is no later than 11:00 am. This is because we have other guests coming and staying prior to you, and we need time to properly clean the apt. I can't store luggage in the apt, nor prior to arrival or after checkout. There's no room to keep it and we need the space to clean properly.
I have other neighbors to consider, thus no parties or inviting more people to spend the night other than whomever has paid to stay here is accepted. Failure to respect these rules will result in us canceling your booking.
If you haven't gotten in touch with my friend 24 hours prior to check in, please write me here ASAP. I work in Europe and if you are outside of the apt there is little I can do from there. This way I have time to make other arrangements.
Upon arrival he will show you around and explain the most essential things you need to know about he apt. We clean the apt after every visit, change the bed, wash the sheets etc., but I expect guests to do ALL of their own dishes if you have used any and make sure you take with you all of your waste and leftover food! Please leave the place as it was when you checked in.
Thank you for your consideration and have a pleasant stay!
I am a flight attendant currently working in Norway, but I live in San Francisco. I love to travel and I do it as much as possible, whenever I have time off, which is pretty often.
