View of our 'little patch of paradise called SLO' from the hill/mountain behind our home. Our house is located just out of view on the far left of this picture.
Enjoy use of 2 bedrooms (each with a double bed) and 1 bathroom. Access also to kitchen, living room (with fireplace) and backyard (with bbq and table/chairs). Don't forget there is also a hot tub to relax in after a days' activities! We, the owners, welcome you into our home - we may or may not be home during your stay. If we are in residence, we will occupy what we call the 'nest' (upstairs master bedroom) and promise to not impose upon your time here (unless it is to perhaps share a glass of wine!) :)
We are located close to a shopping center, the airport and the train station. Eight wineries are within a bike ride or 5 minute drive from our house. There is a stunning hill to hike nearby and various other hikes within SLO environs. We are 10 minutes from several incredible beaches and seaside towns. Downtown SLO and the Mission, the creek through town, quaint shops and a variety of bars and restaurants are less than 5 minutes away.
Whether you are just needing a roof over your head or access to accommodation that feels 'more like home' than a hotel room... this is the place for you!
Guests are encouraged to make use of the entire downstairs - kitchen, living room, and back yard (including hot tub). A washer and dryer is also available at no additional charge. Our philosophy is to provide our guests with a comfortable and enjoyable stay... we may make use of the kitchen, but not so as to interfere with use by our guests. :)
Interaction with Guests
We enjoy meeting and chatting with our guests over a cup of coffee in the morning or a cocktail at days end. Depending on our schedule and the wishes of our guests, we have been known to join for wine tasting, a tour of the area, dinner, etc. We pretty much take it as it comes! :)
We live in a quiet residential area with a fantastic park across the street. Step out our door and the area provides for bike rides, runs, and hikes.
A bus stop is just a block away. The train station is a 5 minute drive and the airport is about 4 blocks from the house (we are talking a small and quaint airport so one seldom is aware just how close the airport is).
Smoking is not allowed, inside or out. Pets may be accepted on a case by case basis. The house is suitable for children but not child proof. Access to wifi is available via a passcode with your own personal laptop/device. Linens and towels will be provided (including beach towels for the hot tub or to use for a visit to the sea!). Please respect this house as if it is your own.
Robin and Doug were very quick to respond to any questions we had leading up to our stay. We had a great time in this very spacious house. We would definitely stay here again.
A very comfortable stay in the house. The host are very nice.I will be back again
We were on a weekend trip to Pismo beach, stayed for just a night. Doug and Robin were very responsive over emails and phone, and made the planning and booking very easy. Doug was around when we reached, and have us a warm welcome, showed us around and made us feel very comfortable. We had the whole floor to ourselves, and it was comfortable for 4 of us and a child. Doug even made coffee for all next morning, before leaving. Great place to stay, wonderful hosts!
Three of my friends and I planned a trip to visit Hearst Castle and San Luis Obispo for my birthday. Robin and Doug's house was a wonderful fit for us. The house is about a 10 minute drive from downtown SLO. The kitchen was well-stocked with pots/pan/mixing bowls, etc, which we used to cook breakfast. The outdoor dining area on the back porch is a great place to dine, and the hot tub is great for a relaxing. The beds were also amazingly comfortable.
Robin and Doug were very responsive prior to the trip and extremely welcoming. We received a house manual upon arrival that answered any questions about the hot tub, TV, kitchen, etc, in case the hosts were not around to assist.
All around, a lovely place to stay for a quiet and relaxing weekend!
We stayed for only one night but the lovely house made us feel home. The location is very easy to access and you can also easily find grocery stores nearby.
We would love to come back again and definitely will recommend to friends!
The hosts were very welcoming. The location was a perfect fit for our plans (close to Morro Bay, Pismo dunes, Avila beach). We enjoyed having the large sunny kitchen , the hot tub, and the possibility to have our morning coffee on the patio.

My husband and I are both retired and absolutely love San Luis Obispo (I call it my little patch of paradise). When not travelling, we enjoy golfing, wine tasting, and time with our kids. We would love to be able for others to use our home as a base as they too visit our area and witness the beauty and fun for themselves.
