My flat is situated on Hong Kong Island in a perfect location for sightseeing or business. It is conveniently near shops, bars, and tourist attractions.
I travel quite a bit and really have only been in the flat no more than 2 consecutive days in a week and sometimes gone for months. I want to make my place available for individuals who are looking for a "NO-FRILLS-STRAIGHT-FORWARD-CLEAN-SAFE-CONVENIENT-AND-NO-KNACK-FOR-INTERIOR-DECORATING- place to stay. My flat is well maintained and offers the basic necessities. It is conveniently located on the main road, Hennessey Road, in between Wan Chai (Lockhart Road bars, restaurants and night life) and Causeway Bay (Times Square, Sogo, Happy Valley Race course).
My flat may be small compared to Western standards, but enough space for a couple to stay at comfortably.
The flat is on the 9th floor, when you enter the building there will be about 15 small steps to walk up and then you can take the lift. There is a main gate, a floor gate and a room door.
The flat includes:
¥A double bed (4’ X 6’) smaller than Western standard
¥Fresh bedding and pillows
¥Mini kitchen with utensils, cookware and induction cooker
¥Quiet air conditioner
¥Mini Fridge welcoming: Snacks and drinks
¥The BATHROOM is a very tight squeeze, but it is still a separate shower stall so the toilet stays dry (Please see photo for reference).
Maid cleaning service available for long term stays.
Check-in and check-out is flexible, please advise in advance.
Upon confirmation I can help you with your itinerary and advise on how to get to my place from the airport. I suggest taking the Airport Express into Central station (24 minutes) and taking a taxi cab (10 minutes).
The flat is also very convenient to the Wan Chai MTR, many bus that connects you to other parts of HK, restaurants, coffee shops, market, shopping center that are all in the vicinity, if not, 10 minute walk away only.
The Hennessy Building is just above with a gorgeous view from the Wooloomooloo restaurant.
I stayed in Amy's and Nathan's apartment for a week, and was really pleased with my stay. The apartment is exactly as described by the photos, and the location is excellent just minutes away from Wan Chai station. Nathan provided me with some great tips what to do over Chinese New Year, and was very helpful and flexible throughout my stay.
Thanks to Amy and Nathan for a stay. The listing description is accurate. Nice flat with everything that you might need while you are travelling (shower, frige, microwave, bed, towels etc). All equipments work properly. There maybe some difficulties using wi-fi near the bed area as signal is not strong, however, I assume you will not spend much time in the apartment, therefore it should not bring any inconveniences to you. The flat suits most for single travellers or a couple of close friends. The area is perferct, close to all key locations on the HK island, ATM nearby, many food places and supermarkets around. It is easy to get to the apartment from the airport, A11 bus stops right in front of the building. I would recommend this flat for a stay.
Great place to stay for a single occupant. Even though I was not familiar with the area, Amy allowed me to have a second occupant in my living quarters (granted, she did tell me that the place is rather small and will be a bit tight for two). It was manageable and easy to access. This place is not wheelchair accessible for those of you that have special needs. The hot water took some getting use to. Let me explain, I wasn't made aware that I had to hit a switch by the bathroom door and wait like about 5 minutes before taking a shower. But after a couple attempts, I finally master the hot water switch and took great hot showers...hahaha.... Amy had a lot of great things made available at the place. First and foremost, there was a bottle of wine waiting for me there with a note explaining wifi passwords and door entry code reminders. The place has a fridge and a microwave, as well as, cooking corner and shown on her pictures. She also has a small space heater (for those cold nights). Theres also a Air Conditioning unit too. Along with a small flat panel television (fyi, one of the channel in the television allows you to see 4 sectors of the building security camera feed, for those of you that wanna know who's outside your door..hahah), but mind you, the area is no where close to bad, it's a great area. You are surround with a bunch of great places when you walk outside. Theres a 24 hour McDonalds right behind the building. The MTR is a block away. Mannings/Wellcome (market/pharmacy) is a half block away. And a bunch of great hole-in-the-wall places to eat. In fact, right at the front entry way is a place that makes dumplings which is great (and I've ate there plenty of times). If anyone is still reading this, I know I am all over the place on this review. I'm no writer, but I just want to let you know what available here at this place and what's around it. When I first walked in Amy's flat, the bathroom had everything, plenty of toilet paper and a hanging loofa with shower gel, shampoo, (by the way, you might want to bring your own towel, cuz there was none). The kitchen area was clean and stocked with spices and cooking utensils. So all in all, Amy's place is my very first flat that I've stayed in through this AirBnb site and quite frankly, it was a great experience. [By the way, I never saw Amy because she was out of town that week when I arrived, but it was easy to contact her through the AirBnb app.] Like all good things that come to and end. Before I ended my stay I bought toilet paper to restock the rolls that I used and cleaned up after myself (even though, i knew, I didn't have to). If you're single,...
The studio was as expected, but be sure you know what to expect! It was clean, location was awesome and appropriate for me as a solo traveller. The hosts were flexible and accommodating, and checking in/out was super easy.
The studio was as described. Amy had even provided amenities, such as body wash, shampoo and clean towels! The maps of Hong Kong were very helpful as well.
Amy was a lovely host, she is very flexible, helpful and quick in communication.
The apartment is exactly what you see in the pictures. Even it is small, which you would have to expect that in Hong Kong, but this apartment would have everything you need.
Thank you for a great stay and your help, I appreciate it!
Amy and her boyfriend were extremely helpful and considerate hosts. I had to make a small change to my booking at quite short notice and they were most accommodating.
The room is, as others have correctly described, basic. However, it is by no means too small to stay for an extended period. It is so fantastically located that it'd be a shame if you spent too long in the flat itself anyway.
Highly recommended to a solo traveller or a particularly close couple.
