Characterful and quirky upstairs flat with mezzanine and outside terrace in a converted vintage property in the Peak District town of Wirksworth, sleeps 2. Dogs welcome.
Wirksworth is an attractive and lively town with an award winning restaurant (Le Mistral) and old fashioned pubs. Come and explore its winding streets, its unique mixture of architectural styles and well establised walks. In addtion to the stunning scenery of the Peak District National Park, there is an annual arts festival (September), community owned swimming pool, Ecclesbourne Valley Railway, Cromford Mill, Carsington Water, the National Stone Centre and excellent antique shops both in Wirksworth itself and further afield in Matlock Bath and Ashbourne.
Perfect for what we wanted. A lovely little bolthole on the edge of the Peaks. Thanks Sylvia.
Absolutely loved our short break at the coach house, such a quaint and quirky little place. Great base to explore the dales from, and can recommend Le mistral restaurant (booking advised) just a short walk from the house.
A really enjoyable stay in a very nice apartment. Very tasteful decor. It was a much better alternative to a soulless hotel. This place felt much more special. you can tell the owner takes pride in this apprtment. thou rally recommended.
Beautiful coach house full of character. Wirksworth is a beautiful little town, highly recommend a restaurant called Le Mistral (the downstairs is really cosy). Sylvia was nothing but helpful, and gave me a detailed description of everything we needed. Would love to stay here again, 10/10.
The place was really well presented, obviously cared for and interestingly decorated to idiosyncratic taste - it looked a labour of love which made it all the better a stay.
The location was really good with a private parking space, just down the road from Wirksworth's town centre. It was quiet too, which is especially welcome if you're looking to get away from the constant drone of the city.
A fantastic cottage: beautifully decorated, clean, and stocked with features and amenities. If you're looking for a cosy place to stay in the Peaks, with great links to Buxton, Bakewell, and Matlock, you won't find better than The Coach House.
I work in the voluntary sector The flat in Wirksworth is my home from home during the week, my real home is in Glossop - but my office is in Wirksworth. Consequently the flat is largely available at weekends and during my holidays - but can also be available at other times when my work takes me to the North of Derbyshire - when it makes more sense to stay in Glossop.
