Villa Chiara is the home of a family who loves travelling, art and nature.
We were ourselves guests in familiar touristic structures in many European countries and we hailed with joy the arrival in Italy of this kind of hospitality, so that we immediately decided to join it...but, this time, as innkeepers!
In this way it seems to us to breathe the air of travels all over the year, even when we are at home.
For the same reason (sometimes we run the risk to sleep in the car) we accept guests even just for one night, we are almost always open and if we are fully booked, we are able to help you in finding another place. We are closed only when we leave the role of innkeepers to take the one of travelers, and in that case, you’ll find on the door the telephone number of structures similar to ours.
The room furniture is simply practical and functional pieces, the room has a double bed, a kitchenette (fridge, two electric hobs, vacuum cleaner, pots and pans). The bathroom is outside and very large. Price € 57 for two people. The facilities and services are very recent and well made.
We love animals, so that they are consequently very welcome here. We permanently host three cats, 7 fishes and, in our garden, there are several hives.
Here you can get information not only about places to visit nearby Montepulciano, but also in the beautiful nearby Umbria.
Only 2 minutes walk from Porta al Prato, which gives access to the course of the Pearl of the Cinquecento with its fine Renaissance palaces, local restaurants and shops. Only a minute walk separates the building from the garden Poggiofanti, from the supermarket, the bus station (take the Chiusi train station), the square of the market on Thursday, the center of the elevator.
Guests can park in front of the structure of the last parking fee before the Old Town which is closed to traffic. Bikers and cyclists can leave their vehicles in the garden of Villa Clara. For the lazy from the nearby bus station is also possible to quickly arrive at the Piazza Grande at the top of the country with urban buses.
Given the strategic position of Villa Clara is a great starting point for excursions by car in the area (eg, Pienza and Val d'Orcia in 20 minutes) and at the same time to visit the city 'of Montepulciano for dinner or to reach on foot its restaurants.
My guests over who will have access to their room corner for reading and from there to the terrace overlooking the garden and the countryside (also useful for those who want to smoke). They can also go into the garden to read a book under our Spruce or enjoying the sun in our beach chairs and armchairs.
Interaction with Guests
My husband and Jordan are available for tourist information and maps of the area, for information on public transport timetables and for every need '. I speak French and English him. In case of emergency we are in contact with people who speak Portuguese and German.

Other Things to Note
This is our home and we are engaged in normal activity 'of any family. We are therefore happy to agree with you in your time of chech if we can but we can not stand to wait a whole host an afternoon: we must get to work, go shopping, spend time on a sport like any. So please report promptly any changes in your plans to allow us to organize ourselves, so we will be more 'efficient and able to ensure a better reception.
Villa Chiara is in a great location for visiting the area, the rooms are comfortable but essentially it offers just a place to sleep and rest between visits and the other, a garden and a reading room. Do not expect anything more 'and above all respected the rest of the other guests avoiding making unnecessary noise more so if returned late at night.
Our stay at Manuela's was delightful. Her property is very well located, a short walk from the centre of the historic village and close to the bus station to surrounding towns. The room was clean and bright and well equipped with a lovely bathroom next door. Manuela was bubbly and welcoming, and very easy to communicate with. Would happily stay there again!
Our visit to Montepulciano was wonderful! Manuela was very kind and helped us get acquainted with the town when we arrived, giving us a map and recommendations. The room was comfortable and its location is perfect. It's as close as you can get without actually being in the city walls. It was great!
Thanks Katie had caught the most 'important of Villa Chiara: its location.
Too convenient for us who live here forever and for those who choose to visit Montepulciano!
FABULOUS TIME! My fiance and I stayed with Manuela and Giordano for 3 nights while traveling Italy for a month, and this was one of our favorite stops!
Hosts: Charming! So helpful, so welcoming, just lovely. They gave us detailed recs for places to go, helped us with our laundry, and were available for any questions we have. You can tell they take great pride in hosting. We were late arriving, and they very graciously waited up for us to give us our "orientation."
Location: Can't be beat! Right outside the walled-city so easy walking access anywhere. Plus, easy to find parking in front of the house if you have a car (which we did).
Home: Perfect! This bedroom is spacious and has the coolest, most space-efficient kitchen we've ever seen. We loved making espresso and having a refrigerator to keep some food. The private bathroom is next to the bedroom and very large and modernized (and has a hair dryer!). The back garden is so quaint, lovely for taking in sunsets or starting your day with an espresso. We are cat people so we really enjoyed having the cats around too (if you're not a cat person, the kitties do stay outside the guest living area).
Montepulciano: You will keep pinching yourself to see if you're dreaming. It is stunning. In the city, we loved walking into the wineries' stores/catinas to do the free tastings of wine and spreads; you can spend a whole morning/day doing that! For restaurants - we suggest osteria del borgo (perfect sunset view), caffe poliziano (amazing day time views, great caffe too); ristortante la grotta (have to drive, fairytale setting); osteria aquacheta (no frills in a good quirky way, meat paradise). Good to make reservations for all of them if you can.
SURROUNDING AREA: For smaller wineries, you can just drive up and do a tasting. For larger ones, it's best to call ahead to reserve spots if you want to do a tour of the cellars and/or lunch. We stumbled upon Piccola Trattoria Guastini for lunch - unreal little garden restaurant overlooking the hills. Also did the spas at the Albergo Terme in Bagno Vignoni.
WONDERFUL ALL AROUND!!
You're too happy and too nice! You're a wise guy: get engaged in Venice is brilliant! At this point we wait for the honeymoon.
Not you missed nothing Montepulciano and my home is hard to find people that attentive. I'm sure your entire trip was a success and that it will be 'well on your way together.
A hug and really heart hope to see one day. Manuela
Sei troppo felice e troppo simpatica!

About the Host, Manuela
