The space

San Francisco Short-Term Residential Rental Registration Number: STR150.

Just steps from 16th Street and Valencia, your stay in SF's Mission District means convenient access to some of the best chef-owned specialty restaurants in SF.
We're in the center of everything this vibrant neighborhood has to offer - dozens of great eateries, boutiques, galleries, specialty shops, abundant entertainment, famous murals, Dolores Park, a variety of clubs, historic sites (Mission Dolores, the original Levi jeans factory, etc).

Public transportation options to get around SF and the entire Bay Area are efficient from here; BART (subway) is 1 block away and provides easy access to civic center, downtown, Union Square, SF airport, Berkeley, Oakland, and the Bay Area. A 20-minute walk will bring you to Castro, Civic Center, SOMA, Lower Haight, Hayes Valley, and many more neighborhoods - all with great sights and much to see along the way.

San Francisco is a wonderful city and we love to share what we know; we have annual passes to museums (The deYoung and California Legion of Honor - though no promises since ticket availability depends on our schedules to obtain them).

We are a married couple with a sweet, well-behaved dog (never barks), able to host in Spanish, and love having guests. Come stay with us. Amenities we offer:

Great location, close to public transportation and many restaurants and bars. Feels like a home away from home.

I had the best time staying with Rafael and Mark. They gave me great advice about places to visit in the city, were beyond nice to talk to, and answered all of my questions. They really made me feel at home and comfortable (Mark even made me some fresh grapefruit juice! I LOVED it!). I appreciated the art on the walls, the deck with a garden area, and an amazing kitchen. If you like food, there are TONS of restaurants very close! I ate my way through the neighborhood. (Mark recommended walking down a street called Valencia; just a block away). We're talking anything you would want within walking distance: empanadas, chai, gourmet coffee, pizza, tacos, designer pastries, breakfast foods, ice cream sandwiches, Vietnamese noodle bowls, cocktails, and so on. Also, there are opportunities to see amazing street murals, beautiful stores, and every extreme imaginable. It is exciting and lovely. It was a peaceful home base for a visit filled with adventure.

How I wish I could give this place a terrible review because then I might find it available the next time I wish to book it....But, I cannot. This is the best place I have stayed in SF---I have been here several times in years past years and it remains the same. Why people waste money on the Ritz Carlton rather than staying here is a question that defies answer. And one may cook here which one cannot do at the Ritz! You won't find better. But please leave some dates available for me!

Rafael and Mark are two real lovely gentlemen. They helped me a lot and made my staying in San Francisco easier and great. The house is so lovely, strategically located in a lively neighborhood. I could not ask for more. Truly recommended. If I ever came back to San Francisco, I would choose Rafael and Mark's house. No doubt. Thumbs up!

I had a great time with Mark and Rafael. Comfortable home close to restaurants and nightlife in the Mission, and BART and Muni are just 2 short blocks away. But the best of the experience were the hosts themselves -- couldn't ask for nicer, more helpful guys to stay with.

Rafael And Mark User ProfileRafael And Mark is a superhost.

Easy going couple with a cute Jack Russell Terrier named Leonardo. Married in 2008, Rafael works in medical billing services, originally from Michoacan, Mex. and an excellent chef (previously a partner in a restaurant).

Mark is owner of an energy efficiency lighting co, an SF native who's also lived in Oregon and So Cal and traveled often.

Values-oriented, sustainability-minded, we cherish our community and the environment. We respect and appreciate people and creatures, wonder at life's awes, and have lots of laughs. We love to meet people, and to share our city and home.
