Great S. Congress Room -On Bus Line

House - Private room · Glen Meadow Drive, Austin, TX 78745, United States

The Space

Our home is located just off South Congress and Stassney on a bus line that takes you directly to Downtown. It's an amazing location where you can get to either highway, mopac or I-35, within minutes.

There are four different bus lines a block away that will take you directly to downtown, which is 4.5 miles away. The cost each way is $1.25. The bus takes 27 minutes to get to the heart of downtown because it stops on pretty much every corner. It's a 10 minute drive by car. Parking downtown during SXSW, ACL, or Rot Rally is a nightmare and will surely cost at least $10-$15 per day, so the bus is the best route - especially if you will be enjoying our wonderful southern beverages. Note that traffic during special events will get crazy. We are located 9.8 miles away from the Austin airport (ABIA); which is about a 20 minute drive.

Please go to the CapialMetro website to see the bus routes that serve our neighborhood. Our two closest stops are:
Congress & Little Texas
South 1st and Flournoy

The room has a queen sized Tempurpedic bed. It will probably be the best sleep of your life. The home has a good sized kitchen for your use and ample space in the backyard. If you prefer not to share a bed with your guest, we also have an inflatable mattress in the room. Next to the bedroom you will find the shared bathroom, and across the hall from your private room, you will find our awesome roommate.

We provide:
Clean Towels
Clean Sheets
Toiletries
Coffee (k-cup)
Beer
Water
Snacks
Hairdryer
Pool Towels (for Barton Springs)
Austin Monthly magazine
Use of washer and dryer
Use of our printer/scanner

Our wifi is fast and available throughout our house.

We have three small loving chihuahuas, who will bark at first but will quickly just ignore you. They're very friendly if you chose to pet them - but this is not required. :)

  • I really enjoyed staying at Jennifer's. The house and room were so clean and comfortable, the location was great, and Jennifer's three chihuahuas were the cutest co-hosts one could ask for. Slept so well in the quiet, peaceful space; appreciated all the snacks and local tips; and was impressed how easy it was to zip into downtown Austin (about a 10-15 min drive) and find parking wherever we went, even with SXSW wrapping up. A wonderful first time using AirBNB and first time visiting Austin!

  • Jennifer has a great house with a extremely comfortable bed. As I was in town for South by Southwest, my interactions with her were very limited, but they were very accommodating. The busses in Austin are very easy to navigate so no need to worry if you're traveling carless. Their dogs are very sweet as well. I highly recommend this room!

  • Very nice place, good beds, great coffee (beer and water in the fridge), cute dogs, very friendly hosts. Only one drawback: it is not close to town, but there is. Rapid bus taking you there in 25 minutes (the walk is 1 hour and 20 min)

  • Jennifer and her husband were great hosts. They were incredibly friendly and welcoming. The house was clean, and we slept so well on the VERY COMFORTABLE bed. It was easy to walk to the bus stop and take the bus straight into downtown Austin. We would definitely recommend staying with Jennifer.

  • Great place. Less than 15 minutes away from downtown ATX. Very safe and close to a bus stop (I drove so I didn't use the bus at all but I did see a bunch of buses coming and going). Very nice house. Friendly hosts. Great bed. There's not a whole lot to do within the walking distance from the house. Plenty of street parking. Safe. I would highly recommend this place, especially if you have a car.

  • Jennifer and her Husband graciously opened their home to my friend Danielle and I on short notice. It was an overall very hospitable environment; clean house, loving dogs, soft bed, room in the fridge (thank you!).
    We had a great stay!

  • Jennifer was an awesome host. She provided good tips about what's worth checking out in austin and was very accomodating. Her place was always clean and Oreo and Nilla were well behaved. Also, she isn't exaggerating about the bed. I sunk in and just about instantly fell asleep everytime.

  • Our stay at Jennifer's was fantastic! It is a beautiful home in a nice neighborhood, clean kept, and very comfortable. Kitchen is stocked and always clean, nice backyard and deck, and much room for parking. I also loved their 2 chihuahuas, cute, friendly, and fun =) First time using airbnb, and couldnt have asked for a better host nor place. Thank you so much!

  • This was my very first time using aribnb and I can not be any happier. Jennifer was always willing to answer any questions before, during and after my stay in her beautiful house. Everything was clean and in order. Her two dogs were lovely and easy going. I am just so happy I was able to find a great host during my stay in Austin. Her location was prime too. Just a straight 5-7 min drive to downtown. Loved it!

About
My husband and I love to host people. We love travelers in particular because there is always something new and exciting to talk about. We are passionate about Austin and could go on for hours about the best BBQ, best bars, restaurants, and activities. We are originally from different coasts, but have settled in Austin because it's outdoorsy, fun, and inviting. We want you to feel the same way about ATX! We have both hosted and traveled through AirBnB so we understand the process from both points of view! We hope to meet you soon!
