About this listing
We are a couple in our fifties, have lived in Queenstown for over 30 years. We have brought up our five children in this district.
We love travelling and enjoy meeting people from around the world.
Our home is on a peaceful 2 acres overlooking a magnificent vista towards one of our ski fields, Coronet Peak.
The bedroom has a Queen bed and a single bed.
We are centrally positioned in that by car, we are 10 mins from the international Queenstown Airport, 10 mins from the supermarket, 10 mins to central Queenstown and in the opposite direction, 10 minutes to the little historic village of Arrowtown.
We are a relaxed couple who endeavour to provide a comfortable, serene stay. We like helping people plan their day to day trips and are happy to spend time in the sun on our restful patio talking and getting to know each other.
Consideration for each other tops our list.
We are a relaxed friendly couple who just want to share our lovely spot with you and enjoy getting to know you.
We are happy to help you with your planning of day to day activities.
Kaye was a wonderful host. Made us feel very comfortable and at home. Loved our stay there.
Very good place to stay. Host was very kind and advised us a lot on the activities to do in Queenstown and places to eat. All in all, a wonderful experience!
Kaye was a welcoming and friendly host and she made sure she was home to show us around when we arrived.
Though she had to leave Queenstown after our first night, she prepared ample breakfast foods for our following mornings. Room was also comfortably warm even in the harsh winter.
However, bearing in mind that the rooms are priced on the budget-side, quality can still be improved.
There are only beds in the room, so living out of our suitcases gave us no space to walk. I also woke up with an increasing no. of insect bites over the course of three nights. Disclaimer: I was the only one out of 3 affected so maybe there was just a fly who really liked me.
Word of caution to less confident drivers: The road to and fro Queenstown has several slopes prone to freezing over and is very dark at night. We were not used to NZ roads nor wintry conditions so were rather on edge.
Kaye is a lovely landlady, who prepare some typical NZ breakfast for us and gave us some advises. this house give us the feeling as if we stand home, the old-fashioned hourse is hided in the fence and far away the main road, so it is a pretty quiet place, and you can enjoy the wonderful nightscape including the Coronet peak and galaxy, where we took a lot of pictures.
Was nice staying at Kaye's house, felt very welcome and was nice chatting. Great size room and very cosy. Very handy for going to Coronet Peak.
A great stay. Kaye is a wonderful host and has a lovely home. The facilities are clean and the beds are very warm with electric blankets. Her house is not far from queenstown, but is private and has a wonderul view too!

About the Host, Kaye
Hi There. I am married to Max and we have had five children. All over 20 now. We have travelled to the Uk. a couple of times but more so to Australia, Fiji and Rarotonga where we enjoy the sun and peace. We enjoy meeting other travellers as we intend to do more travel ourselves and enjoy hearing their stories. Our home is not a palace as it has had years of having normal family life but best described as rustic, comfortable and homely on two acres, being 10 minutes from Arrowtown, Queenstown and our international airport. Our views are spectacular looking towards Queenstown's famous ski mountain, Coronet Peak. If you are after company of a couple in their 50's who have lived in this district over 30 years, or you may be after peace and quiet, then this is where that is. We enjoy watching Rugby, have an appreciation of wine and enjoy meeting all age groups.
