The location is perfect. The house is absolutely wonderful. It's a really unique experience. We were three couples and we really enjoyed this special property even tough we missed the third bathroom. James was very kind to help us with the music that was another big bonus of the house.
We had a wonderful time staying at James' beautiful home. So much space - right in the middle of Paris!
Everything was as described and more. Beds were comfortable, sheet and towels clean, everything worked... which is not always the case in our experience.
We loved staying here and would highly recommend it.
James Paris home is absolutely spectacular! It is even more beautiful and spacious than in pictures! The location is centric, with so many places to enjoy. He is a great and thoughtful host that goes above and beyond to make your stay as joyous as possible. Parisian Charm is truly a gem! I strongly recommend that you experience it!
James' place is absolutely incredible! I rented the entire space for a holiday party for about 35 of my coworkers. Some of the rooms are like stepping back in time and everything is so well decorated. James was very attentive and very helpful with all the questions I had about the space. The kitchen is very large and well-stocked if you feel like doing a bit of cooking (we did a lot)! The area is very quiet and very secure. I'd like to give James and his housekeeper, Jhun, a ton of thanks for the use of the beautiful space and all their advice and help! It was a one-of-a-kind memorable Christmas.
I write this review with great pleasure, our stay in James's apartment was beyond our expectations...... Absolutely beautiful and extremely well appointed with everything you could possibly need and a Steam room too, which was fabulous after our long haul flights. James was so very accommodating and welcomed two of our travel companions early access to the apartment due to their early flight. We loved every moment in the apartment and the area was very secure which we enjoyed exploring a very beautiful part of Paris. Thank you James for making our stay in Paris a very memorable experience. We will be back and would love to stay in your beautiful apartment again. Kind regards, Deb
We had the most fabulous time in this beautiful apartment! Perfectly located to many great shops and restaurants, metro etc. The apartment is wonderfully appointed and we (3 teens and 2 Moms) felt totally comfortable in our home away from home. Although James was not there he made sure every detail of our arrival, stay and departure was taken care of. This was so much better than any hotel and I would definitely recommend this Parisian apartment!. We can't wait to go back!
Our family just returned from what we consider a once-in-a-lifetime experience as week-long residents in James' incredible Paris home. We highly recommend all aspects of this residence to those considering a vacation in Paris. We feel that the opportunity to reside in this well-curated, posh home would be well justified if it were in the middle of nowhere (and at night we felt like that - we did not ever hear traffic noise).
Yet, the home location could not be more central (we loved that it is just down the block from the Rodin Museum, a 5 minute walk to the Musee d'Orsay or the Eiffel Tower, a few steps from Secco bakery, around the corner from a Velib station, and just a few blocks from 3 metro options...).
This beautiful home surpasses every expectation. It is decorated with fine works of original art and collected antiques. The spaces are both large and luxurious. It is in the perfect, prime location within the beautiful city of Paris (in fact, a quick (website hidden) search of neighboring residences may be worth your time and reveal why this home is in one of the safest, police-lined streets of Paris).
We hope many of our friends and loved ones will have the opportunity to interact with James and stay at 55 Rue de Varenne in the future.
We would love to return and hope to have the opportunity in the near future. Thank you James, for your kind hospitality.

Superb accommodations. Fantastic location. We were well taken care off. Highly highly recommend.
James' home in the very quaint 7ème was like a dream! From the moment I arrived in Paris and contacted James and his friends Luca and Carolin I was welcomed as if I had known them for years! The home is magnificent and very, very comfortable. It was as if I had been transported back in time to the early 20th century. The home is beautifully decorated and well appointed. The area is very safe and has many nice restaurants, shops and is very easy access to the metro from the Rue de Bac station. It is a lovely 5 minute walk to the Bon Marché, which is a must visit when in Paris! I look forward to my next trip to James' home!
