Come stay in our cozy garden-level apartment with fun vintage furnishings in the hip and vibrant East Humboldt Park neighborhood. Close to Wicker Park and Logan Square.

The Space

This is our garden level apartment, if you want a bit more privacy than the bedrooms we rent in our living space - we are just upstairs on the top two floors! It's old-fashioned, vintage-y, and cozy. Lots of original old woodwork that is in various states of restoration, wood floors, morning sunlight through the living room windows, and access to our backyard with garden area! You might even get to sample some of our raspberries and tomatoes we've got growing out back if you come at the right time of year.

We're looking forward to hosting you in our sweet old-fashioned house, and hope to share one of the west side's up-and-coming neighborhoods with you!

Guest Access

There are three available bedrooms: two with full-sized beds, and the third is a small alcove that sleeps one person in a single bed. In total, the apartment can accommodate up to 7 people, with the use of the fold-out couch in the living room. NOTE: the fold out couch is on the small side - if you are over six feet tall, it'll be short for you. There's a large eat-in kitchen, and we'll make sure the cupboards are stocked with coffee, tea, and granola for breakfast and snacks!

In terms of modern amenities, your stay will be on the charmingly old-fashioned side! We've stocked the place with some of our favorite records, and a console radio with built-in bar ((email hidden) fixings!). There's no T.V., however you will have access to our house-wide wifi, which is pretty fast, and there's lots to do in Chicago, so get outside and explore!

We provide fresh linens and lots of towels for your stay, and if you need to do laundry, it's available in our living space upstairs, and we're happy to accommodate you - just let us know.

We're also happy to loan you the use of bicycles during your stay, and there's a bike shop three blocks from our house if anything comes up while you're borrowing them.

Interaction with Guests

This apartment is completely separate from our living space upstairs. The house is old, so you'll definitely hear us walking around above you from time to time, and we'll probably hear you a bit, too. If you have a hankering for some company, or want to share a meal with us, you're welcome to come upstairs and say hello! If you prefer to have a private stay, we're available if anything should come up, but otherwise will leave you to explore and enjoy on your own.

The Neighborhood

We are in the East Humboldt Park neighborhood, which is a diverse neighborhood with quite a few walkable restaurants, bars, coffee places, and art galleries. You also have the largest non-lakefront park in Chicago three blocks away - Humboldt Park - with beautiful lagoon, boathouse, field house, nature areas, and the Puerto Rican Institute of Art and Culture. Wicker Park and Logan Square are adjacent neighborhoods to us, and very easy to get to - it's a hip and trendy part of town.

Getting around

We are located close to two East-West bus lines - the #70 on Division, and the #66 on Chicago. Both will take you to the north side of downtown - the Gold Coast, Magnificent Mile, and Navy Pier - the ride will be about 30 minutes. If you want to get to the El, you can transfer to the Blue Line off of either Bus - and again, it's about 30 minutes to get to the loop by transferring to the Blue line.

On street parking is available with permits, which we are happy to provide. We also have an extra garage spot for a smaller car, if you're interested, for $10 extra per day. We are anywhere from 3 to 4 miles from points downtown, so if you are up for a drive downtown, it normally takes less than 15 minutes.

Other Things to Note

We also have a membership to the Art Institute, offering free entry for six adults, as well as discounts in the gift shop, and will share with you if you're interested.

  • Anna's place was just as described. It was the perfect solution for our group, allowing us plenty of space and privacy. The 6-year-old loved having her own kid-sized bedroom and especially liked learning how to use a record player and handle vinyl records carefully. We would definitely stay there again.

  • We had a wonderful stay at this neatly decorated Vintage style home. Anna and her husband were very helpful and kind. We had all we needed to have a pleasant stay.

  • We greatly enjoyed our stay at Anna's place! The place was clean and the vintage motif was cool. My teenage kids loved using the record player and old albums, especially when we told them there were more songs on the other side of the albums:^) We definitely recommend this place for others visiting Chicago.

  • Everything about this place was excellent. Anna met me at the flat and was very accommodating and friendly. We had everything we needed, towels, etc. and she even left us some fresh milk, cereal and granola. The place is beautiful, the location is excellent - parking, cafes and bars nearby, Western Ave. only 3 blocks away for public transport, and the free parking on the street was really helpful. I would recommend it to anyone and will be staying there again myself in future with any luck!

    Cheers Anna!

  • What a great first air bnb experience. The apartment is everything that the picture shows except the great location. Just a short walk from the best burger that I have ever eaten at The Lockdown Bar and Grill to the $9 cab ride to The Emporium Barcade. This is a great place to stay. Anna was an extremely helpful host and you should take her up on the offer for the Art Institute tickets. With just a short drive to downtown, I know that I have found the place to stay the next time I come to Chicago.

  • The apartment was perfect - spacious, well-equipped, and full of interesting furniture. It was really well-located in a peaceful neighbourhood but close to all the bars and restaurants on W Division St and Wicker Park. Local transport was great, with buses and a fairly nearby metro station, and it's pretty easy to cycle into the city centre (less than half an hour). Anna was an excellent host - welcoming, always available to answer any queries, and full of good suggestions. I would absolutely recommend staying here.

  • Anna greeted us at the door when we arrived! Checking in and out was very simple. The beds were very comfortable and home was beautiful decorated. I suggest playing the record player, great music options!

  • Anna's apartment played a key role in our wonderful 3 night stay in Chicago. We were a family of 6, spanning three generations, and ranging in age from 17 to 82. The funky apartment was well suited to our needs, and situated within walking distance from some fabulous restaurants. We also got to try out the turntable, and were inspired to buy some of our own vintage vinyl.

Even before our arrival, Anna was amazing at responding promptly and graciously when we needed to make some last minute changes to our reservation. This will definitely be our go-to place when we get the opportunity to visit Chicago again.

  • Anna our host was great, she was prompt to respond to all messages and had great instructions/guide ready for us.

We got into town later in the evening for our Blues dancing event for the weekend and Anna's place was a great site for me and my friends.

    Beds were comfy
    Wifi was good
The radio/turntable was fun to listen too

    Would certainly stay with again
