Charming little cottage in the woods of Kaloko. Located conveniently above Kona town at 2700 foot elevation, this private 1/1 house offers peaceful solitude and cool weather. Enjoy bird watching, nature hikes and the coziness this cottage has to offer. Beautiful grounds, yard and a safe neighborhood.
Full kitchen, full bath with tub/shower and stackable washer/dryer. Two decks, gas grill, propane wall heater, king bed. tv/dvd, beach accessories and all the amenities you'll need for your Big Island adventure! Bring along your laptop as we have 4G wireless internet in the cottage. Basics like soap, linens, paper towels, laundry soap and creamer/sugar are included. While you're here inquire about our farm fresh eggs. We have 5 happy hens that roam the 5 acre property as well as our cat and dog brood. They are all very friendly and enjoy meeting our guests!
We are approximately 10 minutes up the hill from the Kona International Airport and 15 minutes from Costco and the Kailua Kona town. Very conveniently located to some of the best restaurants and beaches. Tour Mountain Thunder Coffee Farm just up the street from us!
We recommend renting a car as there isn't really any public transportation here in Kona. You do not need a 4 wheel drive vehicle unless you are very serious about off roading. Most places are accessible by car or short walks. Come up and enjoy our cool mountain retreat!

Interaction with Guests
We work outside the home during the day but are home in the evenings if guests need anything or want to say hi. We have 3 dogs, 4 cats and a flock of chickens that love attention!
Kaloko Mauka is so lush and beautiful! Take an off road hike just up the street or tour Mountain Thunder Coffee and sample their wonderful Kaloko coffee.
Renting a car is a must on the Big Island. Their is not a bus system running through the Kailua Kona area. You do not need a 4 wheel drive to get to our neighborhood.
