We recommend renting a car as there isn't really any public transportation here in Kona. You do not need a 4 wheel drive vehicle unless you are very serious about off roading. Most places are accessible by car or short walks. Come up and enjoy our cool mountain retreat!
Lots of privacy in their own grassy yards.
Interaction with Guests
We work outside the home during the day but are home in the evenings if guests need anything or want to say hi. We have 3 dogs, 4 cats and a flock of chickens that love attention!
Kaloko Mauka is so lush and beautiful! Take an off road hike just up the street or tour Mountain Thunder Coffee and sample their wonderful Kaloko coffee.
Renting a car is a must on the Big Island. Their is not a bus system running through the Kailua Kona area. You do not need a 4 wheel drive to get to our neighborhood.
Hi! My name is Caroline Carson. My husband Scott and I have lived here on the Big Island for 19 years. Originally from Oahu, we decided to move here to start a family and to start our own business. We have 2 children as well as 3 dogs, 6 cats and 5 chickens! We live on 5 acres in one of the most beautiful places on the Big Island called Kaloko Mauka. We are close enough to the heart of Kona, and yet removed from it all up here on the slope of Mount Hualalai. Cooler weather, lush foliage, native birds and hiking trails surround us. Come and enjoy this slice of Heaven!
