This was for us better than a hotel as there was much more room to spread out. All the basics were there including hair dryer, towels and shampoo. The rooms were very clean. I should have asked about opening windows as that is why I use Airbnb as I would prefer fresh air to the A/C for sinus reasons. This room had lots of windows but I did not see any screens so I didn't open windows and used the overhead fans and kept the A/C off. The other issue of us was that there were no instructions as to how to use TV so although it was there we were not able to use. The hosts were out of town so we never met them. I didn't want to disturb them on their vacation to ask for instructions and it seemed it could be complicated. I would just recommend some written instructions for the guest house. The only other irritation which other reviewers mentioned was how to enter and exit the Guest House. There was a gate with a wrap around bike type of lock so each time you came and went you had to unlock and lock the padlock. In the dark it was difficult even with the use of our iPhones to add some light. And when we arrived we needed to get the keys from a lock box on the gate .Again in the dark this was not an easy feat and a bit irritating after a flight, getting a rental car and driving to the home. The bed was a Murphy pull down bed which was okay for the first night but after the 2nd and after the 2nd our backs hurt a bit. The neighborhood I would rate a C+. Sat night was hard to get to sleep as there was a loud party going on somewhere nearby and each morning we would awake to dogs barking about 6:30 or 7:00. Of course these are just elements of being in a neighborhood and we appreciated the savings over a hotel as well as the free parking
The house was amazing. Dave was very welcoming. I would definitely recommend it!
Stephanie snd David are great hosts. Super friendly, and helpful with suggestions of places to visit while in las vegas. We traveled to visit with friends and david's suggestions were spot on.
Their dogs were very sweet, and the chickens were a hoot to watch while taking their dirt baths. They welcomed our kitties too which was a delight for us.
The pool house is really beautiful, and the light was amazing. Nicely appointed, and well designed. The bed was very comfy too. It is a very lovely space, in a lovely neighborhood.
5 miles from the strip, you could use transit system or car. 5 miles to the airport; the flight paths flank the sides of the location, and helicopter tours are nearby as well for those that want to enjoy vegas by air.
Thanks guys! We had a great stay.
Stephanie and Davids place was amazing, filled with light and decorated cozy and cute! I was in town on business and staying here made my whole trip less stressful! The location was an easy 10 minute drive to the convention center and anything on the strip!
We had a great time in Vegas! Stepanie's home was a perfect private setting to relax and enjoy our down time in the city of sin. The poolside apt was beautiful and clean, would definitely recommend this place.
I really enjoyed the guest house. I'm a business traveler and the lock on the gate was a little weird at first but no problem really. While there, I attended meetings, a trade show and the associated evening parties. I liked that I had a quiet and private escape from the hype. I'm bummed I didn't get to use the sauna. Maybe next year. There's a Smith's grocery store right around the corner which is open 24 hours and a Starbucks even closer that opens at 4:30 am. The space was spotless and had everything I needed. Even a steamer for my suite coats. I hope it's available when I come to Vegas in January 2016.
I am an Interior Designer and my boyfriend David King is a professional musician. We live in a hidden gem of a neighborhood in Las Vegas just minutes from the strip. The homes in our neighborhood were built in the late 50's and 60's. Most homes are ranch style or mid century modern such as ours. We are active in the las Vegas scene and can guide guests any direction in relation to dining and entertainment.
