Our home is a cozy 1941 brick Cape Cod with original design and hardwood floors. We live in an established residential neighborhood near local businesses. Make yourself comfortable on the backyard deck overlooking a native landscaped setting. Peaceful Place is an open (336 sq ft) upstairs room with a double bed and comfortable futon mattress, a pleasant sitting area plus work table and a small fridge. There is a shared bathroom on the first floor. You may use the kitchen and even have Rob's delicious steel-cut oats for breakfast or cold cereal with almond or soy milk. Washer and dryer are available in the basement. Park in the driveway or the 2 car pull-in across the street.
Located in the Southland area, we are 3 miles south of downtown, just 2 miles from University of KY and on a city bus route. We are about 2 miles from the University Arboretum which has a new Children's Garden, native plantings and the "Walk Across Kentucky" trail. We are a couple of miles from the UK football stadium.
There are several restaurants within walking distance: the Good Foods Market and Cafe - a vibrant place (cooperatively owned and open to the public) with wi-fi available, Marikka's Restaurant and Bar, Subway, and other restaurants. The Curry House (Indian cuisine), with its great lunch buffet, is just a 15 minute walk.

We extend an open invitation to join us contra dancing downtown at ArtsPlace.
Jackie and Rob are truly amazing hosts! They created a home away from home for me which I truly appreciated. If I'm ever back in Lexington I would stay with them again.
I recently stayed with Jackie and Rob for almost a whole month on a medical school rotation and I am so happy that I found their place on airbnb. The house was clean and on a quiet street within walking distance of the coop grocery which had a hot food and salad bar every day which was healthy and delicious. The house was also a close drive to downtown and the UK campus where I was working. Jackie and Rob were such friendly and courteous guests and always willing to accommodate to my busy and erratic schedule. They always gave great suggestions on restaurants and other fun activities in the area. The room upstairs where I stayed was large and had a nice bed and desk. While I was there, they even installed a TV and personal refrigerator in the room which was very useful for my extended stay. I would highly recommend them to anyone for either a short or long trip. I will definitely be arranging another stay there at the house next time I am in the area.
Wonderful place to stay with welcoming hosts!
We had a great time staying with Jackie and Rob over the weekend. They are incredibly nice people, and were very accommodating and great hosts. They let us park in the driveway, offered us breakfast and tea in the morning, and even provided good conversation.
The house is conveniently located in Lexington. The upstairs room has plenty of space and privacy. It has some furnishings like a small table and chairs you could sit and eat at, and a rocking chair for relaxing or reading some of the books in the bookshelves. There's also a basket with extra blankets just in case you need any.
We were definitely glad we stayed there, and wouldn't hesitate to do so again if we are ever in Lexington.
Jacquelyn was a wonderful host. Unfortunately, my stay was very short but when I had to arrive late, I was greeted warmly. She had clean towels and sheets waiting. I couldn't have asked for a nicer place. Extremely thankful to Jacquelyn and Rob!
Jacquelyn and Rob were my first airbnb experience and I couldn't have asked for more! Their lovely home is just outside beautiful Lexington and the room is so cozy it felt like home. It's also just a 5 minute walk around the corner to the co-op for groceries if need be. They were great to chat with and gave me some good pointers for my short stay in town. I only wish I could have stayed longer.
A wonderful, clean and friendly retreat with lovely hosts.
Rob & Jackie were delightful, down-to-Earth hosts. The large upstairs bedroom was a lovely retreat after long days at a horse training clinic. The nearby food co-op was wonderful for breakfast. And when I wanted to find the best Kentucky mint julep, Jackie suggested Shakespeare, a classy but casual & charming restaurant downtown where I had the most heavenly mint julep made with Four Roses Small Batch bourbon. We'll definitely be back whenever we visit Lexington.
I had a great time staying with Jacquelyn and Rob in their home. They had some great pointers to some local restaurants to check out (you have to try the fried chicken at DeSha's) and even put me in touch with one of their friends to get ideas about what to see while I was in Lexington.
The room was clean and quite large. They offered me their parking space which was very nice. If you're looking for a room for the night and a launching point to check out Lexington, I can think of no better place!
Jacki and Rob are simply wonderful. They made me feel at home and were always available to help. The house is quiet and is great for people having some work in Lexington or passing through. This trip is probably one of my best Airbnb experiences to date.
