Description

The space

My apartment features a big dining table where I love to gather my friends and explore new cuisines in front of the fire place. This also makes my kitchen a busy place full of fragrance, where you can feel free to experiment.

The bathroom is a small piece of Morocco, with Marakesh Design tiles and tadelakt walls. Here you can get a real spa experience with my waterfall shower, to rejuvenate after a long journey or a hike in the nearby mountains.

I've been told that it's hard to wake up early, as the bed is super comfy and you have the option of pulling down the bedroom blinds to escape the long bright Norwegian summer night.

But then again if you're an early bird, wake up rested to a soft light that fills the space with bliss.

Guest access

You will have access to the whole apartment, feel at home!

Interaction with guests

I enjoy company and showing my guest's what Bergen has to offer, and I would very happy for you to come along to a gig, beer, hike, coffee, swim or rock climb. Also I'm happy for you to suggest an activity, maybe we could just hang in the park close by and try my slack line?

Sometimes I would be too busy to hang out, but I'm always happy to suggest cool local spots for you to explore.

I've traveled a lot and I know the importance of a quiet space and to feel at home away from home. I try to accommodate for this, if that is also what you need after a long day full of new experiences.

The neighborhood

I love the urban feeling of being close to everything the city has to offer, but at the same time the nature is right there at our door step.

Getting around

You're basically right in the middle of "the action", bryggen and the fish market is only a short walk away. But if you prefer to catch the bus, find out from when and where it runs by plotting in the details on 's travel planner.

If you arrive by car there is no free parking close by, but you can find a parking house at Birkebeiner Senter near St. Marys Church.

Other things to note

My boyfriend Javi also lives with me when he's not working abroad.

House Rules
Check in is anytime after 1PM

Keep it neat and tidy, shoes off and do the dishes.

Save electricity and turn the heater off in your room in the day when you're not there. Do not cover the heater, it can catch fire.

Reduce, reuse, recycle. I provide canvas shopping totes and empty jars you can borrow for your grocery shopping. I try to minimize the plastic I bring back to the house. From May you can also shop package free in the new Zero Waste grocery I'm opening in town, check us out at Raavarene, in Skostredet and on the Internet.

Respect the neighbours and keep the noise down.

Hilde's place is every bit as beautiful as pictured. I did not meet Hilde because she was away on vacation, but the check-in arrangement was seamless - her friend met me at the flat when I arrived, and gave me many great tips around town. The location of the flat is unbeatable - the windy, picturesque streets are a pleasure to explore. The neighborhood is about 10 min walk from Bryggen, without the constant stream of tourists from cruise ships. My favorite place nearby is actually the remains of a stony rampart just 5 minutes walk away - on a nice day locals picnic on the grassy patches and watch the sunset over the sea. I would highly recommend Hilde's flat as a homebase to explore Bergen, a town that is story-book perfect in sunshine and clear skies! (I was told by the locals I got very, very lucky with the weather)

Hilde was a a very easy host to deal with, she actually was on Holiday herself and heading out of the country. But communication was still easy and the flat served as a good place to explore Bergen and the mountains. It's in a nice neighborhood close to shops and the town center.

We really enjoyed staying with Hilde for a month. Beautiful apartment and located really well, just a short walk from the city center and so close to the mountains. Hilde took great care of us and we couldn't have had a better month. Will absolutely recommend it!

Hilde's apartment was perfect for a few nights in Bergen. The apartment is really cute and is only about a ten minute walk to the wharf. Hilde is very friendly and accommodating.

I'm a bubbly person that loves to have friends around my lovely home, experimenting in the kitchen or enjoying a glass of wine in front of the fire.

My biggest passion is to travel and meet new people, I just returned from a year sabbatical around the world. At the moment I'm working from home, trying to settle into routines where yoga and walks in the surrounding mountains is a must to make me happy.

I enjoy company and showing my guest's what Bergen has to offer, and I would very happy for you to come along to a gig, beer, hike, coffee, swim or rock climb. Also I'm happy for you to suggest an activity, maybe we could just hang in the park close by and try my slack line?
