Spacious and bright appartment in Prenzlauer Berg area, close to the S (direct from Schönefeld S 9) and U bahn, grocery stores & restaurants nearby. Also very quiet at night, no traffic or subway noise.

Michel & Ann's house was LOVELY. 2 friends and I stayed, we each got our own room and felt very comfortable. 1 person had to go with a single bed, but everything was clean, tidy and pleasant. The kitchen and lounge were really nice, simple and stylish, the lounge in particular very spacious and relaxing. Upon meeting Michel for the keys, he was very responsive on the airbnb messaging app, and friendly, welcoming, polite in person. In terms of the area, we couldn't have picked a better spot. We were close to trams and trains, and the area contained ample trendy coffee shops and restaurants. The nearby Mitte area had loads of awesome boutique clothing shops - we ended up spending a good 7 hours shopping there! Lovely trip, made all the better by our clean/tidy/stylish flat, and top owners. Highly recommend.

We enjoyed our stay at Michel and Anne's place. It was very much as depicted in the photographs: bright and comfortable. We found it very convenient for transport: the tram stops around the corner and the trains are a few minutes walk away. There are food shops and restaurants close by ( we enjoyed the Italian Trattoria and the Asian Fusion- both on the doorstep and convenient if you've been out all day and want to eat locally). If like walking there are places to find on foot such as a Saturday food market on Kollwitzstrasse and a Sunday flea market (Mauerpark).

My husband and I stayed at Michel & Anne's place with our 2 year old son March 2017. We have been to Berlin several times, but this is the second time that we have stayed in the Prenzlauer Berg area. This was our first time at Michel & Anne's. Overall, the location of the apartment is pretty good. It is relatively near grocery stores, some restaurants, shops etc... very close to transportation which is nice. The apartment is on the 5th floor without a lift, so if you are physically challenged I would not recommend their place. It is a large apartment and tastefully decorated with mostly modern furniture. The apartment is actually quite well equipped (for Europe standards) with a lot of extras like Saran Wrap, shampoo, laundry soap, extra toilet paper etc.. They have a high chair for families and I think they do provide a pack and play, if requested. Although, we did not need it as we brought our own. The king bed in the back bedroom is extremely comfortable. I did find communication with Michel & Anne to be a bit lacking. I received an initial message from Anne when I first booked (several months before our trip) with her mentioning that she would send me check-in information soon and then never heard from her. It wasn't until a week before we left that I had to send a message of my own and then never heard back until a few days later. By then, I was so busy getting prepared for our trip etc.. that I forgot to get back to them about a request in regards to tax information (still no check-in details) and it wasn't until the day that we arrived that we were able to communicate to get actual check-in details. When we did arrive at the apartment, the cleaning lady was still cleaning well past the actual check-in time, which I found very inconvenient given that we had been traveling for well over 25 hours by that point and were exhausted. In addition, the cleaning lady didn't empty the washer and I was left tending to the wash that she hadn't finished by the time she left. The apartment is listed as a 3 bedroom, but only 2 of the beds were made up when we arrived. The other bedroom was stripped of any linens or pillows and were nowhere to be found. This seemed very odd to me, since the apartment is listed as a 3 bedroom and that is what we are paying for. Regardless of the number in our party, since we are paying to stay there, we should have the ability to choose which bedroom we would like to use. These are relatively minor issues, but things that attribute to the overall experience. At the end of the day, we did enjoy our stay. We love the Prenzlauer Berg area and will most likely be back again as we have family here in Berlin. If you...
