Perfect location. Easy and fast communication with host. Clean space. Comfy bed. Thanks!
Pros: we're offered free breakfast that was not in the listing. Andre was super cool and helpful. The place was phenomenally clean.
Cons: 1) We were moved to another room just before our arrival. The only thing I care is if the bed is comfortable but the new room has a bunk futon bed which cannot be really comfortable. 2) You need to pay extra cost like 14% tax on your arrival. Cash only.
Unfortunately, we had to move Sunmi to our other house at the last minute due to some repair work. The replacement room is bigger and the bed is a double sized bunk. It has a regular double mattress on it - not a futon mattress. We have never had anyone complain about the comfort, rather stated it was very comfortable.
To make up for the inconvenience of having to move Sunmi, we were able to offer free breakfast. As stated in the room description, tax of 13% is collected upon arrival (8% for the state and 5% for the city.) We don't include it in the price so as to save our guests some money - otherwise they would have to pay AirBnB's 12% fee on the tax as well.
Even though I stayed just one night, I was very happy to stay at the house in Spruce St. Everything was clean and tidy. It takes about 25 min walking to the Falls. Andre picked me up from airport and made pancakes for all lodgers, we had a great breakfast! Thank you Carroll and Andre!
We did not meet Carroll but she had prompt responses when we had queries which was much appreciated. We opted to ask Andre to pick us up from the airport when we arrived and send us to the airport when our trip was over and we're glad we did! Andre shared lots of info about the beautiful little town including places to eat and excellent instructions on getting to and from the Falls. He advised us to catch the final fireworks of the season in end October which we did! The house was cosy and clean, and we enjoyed the walk down to the town and the Falls, and up the street to a charming American diner (the kind you see in movies!) with delightful pancakes, bacon, eggs and homestyle fries for breakfast. We were a little surprised to see that Niagara is a sleepy town - the busy part of town is near the Casino, while further up there are a few unoccupied shop lots. Andre mentioned that the Canadian side was far more commercialised and he was right - we could see the crowds and huge buildings from where we were on the US side. Although we didn't go to the Canadian side, we do believe Andre was right when he said that the American side was more picturesque. The leaves were just turning to golds and reds and was a beautiful backdrop for the Falls. Thanks, Carroll and Andre, for the awesome stay!

About the Host, Carroll & Andre
We are avid travelers and running this guesthouse allows us some freedom in the off season to do just that. Carroll spent most of her career in Human Resources but gave it all up (darn) a few years ago to open this guesthouse & hostel - leaving the wonderful California weather behind but gaining a wonderful husband. Andre is from Germany and we found each other here!
