Description

The space

This traditional house renovated recently by some of Fez' best craftsmen is a replica in a smaller scale of the stunning palaces which hide behind the high walls of the Medina. The exquisite decoration includes samples of most of Morocco's traditional handicraft: sculpted plaster, decorative iron grills, colourful handmade tiles, tadelakt, ceramic, etc... Furnishing combines the luster of Moroccan tradition with western comfort.
It is ideally situated in a quiet area two minutes's walk from the two main axes of the médina. You are close to the museums, gardens, souks and old Palaces, stroll away from main historic monuments, craft shops, craftmen's workshops and the famous tanneries The house is tucked at the middle of a well lit, narrow quiet street, and it is a beautiful sanctuary to return to after your day of exploration !

On the ground floor two enormous doors open from the furnished patio to a beautiful Moroccan sitting. On that floor are also located the kitchen and one private hammam that is used as a bathroom. On the first floor two bedrooms, one with a double bed and the other with a three single. From the roof terrace there are stunning views of the medina with mountains in the background.
Our superb cook will prepare for you to order a variety of dishes and delicious pastry from the exotic fassi tradition.

The riad was located in the central of Fez's Medina which is terrific! Alleys were narrow and quiet inside the Medina but Hicham and the guide (we hired through riad) walked us each time. We saw a lot of things very very traditional there. People (Hicham and ladies who cook) hosted us were very helpful which made the trip in Fez even better:D

This riad is wonderful and a very nice stay in the Fez medina, close to several interesting places. The view from the roof is spectacular. The welcome and support team are friendly and highly professional. Hicham is a jewel. He helped us with all our requests. We greatly enjoyed the cooking class in the host's other riad and dinner was served there. The host made me feel welcome and everything was as stated in the listing. This was my second visit and I will return!

Rabia was very helpful leading up to our stay, she connected us with her local staff lead Hisham who was in contact as soon as we found ourselves in Fez. The riad gives a true impression of what it is to stay in the medina and overall the accommodations were perfect for our group of 3. Our host's assistant also helped us organize a guided tour of the medina one day as well as breakfast and dinner prepared at a second larger riad they manage. A great place to stay in Fez and would recommend.

There are so many things to love about Rabia's Riad in Fes. Most importantly, Hicham and Fatma were wonderful. Hicham met us as planned outside the ancient medina and took us through the winding alleys to Rabia's riad. During our stay he made all the arrangements we asked for. Fatma cooked wonderful meals and gave us a Moroccan cooking lesson. The riad itself was very nice--just like the pictures portray. It is a perfect size for 3-4 friends or a small family. The private hammam was a treat and the rooftop lounge was a great place to sit and watch over the medina. The riad was clean, safe, and included wifi. The beds were comfortable and the bathroom just fine. Travelers who enjoy living like locals will like Rabia's riad, and Rabia makes sure to answer your questions (via text) asap, so you never feel like you are alone. I'd recommend this riad to my friends and family for sure.
