About this listing
["votsalo" meaning beach pebble in Greek] is a cozy two-storey maisonette near Kalo Livadi beach, with a beautiful unobstructed view of the Aegean.
This is a very cozy and simply but gracefully decorated 1-bedroom home.
The living space is split in two floors, where the kitchen, wc, and dining & living space is located on the top floor, with access to two verandas from where you can enjoy your breakfast gazing over the aegean!
The italian designed kitchen is fully equiped with full size refrigerator, oven, and 4-burner stove to make you feel at home. Water kettle and coffee amenities are also available.
The L-shaped sofa in the living room opens into a double bed to accommodate 2 people.
The bedroom is located on the lower floor with direct access to the garden, and is furnished with a double bed, wardrobe, and dresser.
There is also a separate living space with two built-in sofas with very comfortable mattresses which serve as two single beds. This space is separated from the common through an arched window and doorway, but does not have the complete privacy of a closed-door bedroom.
The common area also has two single beds (set up with multiple pillows as sofas) and can accommodate an additional 2 people.
In total, the home can accommodate up to 8 people.
A full bathroom with a built-in mykonian style shower is located on the ground floor. Hot water is available through the use of a solar water heater so that hot water is always available. A washing machine is also available for use by our guests.
The view from the veranda and the garden is magnificent, as you can enjoy the entire bay of Kalo Livadi, and the open sea of the Aegean at your footstep. At night you can enjoy a drink on the veranda watching the ships go by, and enjoying the starry sky.

The house is located a short 15min drive from Mykonos Town, so a private transportation method is recommended (car, motorbike, or bicycle for the more adventurous travelers). Accessing nearby beaches and exploring the island can become cumbersome when relying to public transportation, and taxi service can be limited during the busy summer months.
The area is perfect for those looking for a relaxing vacation with easy access to beaches.
Kalo Livadi beach, one of the largest and most beautiful beaches of the island, is just a 5-10mins walk away, while the real gem of a beach is just a short 1 minute walk away - Loulos beach - known mostly by the locals and one of the best hideaways on a windy day (you'll appreciate it when you need it!!!!)
The windsurfer's paradise - Kalafatis beach - is also located only a 15 min walk away, next to the picturest fishing village of Ayia Anna.
All other beaches are within a 15 min drive radius.
A mini-market for the absolute essential supplies is located just a 10 min walk away near Kalafatis & Ayia Anna.
The town of Ano Mera is only a 10 minute drive away, where you will be able to find almost everything you wish, from groceries, vegetables, traditional bakeries, to a pharmacy and even a fishing supplies store!
Mykonos town is a 15-20min drive away, close enough when you need the town buzz, yet far when you don't!
Your shopping experience in Mykonos Town can include your typical tourist souvenir shops, to the ultimate haute couture experience, all within the labyrinth of the traditional mykonian streets.
Kalo Livadi beach is home to two beach bars / restaurants open all day for drinks, lunch, dinner, cocktails by the beach, anytime of the day.
Kalafatis beach is also home to several restaurants and tavernas, whereas Ayia Anna is famous for a traditional and picturesque fish tavern.
In Ano Mera and Mykonos Town you can of course find anything you wish, and more.
Local bus service runs from Mykonos Town to Kalafatis, and the nearest bus stop is less than a minute away. Service schedules vary throughout the year.
You can catch a taxi from the airport, the port, or from Mykonos Town, but they can be hard to find on a busy day or night. From the house, you will have to call for a taxi to pick you up.
If you plan on exploring the different beaches and areas of the island, we recommend you rent a car or motorbike.

I am originally from Athens, Greece but have lived in the US and Middle East as part of my studies and work requirements. Through my work travels, I have spent time with people from a variety of nationalities and enjoy sharing cultural experiences and learning from others.
I love the sun, the sea, the beach, and of course good food!
