The Space

NOTE: I strive to reply to inquiries within an hour (often sooner).

Our 2-bedroom, 2-bath top-floor condo backs up to a beautiful aspen grove, but is centrally located in the heart of Summit County's ski country. Keystone, Breckenridge, Copper Mountain and Arapahoe Basin are just minutes away. Need some groceries or drinks to celebrate after a day on the slopes? A newly remodeled grocery/liquor store is just 50 yards from our front door.

And no scraping snow off your car -- leave it in our private oversized garage, along with your skis or snowboards. Inside our 900-square-foot condo, you'll find everything you need to stay entertained:

* Brand-new furniture, including very comfortable queen-size beds in each room
* Fully stocked kitchen with oven, stove, microwave, coffeemaker (with coffee) and toaster
* Free and fast high-speed WiFi, plus 5-bar cell coverage
* A 50-inch flat-screen HDTV with expanded cable (featuring more than 70 channels, including four HBO channels and five ESPN channels) and a DVD player
* iHome docking stations to charge your iPhone or iPod and play music
* Back deck and bedrooms showcase views of the adjacent aspen grove and Buffalo Mountain
* Ski-in/ski-out Cross Country skiing

We provide all the amenities you expect at home, including comfy linens, towels, toiletries (soap, shampoo and conditioner) and ionic hair dryers. You can wash your clothes in the in-unit washer and dryer, using the laundry detergent and dryer sheets provided.

An abundance of diversions await you from your central location in Silverthorne. Summit Stage, the free county transportation line, picks up riders just outside your door and stops at ski and shopping destinations. Steps from the condo, jump on the Salt Lick trailhead to hike, snowshoe, cross-country ski or mountain bike as far as you’d like, across many miles of trails criss-crossing the adjacent U.S. National Forest land. Some of the best ski resorts in the world are a short drive away, such as Keystone (9 miles), Copper (12 miles), Arapahoe Basin (14 miles), Breckenridge (15 miles), Vail (32 miles) and Beaver Creek (43 miles). Access to Lake Dillon is 5 minutes away. Silverthorne and the nearby towns of Frisco and Dillon feature beautiful city parks and trails for running, walking and biking. The Outlets at Silverthorne are just down the road. For those seeking full-service indoor activities, Silverthorne’s 65,000-square-foot Recreation Center (5-minute drive; $12 daily fee, with a $2 daily discount coupon on its website) features a hot tub, a sauna, a spa, cardio and free weight equipment, a running track, a huge indoor aquatics area with a waterslide, racquetball courts and a variety of fitness classes for all levels.

For day-to-day needs, a Target, a City Market grocery store and an eight-screen movie theater are within a 5- to 10-minute drive. Lunch and dinner options are abundant at all price points, whether you crave fast casual or more formal options. More recommendations are included in the binder kept at the condo that we’ve assembled for your use.

  • Laurie's condo was spotless and in a great location; Laurie herself was an excellent and attentive host who responded very quickly to my emails and volunteered some really helpful information about hiking in the area. Particularly good was her suggestion to take the free shuttle to local trailheads, which we never would have known about without her. The only disadvantage was that it was fairly hot (for the Rockies) while we stayed there, and the condo is quite close to the interstate so the road noise is significant with the windows open (there is no A/C). Otherwise we had a very pleasant stay in a lovely area.

  • Laurie and Ryan were great hosts - accepting a very very last minute request and being very communicative through check in! The condo sits next to a little aspen grove, beautiful just looking at the windows. The place is spacious, great kitchen, very clean and simple - and the hosts provided lots of great board games! It's also in a great location! Easy access to numerous hiking trails and a quick drive to lots of local places (Dillon, Keystone, Frisco, Breck), activities and festivities.

Thanks you guys! It was a great experience for me and my family.

  • My (and two other friends') first ski trip to the Colorado slopes couldn't have been smoother, and Laurie and her condo definitely contributed to the great experience. Laurie was very patient and quick to answer any question I had. Everything that we expected and more was already at the condo. Clean and spacious, comfy beds, kitchen stocked with essential cookware, board games, and buckets for your snowy boots. The location is also very close to the outlet mall, Target, ski rental shops, and a bunch of restaurants. It's the perfect place to get back to after a long day of activities.

  • We just a great five day stay at Laurie's place and had a wonderful time. The unit is well appointed, so close to great ski/snowboarding choices as well as local restaurants, the Dam Brewery for billiards and refreshment (code for beer) and everything we needed to make our trip fun. Thanks for a great place to warm our boots by the fire (or the plastic bin by the front door where they were supposed to be!)

  • Laurie was a great host. She was very responsive to any and all questions and very knowledgeable about the area. I appreciated information on the local area and shops since we planned to cook our meals. She also provided information and discount sites for ski rentals, recreation facility and shops. The apartment was very nice, comfy and clean. Very helpful to have a dishwasher and washer and dryer, and dish and laundry detergent, too. Location was very convenient for our daily jaunt to Keystone for skiing. Would love to stay at Laurie's apartment the next time we're in the area!

  • Great location which was perfect for eating our or traveling to Keystone and Breckenridge. We'll keep this on our list of places to return to on our next trip. The garage was also very helpful for storing ski supplies and keeping the car out of the weather.

Laurie was a very gracious host. She provided information about rentals, ways to save money on lift passes, restaurant suggestions and etc. She also checked-in a few days into our visit to see if there was anything else we needed.

  • Great location near the interstate at a rate worth it. Lots of space in a very nice, clean condo set up. Appliances are nice, beds are comfy and towels/shampoo/dish soap/etc is all included.

A few things to note -- double check with the host for directions prior to arriving, (website hidden) Maps gets confused and sends you to the wrong place! They were great about getting us where we needed to be but it would have been a lot easier if I had thought to check in advance.

  • We enjoyed our stay at Laurie's condo. Everything was clean and in order when we arrived . Convenient location and Laurie was easy to communicate with.

  • Laurie was very nice and accommodating, not to mention very fast with responding! The condo was perfect for a weekend get-away: fully stocked kitchen, very cozy, and such a convenient location. Only 15 min from the slopes, and what a place to come home to after a day on the mountain! Walking distance from the liquor store, and a short drive to Target and the outlets. The furnace and washer/dryer were added bonuses. Really have nothing to complain about, and would definitely recommend this place to others. Would love to stay here again, thank you Laurie!

  • We loved this large condo and didn't want to leave! It was really perfect for our needs and super comfortable. We really loved the porch overlooking the Aspens and giant tv for cozy evenings. The trailhead is literally right next to the condo and our friends that live in Silverthorne say that it's one of their favorite hikes. It was a beautiful walk and we even saw a fox! The owners were very responsive, friendly and accommodating. We are planning on renting from them again next year too!

I'm a hopeful old soul. Affordable travel to new (and old) places is my favorite thing in the world, next to libraries and the family and friends I hold dear. I love experiences that immerse me in new cultures. My favorite activities include running, hiking, backpacking, skiing, healthful cooking and gardening. My favorite places in the world include San Francisco, Calif. (near which I grew up); Yosemite National Park; Florence, Italy; and Mount Whitney, which my husband and I summited after two attempts. I look forward to showing them to our newborn daughter someday.
