ABOUT US: We are very mellow, relatively quiet professional couple, and usually have some sort of regular schedule around productivity, eating, sleeping, and Dr. Who episodes. Personality-wise, we laugh a lot over silly things, and don't fight much, if at all. We're very happy together.
I am a professional costume designer, photographer, and all around artist. Most days I work out of the home, if I'm not out on a shoot. Tris, my husband, works a regular 9-5 gig in IT, for a financial company located downtown. We usually hang out in our room most evenings, either watching netflix or playing games...when the weather is nice, we get out more and go for walks with Rainbow, our dog, Peter Porker, the mini pig, and Princess Buttercup and Westley, our Nigerian Dwarf goats.
I've done my best to make this space feel inviting, clean, and comfortable, and it's an evolving work of art. Any suggestions for making it more so are welcome.
I would like to add, that if you are allergic to animals, or are uncomfortable in a house that has animals, we would prefer that you not book our space. The dog is an indoor dog, and the mini pig and goat, although they spend their days outside, are brought in and crated in the evenings, usually in our garage, so they are out of people's way.

Interaction with Guests
It depends on what is going on in my life, with work, and family.
My home is on a few bus routes, and there are a few stops within a few blocks either direction.
1. Please don’t leave towels on the furniture.
2. Please TURN LIGHTS OFF
when you leave, and keep the windows
closed if the AC/heat is on.
3. Please don’t feed any of the animals.
4. Please clean up after yourself.
5. My husband works a 9-5 job, so please
respect his sleep schedule.
6. If you are a smoker, please smoke on
the front porch.
7. I want to make your stay with us the
best experience possible. If you are
unhappy with anything at all, please
let me know, and I will remedy it.
I can be reached any time, day or night
by phone or by email.
** I will be basing my guest review
solely on your ability to follow these
seven simple rules.
We are looking to rent to respectful people, that are ok with loveable animals, and a professional artist and nerdy IT guy couple. I work from home, and my husband has a full time day job, and is usually in bed by 11pm. Weekends we are way more flexible with our sleep schedules.
I don't have any age restrictions. However, the room is not wheelchair accessible, and it is located up a small flight of about 6 or so steps. (it's a split level), so it may not be ideal for someone that is mobility restricted.
Also, we ask, that if you have any issue at all, we would prefer you speak with us directly about it while you are here, so we have a chance to address it right away, rather than remain quiet about it, and then write a bad review. We want you to have a pleasant stay, and hope that you would be kind enough to help us provide one.
I'm a longtime Austin resident (since '87), and am happy to fill you in on all the cool stuff in town to do, recommend restaurants, places to shop, and am always up for forays to Barton Springs or the lake in the summer.
I keep the place pretty clean, and expect guests to leave the room in decent shape when they check out. Please do not put wet towels on furniture, and do your own dishes & clean up after yourself in common areas. Also, please check that the AC or heat is not on before you open windows. I will take care of laundering sheets and linens, and cleaning after checkout.
We're considerate people, and expect you to be too. Please be nice to the critters as well.
I'm ok with smokers, as long as you smoke outside, and dispose of your butts in the ashtrays provided, since I have a tortoise and goat that roam around, eat the lawn, and might try and chomp on them.
Our stay was simply fantastic. The room is absolutely stunning, and very well set up. Jennifer was a brilliant host. She was upbeat, easygoing, happy to help us with directions or a ride, all in all incredibly kind and generous with her time. If you like the look of this place, book it ASAP. You won't regret it.
Jennifer was friendly and helpful. She gladly introduced us to all of her animals, the pig has grown up quite a bit from the pictures posted! The room was clean and looked just like the pictures. It was a nice night and she saw us off in the morning with a lunch suggestion.
Favorite AirBNB Austin place to stay - what can I say? Awesomeness all the way around!
Awesome, Awesome, Awesome! This was my very first AirBnB experience and it was phenomenal. I was looking for something different and off the beaten path and this ended up being the quintessential choice. Although my time was restricted with a convention to attend, Jennifer and Tris made every moment count. Jennifer was so nice and so accommodating that no request was ever a problem. I loved my Vampire Lestat room and the shower in the private bathroom never let me down. I wish I could have spent more time in the backyard with all the incredible animals (Goats! A Tortoise! A Pheasant!), but time would not allow....well, I guess I'll just have to come back. Highly Recommended!
very nice host - we felt welcome and comfortable throughout our stay. location was convenient to austin studios and outdoor activities like hiking and parks. roku tv in room was great. curtains kept the room dark in the mornings for sleeping in. host made us delicious coffee every morning!
Jennifer was welcoming and offered some good suggestions on places to visit in the Austin area. The bedroom was just as exotic as pictured, but we were surprised to pull up to a bright blue house with a huge egg on the lawn and large white fake flowers decorating a tree in an otherwise conservative neighborhood. Jennifer's sense of playfulness! Out of her large menagerie, we only saw the dog and goats.
Jennifer was very welcoming. She made breakfast, talked with us when we crossed, and even shared her expert knowledge of the city with us by printing out a map and offering us suggestions based off our interest. I appreciated the extra effort and local insight.
The pictures and description of Jennifer's listing were very accurate. Had I not booked the trip a week before, I would have though that the listing pictures were taken that morning. The listing lived up to the lash adjective used in the title and was very pleasant to return to at night during our trip.
Admiralty, we didn’t spend much time in the neighborhood, but I perceived it as safe and parking our car was not an issue.

Grew up a military brat, so am used to traveling and meeting new people. It gave me a deep appreciation for cultures other than my own. Am fairly friendly, and can get along with just about anyone, but every now and then I have a shyness attack, and will stare stupidly at you while the cat runs off with my tongue. This usually happens when I get stuck in a crowded situation where the attention is on me, but I'm fine one on one, or in small bunches of friends. I think that's normal for most introverts.
Love road trips and camping, and anything outdoors, and lean toward a more minimalist approach, as opposed to bringing the kitchen sink with me. I love all sorts of arts and crafts, and have a penchant for collecting power tools, which I like painting hot pink. Also love animals of all kinds...and I have all sorts, which keep me on a pretty regular schedule, or I have hungry ducks staring holes in me from the back porch.
I like to stay productive, and always have a few projects going at once, and have a never ending honey-do list, that I pick things off of regularly. I'm professionally crafty like that too, and have done just about all sorts of design work.
