ABOUT US: We are very mellow, relatively quiet professional couple, and usually have some sort of regular schedule around productivity, eating, sleeping, and Dr. Who episodes. Personality-wise, we laugh a lot over silly things, and don't fight much, if at all. We're very happy together.

I am a professional costume designer, photographer, and all around artist. Most days I work out of the home, sewing up in our room, or working out in the studio, if I'm not out on a shoot. Tris, my boyfriend, works a regular 9-5 gig in IT, for a financial company located downtown. We usually hang out in our room most evenings, either watching netflix or playing games...when the weather is nice, we get out more and go for walks with Rainbow, our dog, Peter Porker, the mini pig, and Princess Buttercup, our Nigerian Dwarf goat.

I've done my best to make this space feel inviting, clean, and comfortable, and it's an evolving work of art. Any suggestions for making it more so are welcome.

I would like to add, that if you are allergic to animals, or are uncomfortable in a house that has animals, we would prefer that you not book our space. The dog is an indoor dog, and the mini pig and goat, although they spend their days outside, are brought in and crated in the evenings, usually in our garage, so they are out of people's way.

  • Jennifer's place was great! Very eccentric in terms of the interior design, precisely what many have come to love about the Austin culture. In addition to the convenient location, and friendly hosts, there's a tight-knit family of cute critters that kept us entertained. Especially the dog, Rainbow.

I had a great stay and would love to return soon!

  • Couldn't ask for more friendly and helpful hosts. We really enjoyed meeting all their unique animals, and they gave us a lot of great ideas about where to eat close by. Unfortunately, their A/C was out when we were there. Seems unfair to judge the place given this irregularity, since this can make any small room feel stuffy, but it did also bring out an odor. However, once we opened the window in our room, the situation improved drastically, and we were able to breathe easy and get a good night's sleep on a very nice and comfortable bed!

  • Jennifer's place is really something special! It's beautifully and meticulously decorated and has a really fun vibe. We had a great stay during SXSW. Jennifer had all the best suggestions (Paco's Tacos and the pesto pasta at Austin Java) and she was even so kind enough to drop us off downtown so I could get to my gig on time. I would love to come back to Austin and stay here again.

  • I booked this room because it looked fantastic, how great isn't it to experience it's all true… The room was like a film set, with a very comfy bed:-) Jennifer and Tris were great hosts, very friendly and helpful. And meeting Peter Pork was of course a highlight. I hope to go back to Austin someday and will definitely book this room again!

  • Our stay with Jennifer was fantastic. She was a very gracious and accommodating host. She made our stay very comfortable. The room is amazing. Even better in person than the photos look. She was knowledgable about local spots for any occasion. I would highly recommend staying here if you are looking for some cool down to earth hosts with a great romantic room. The lil animals out back were super cute also!!! Overall great time. Thanks so much!

  • Great place - loved the creative flair. Unique and out of the ordinary. A great way to get introduced to Austin. We loved the local lunch places recommended. Made us feel right at home as well as inspired by the artistry around the house. Felt like staying in a theater set! Private bathroom is classy too - good water temperature and pressure. Only wish we had another day to enjoy this unique place.

  • Wow!
Just can't say enough cool things about these great hosts! Truly amazing! Everything that has been written by other guests is accurate and I'd like to add by saying quite simply, if there were more people on the works like Jenn & Tris, well, the world would be an even more magical and tranquil place! Absolutely the best home I've ever stayed in! Do not hesitate! In fact, I almost don't want to share! (Selfish secret) but I must. Everything from the truly amazing rooms to the central location and ease if access to the lovely company, was beyond imagination!
I'll be back, if anything, just for my soul!

  • Where do I start!!!! This visit was absolutely AMAZING!!! This was my first time being in a city and not staying at a hotel. I will never stay in a hotel again when I am in Austin. The room was amazing. The hosts were fantastic! If you going to be in Austin, TX make sure you stay here. A quick drive to downtown. There were eating and shopping places about 5 minutes away. Trust me....this is coming from a critical person. The only complaint I have is I hated to leave this room with a gorgeous bathroom. The hosts will always be contacts going forward. They are more than landlords. They are great people with a wonderful room!

Grew up a military brat, so am used to traveling and meeting new people. It gave me a deep appreciation for cultures other than my own. Am fairly friendly, and can get along with just about anyone, but every now and then I have a shyness attack, and will stare stupidly at you while the cat runs off with my tongue. This usually happens when I get stuck in a crowded situation where the attention is on me, but I'm fine one on one, or in small bunches of freinds. I think that's normal for most introverts. Love road trips and camping, and anything outdoors, and lean toward a more minimalist approach, as opposed to bringing the kitchen sink with me. I love all sorts of arts and crafts, and have a penchant for collecting power tools, which I like painting hot pink. Also love animals of all kinds...and I have all sorts, which keep me on a pretty regular schedule, or I have hungry ducks staring holes in me from the back porch. I like to stay productive, and always have a few projects going at once, and have a never ending honey-do list, that I pick things off of regularly. I'm professionally crafty like that too, and have done just about all sorts of design work.
