GREAT REAL TWO BEDROOM... WALK TO CENTRAL PARK, AND THE MUSEUMS. CLEAN, CLEAN, CLEAN!

The Space

RENT MY ENTIRE TWO BEDROOM! NOT A SHARE.

Each room comfortably sleeps 2 people.

In the case of a 5th person, there is a sofa bed

Most of my reviews come from when I rent out ONE BEDROOM. You would be renting THE ENTIRE TWO BEDROOM, and NOT SHARING IT with anyone!

NOTE:
Friday and Saturday evenings are noisy from a bar nearby and usually quiet the rest of the week. You can see as people have talked about this in the reviews... The more you head towards the back of the apartment (Bedroom 1), the quieter it gets.

Some people have used earplugs as a solution and others have been so tired from exploring NYC that they were so warn out and slept right though it.

  • The apartment was exactly as advertised and we were very happy about that. The noise on Friday night was very, very, very loud. The add did say the noise was less in the back room and this was not the case. I am not giving a bad review I'm just letting future guests know that it is extremely loud and we thought the band was in the apartment!

We loved the fact that we could go down to the street and buy groceries, wine and go to a great breakfast spot within a block or two. Getting downtown and to the park was very easy as well. If you are looking for a cool NYC neighborhood experience this is not the place. It has what you need near by thats all. We knew by the location that we would be cabbing it and taking the train to get to places we wanted to see.

It was clean and the price is right!

  • First off let me start by saying Erik was a really great host. As he met us he made us felt welcome. He was always in contacts with us, weather it was for questions, recommendations for restaurants or how to get around nyc. Erick apartment is perfect for two couples, perfect space for a nyc apartment. Location was everything for us. His apartment is in a safe neighborhood with a great breakfast spot two blocks down called the mansion. even though we were unsure how to get around, we learned how to take the subway.  Which was a nice perfect 15 -20 min walk from his apartment to the subway for us Californians hahaha... I would definitely contact Erik for any future trips to NYC to stay at his apartment again! Thank you for having us Erik

  • We had a lovely stay at Erik's place. It was extremely clean and quiet. I traveled with colleagues and we had plenty of room. It was comfortable and we would definitely stay there again. Erik was very responsive and easy to work with. Everything worked like clockwork.

  • We stayed at Erik's apartment for a couple of nights and everything was exactly as it is described. Although we did not have a chance to meet he gave very detailed comments as to where we needed to collect the keys, everything was very simple.
The apartment is quite big comparing to a decent hotel room at the same price and perfectly suits two couples, it is clean and comfortable, we really had good time there. You can find everything you need in there.
The place and neighborhood are just perfect, there are few bars and restaurants close to the building, central park is just a couple of blocks from the street and you can easily reach the city downtown. There are few stores just across the street, where you can buy food and wine.
In general everything was good and I will definitely contact the owner if we are back in NY.

  • I stayed in Erik's apartment in late April 2014 with another couple. Fits 4 adults comfortably.
The apartment including bathroom was very clean upon arrival. Bedrooms are a good size.

Location: great location!! Central park is about 6 blocks away, walking distance to a subway (about 10-15), safe neighborhood, lots of restaurants, bars, grocery, laundry, nail and hair salons near by. Much better than staying any where near times square, it makes you feel like your a real new yorker!

Erik: we had a few issues getting a hold of Erik on the first day but that was all sorted out. We didn't have an american mobile number so would email Erik if we had any questions. Always got a response back and was very helpful. Was easy going when we asked if we could have a friend stay on the couch for a week.

There is a bar downstairs which could be a good or bad thing for you (we loved it!). The apartment is above the bar so when the music is playing you can definitely hear it. We didn't mind it as we found ourselves having a drink there before going out or ending up there after a long day of exploring.

Overall great experience and would definitely recommend! :)

  • Hi!
My wife, me and our twindaughters on 17 spent fourtheen days in Erik's appartment during christmas and new years eve. The appartment was perfect for us. Comfortable beds and clean appartment, and restaurants nearby. Erik as a host is just super. Responding on our questions directly, and very friendly. I would recomend everyone to stay in Erik's appartment during the stay in NYC.

  • I stayed in Erik's apartment along with my husband and another couple over Thanksgiving Break and had an overall great experience! The apartment was clean, there were towels already there for us to use, as well as the basics for cooking (since we wanted to make our own Thanksgiving meal)-he even had a crockpot! The neighborhood he is in is also safe and there was never a moment where we felt unsafe or uneasy. Something I loved was that he let us use his computer to print off our show tickets on, which was a huge help! (There was no paper, however, which was kind of a bummer, but we ended up using the back of the itinerary papers he printed for us.) We absolutely loved that he gave us access to his computer while we were there as well as his wireless internet-two huge pluses to the stay! Not to mention the two flat screen TV's he has in the apt that are available to use. The very few downers that we had with the experience were minor and small. Like the living room area seemed smaller in person than we imagined it to be from the pictures. Now looking back at the pictures though, they ARE accurate, we were all just expecting it to be a little bigger. Not that it was super small or anything-it was a good size-we were just a little thrown off when we saw it, that's all. The other downer was the club music, which we already knew about, but wow, it really was LOUD! I don't think I was expecting it to be THAT loud. And lastly, I hated how far of a walk it was to get to the subway from his apartment. It was SO far away to me. I don't know if it was because it was so cold it made the walk feel unbearable, but that would be my reason for not staying at his apartment again. That walk just really bugged me. It didn't bother my husband or friends as much as it bothered me though, so it's all a matter of perspective, I guess, but I hated it. We already did so much walking as it was so to have to add that much of a walk on after the walking we already did was just too much for me. Even to start our day with an extra 15 minute walk was just a little unnecessary in my eyes. Everything else about the apartment was GREAT though! (Warning: the stairs to get to the apt are NARROW!) I do have one more thing about Erik though. Although he is a way cool guy & we really liked him & his personality, we didn't necessarily like that the apt wasn't ready at the 1:00 check in time. We based our day off of that check in time and him not being ready pushed our schedule back a little. So we weren't too thrilled about that part.

  • Erik's house is located in a very nice and safe neighborhood, just 5 minute walk from the subway, which was very convenient. There were plenty of restaurants close by. The apartment was very clean and spacious. We felt like at home. It was an amazing experience. Definitely recommended! Thank you Erik.

  • The apartment was neat and tidy and clean, and way more spacious than I expected. It is newly refurbished and is decorated in a way that makes it easy to make it your home away from home--no excessive knickknacks or stuffed-to-the-gills feeling that you can get in city apartments sometimes. It felt safe, even coming home very late at night. And speaking of which, this apartment is best for night owls and/or heavy sleepers since music from the bar downstairs pounds through the apartment until closing time, which in NYC is very very late. Erik was easy to work with, and he has put together an amazing guide to NYC and his neighborhood, which will be very helpful for first-time visitors. Be sure to visit Carl Schurz Park a few blocks away!

  • We were 2 couples that rented Erik's appartment for 3 nights during Easter weekend. I did not meet Erik as he was out of town but it was really easy to reach him and he answered all our questions by email or phone.

The appartment is ideal for 2 couples: large space, nice and clean rooms and it had everything we needed. It's close to a cute market where we bought fruits and many restaurants. A short 7 mins walk to the metro and we had no problem parking the car in streets nearby. The only negative aspect: the appartment is on top of a bar so it can be noisy, especially Friday's and Saturday's where they pump up the music untill 4 am - we bought earplugs!

I strongly recommend Erik's appartment, thanks Erik for making it easy for us to visit NYC, we felt at home!
