The Space

Experience the charm of New Orleans in this lovely, 2 bedroom, 1 bath apartment in quiet, residential, Uptown neighborhood.

Location: Uptown New Orleans, three blocks to St. Charles Avenue (and streetcar).
Accommodation: Apartment: 2 bedrooms, 1 bath.
Sleeping arrangements: Two queen beds and one queen sleeper sofa.

The apartment is on the second floor of a Victorian house with a small balcony overlooking a classic New Orleans streetscape. You enter into the living room which is open to the dining area and kitchen. One bedroom is in the front with access to the balcony. The second bedroom is in the back so you have two private bedrooms unlike many houses in New Orleans where you have to walk through one bedroom to get to another bedroom on the bathroom. This bathroom is off the living room. The apartment is fully furnished and features hardwood floors, eleven foot ceilings, ceiling fans, central air and heat, wireless internet, flat screen LCD HDTV with cable, washer, dryer, gas stove, and microwave. Parking is available on the street.

The location is excellent, less than three blocks to the famous St. Charles streetcar for a ride downtown to the French Quarter or uptown to Audubon Park, Tulane and Loyola. Six blocks to the Mardi Gras parade route along Napoleon and St Charles. Cafes and restaurants are around the corner or within blocks. Magazine Street with all its restaurants and boutiques is a short walk as is Freret Street with a monthly festival and many new restaurants.

Among our favorites just around the corner is a Il Posto, a European café which is great for a quick breakfast, lunch or dinner. Two blocks away are Charlie’s steakhouse and Pascal’s Manale, a seafood restaurant. Manhattan Jack nearby has the best bagels in New Orleans as well as all sorts of other wonderful baked good, sandwiches and weekend brunch. The list of great places to eat in New Orleans is endless. We live downstairs and are available to answer questions or to offer suggestions.

This is a wonderful place to stay for your visit to New Orleans and enjoy all the fun and charm of this unique city!

  • Everything was so perfect for our needs!

Communication is how things start off and it was great from the beginning to end. Pat checked in with us, but nothing about our communication was overbearing.

The actual apartment is large for city living. We loved the space--clean, so comfortable, not to mention the character you'd associate with historic NOLA.

The location was perfect. Walkable to St. Charles street/street car; to Magazine Street, to parks galore. Great little restaurants around.

  • I recently rented Pat's apartment for a long weekend with friends and we couldn't have had a lovelier time. Among the advantages are its size and location. Blocks from historic Saint Charles Avenue (and the streetcar), we were able to easily access innumerable restaurants and shops in the Uptown and Garden District neighborhoods. The apartment comfortably slept five adults, and came loaded with a variety of amenities that made us feel well cared for. As a frequent visitor to New Orleans, I can confidently say that this is among the best rental options in the city. I won't soon forget sipping a hot cup of coffee from the neighborhood cafe (Il Posto) on the porch swing!

  • The apartment is clean, nicely furnished. Definitely a good value. We stayed during a summer special, so we booked at a dirt-cheap price.

The kitchen is a bit "unfinished" but who stays in to cook when you're in NOLA?? The washer and dryer are in the living room, which is a little odd. The stairs leading to the unit are quite narrow and steep. Definitely kick off the high heels before you try to traverse that staircase.

We had a few issues, but Pat and her husband were easy to communicate with, and addressed/ fixed issues we had. Parking is easy, and the location is convenient.

Some breakfast goodies were left for us on the table, as well as a bottle of wine. Nice touches and nice people.

  • It was an excellent place in an excellent location with a gracious and accommodating host who made our visit feel special. Plenty of room in a clean, updated unit. Would definitely use again and recommend to others.

  • Loved this laid back, comfortable apt in the Garden District! Pat was great, the apt had everything you could want. Close to the street car and restaurants, easy parking, quiet and two awesome bedrooms! A real find for the area. Made my road trip easy....

  • This place is a great place to go to. Nice apartment in a very good location (safe, quiet and nice area). There are also good restaurants close to the apartment. The streetcar is only a few blocks away which is very convenient as it brings you directly to the French Quarter. Pat and her husband (and their nice daughter) were very friendly and helpful hosts who did their best to make our stay enjoyable. I can really recommend this address and should I visit New Orleans again (what I strongly hope!), I would definitively go in Pat's Apartment.

  • This is a fabulous apartment and Pat et al. are the best hosts ever! They put together another bed to accommodate our group of 6. We had everything we needed, including their personal touches (hospitality basket of goodies and fruit, notepads, plenty to read about NOLA). And the location is perfect (Uptown). Taking the St Charles streetcar to our conference in downtown NOLA made the conference bearable and our stay magical. The neighborhood has everything one could hope for - good coffee, restaurants, beautiful architecture and gardens and easy access to everywhere else. Thanks Pat!

My husband and I retired to New Orleans last year after 36 years in New Jersey. We've also lived in Manhattan, Los Angeles, and the Boston Area. We are enjoying our new adventure (and being closer to our grand-daughter!) in NOLA.
