The Space

Welcome to Villa Cascada de Flores, located on the hillside overlooking Chacala Bay. Two bedroom suites are available, each with its own bathroom & balcony. Each has either a Queen bed or King bed and each rents for $75. p/night. It's a 5 minute walk to the beach and your views are spectacular from every room in the Villa! The home was designed by Guadalajara & Sayulita Architect Raul Velazquez and gives amazing panoramic views of the ocean from all rooms and levels. Each room has its own sizeable balcony, each providing breath taking views as well.

It's an easy walk to the beach! Out your front gate, down the driveway, walk a block and you're there in 5 minutes.

The home has 4 levels.
All bedrooms have their own private entrance & the common areas include the main kitchen, garden area, living area, front patio & bar area and the fabulous terrace at the top.

Chacala is 40 minutes drive north of Sayulita. It is the most beautiful settled beach town and area I have been to in Mexico. My family and I have lived and traveled in Mexico since 1978.

Guest Access

Main full kitchen, bar area & dining area, as well as 4th level terrace which becomes their private sunning area and/or reading area. Each bedroom suite is very large and each has a private balcony as well.

Interaction with Guests

Owner resides on 2nd level with her pug and is available to offer help as needed.

The Neighborhood

Both locals and internationals who come to Chacala are generous in their welcoming attitudes. It is easy to form community in Chacala & for that reason visitors keep coming back.

Getting around

If you don't have a car, you often can get a ride with someone who does. It is also easy to use the town taxi van to get to a neighboring town where bigger buses are available for longer trips.

  • Both Jill and her home are extraordinary as the listing's title conveys. Jill was fantastic to work with from booking until the end of our stay. The home's layout, front porch, deck, backyard, and location provided the perfect setting as we were in town to celebrate my daughter's graduation from Chico State. If her house is available, grab it for your stay in Chico.

  • Beautiful home in a great neighborhood! The house was fully stocked and clean. The back yard was amazing! Beds are comfy, good shower, big open floor plan, great attention to detail, including a fireplace and and a high chair for our 1 year old. Home away from home!

  • Our stay was so relaxing and Jill's home is just a perfect place to unwind and do nothing. I particularly enjoyed the back deck in the mornings and evenings for reading and just relaxing. We found it very easy to cook meals in the fully stocked kitchen and enjoyed the short and lovely walk to downtown to shop and eat out. The close proximity to Bidwell Park made it so easy to jump on our bikes for rides through the gorgeous park.

  • We found this downtown Chico home to be just as the owner describes it. The interior of the home has been renovated with every thought given to comfort and easeful living. The lighting that has been added is extraordinary. I've never seen so many ways to light a space. The kitchen is easy to use, the sitting/eating areas range from a large back porch (email hidden) to a dining table, and the bed is very comfortable. As others noted the landscaping around the house is beautiful. The pink dogwoods were in glorious bloom during our visit. Communications with Jill even from her remote location were most helpful in spite of a few problems with the website. She went out of her way to make sure we could get this accomodation. We never saw the tenants who live below but it was good knowing they were there if needed.

The house is centrally located both for vehicle and foot traffic. It takes 5 minutes to walk to an entrance to Lower Bidwell Park with some of the oldest and most majestic oaks and sycamores you will ever see. It's about a 15 minute drive to the beginning of Upper Bidwell Park and 10 minutes to an entrance to Hiway 99 for forays out of the immediate area. While we were away all day each day there, we were very glad to have this lovely place to return to at night to rest and restore ourselves for the next day's hike/outing.

  • This house is a jewel! Beautiful details like exposed cabinets, tinned ceilings, a gas fireplace, window seats looking out on a lovely back deck and garden. Perfect for a couple and a +1 (in our case, my 87 yr old father). Location is excellent - close to downtown, walking trails into the park, Chico State, and easy access to Hwy 99 and Interstate 5. Jill was a lovely hostess and provided excellent info up front, and it is nice having caretakers living just below in case of emergency (we had a question about the shower and they were there in a flash).

  • When we first arrived we were stunned by the beautiful landscaping and inviting curb appeal. The backyard was a wonderland for our little girl, complete with magical discoveries fit for a toddler, well-maintained grass, brightly colored flowers, an awesome deck which our munchkin turned into her personal outdoor play area, and a charming wooden bench. Inside, we found ourselves in awe of how perfectly clean, exquisitely decorated, and warm the home was. The hardwood floors were incredible! We loved the interior so much we never wanted to leave. The rooms were spacious and efficiently organized. Jill thought of everything to make our visit feel like we were home... little bath soaps, a variety of teas and coffee selections, all of the essentials and then some... plenty of thick towels, lush sheets and cozy bedding, and comfortable beds... quality dishware that felt nothing like what you'd expect out of a rental property, and special details throughout the home which will make it an unforgettable vacation for us. The homeowner was also very thorough and provided an email which included everything from what we needed to know about the house and how to work things to restaurant suggestions in the area. She literally thought of everything, and for a family that likes to be immersed in the towns and cities we visit, this was much appreciated. We felt the love and positive energy from this property; Jill has truly made her Chico home a luxury rental house. Thank you so much for opening your home to us, we take with us many lasting memories.

    Hope to be back soon-

  • We enjoyed our visit staying in Jill's home. It is in a great location, easy to walk downtown. The porches and backyard are delightful. Jill and the people she relies on to provide help were very responsive when we asked for assistance.

  • Our second stay in Jill's home was as pleasant as our first, and this time, it felt like we were returning to our second home. Comfortable and convenient, you won't find a better place to stay in Chico.

  • Jill's house is extraordinary! This was the perfect way to visit my alma matter after being away for several years; the house was filled with small details that would make a long stay very comfortable. The house is located in the best neighborhood in town, a few blocks from downtown, the entrance to Bidwell Park and the Saturday Farmer's Market. Jill was a stupendous host and even from a distance made us feel very welcome. I cant wait to return to see backward in full bloom and spent more time on the deck!

  • Jill's home is ideal in every way. Downtown Chico, Bidwell Park, and CSU are all within a few-block stroll. Jill's great kitchen, cozy fireplace, and comfy bed make this a home we are anxious to return to.
