The Space

We are pleased to offer a sunny and spacious room in a unique apartment in the historic area of Plaka. You will be sharing the apartment (140 sqm or 1506 sq.ft.) with my mother (Yoga Instructor) and sometimes with myself or my brother (Thai Massage and Yoga Instructor), which means max. another two people, other than yourselves. Since we all live in the city center we can give you the best tips and advices of what's hot and what's not! Also, please note that there are some evening yoga classes taking place from September to August twice a week and that is in the living room.

The room itself is 22 sqm (236 sq.ft.) and has a cozy little balcony where you can take your breakfast, giving you the feeling that you are situated in the suburbs rather than the city center. It is fully equipped with all necessary appliances and of course air-condition for every room and WiFi. The whole apartment consists of big living room and dining area, separate kitchen with extra dining table, a WC, store room, bathroom with bath tub and 2 extra large bedrooms. There is also a door that isolates your bedroom and the bathroom from the rest of the house for extra privacy. There are two balconies one rear overlooking a green open area and the front one with spectacular views of the Acropolis and the ancient city.

It is 5 minutes walk from the central Syntagma square, from where you can get the metro or bus straight to the airport or the tram to the beach. Also if you travel to the islands, you may take the train to Piraeus port from Monastiraki Station, which is 6 minutes walk. There are a lot of sightseeing literally on your doorstep and loads of amenities all within 5 minutes walk. The area is full of bars and cafes, nice little beautiful shops and galleries as well as some of the best restaurants and traditional tavernas in central Athens. Quiet , safe, residential neighborhood, 2 minutes walk to supermarkets, stores, restaurants, banks and pharmacies. All touristic attractions are here. The Acropolis, the Acropolis Museum, the Herodion Ancient Theatre are just few mins away on foot and reachable through the best walk of the city, through Plaka.

The apartment. despite the fact of being located in the heart of the Ancient ciry and in one of the most vibrant spots of the city, it gives you the chance to truly relax in a pleasant and quite atmosphere. No noise at all! As your bedroom is situated at the back of the apartment overlooking a nice garden, you will feel as sleeping in the countryside!
What makes our apartment unique, is the spot that is situated, its luxury as well as the high standard hospitality offered in it.

  • A charming and quiet room in a very convenient location; You can walk to all the ruins and shopping and restaurants you can imagine. Anastasia and Leena were very nice and really made me feel comfortable. I'm so glad I decided to go on a friend's recommendation and stay here.

  • Loved our apartment and our host - my wife and I were on our honeymoon and enjoyed the privacy, the AC, and the great TV to watch the World Cup!

So close to sightseeing in the city as well! Thanks for a great stay!

  • I really enjoyed my stay. I arrived alone in Athens, so it was lovely to stay in a well located home. I was there just 2 days but would definitely stay here again. I really enjoyed TAF an art gallery bar that was recommended by Anastasia.
I would highly recommend this unique apartment.

  • Our stay in Athens was wonderful thanks to Lela and Takis. Anastasia was away so unfortunately we didn't meet her. The apartment is in a great location, perfect for walking to any of Athens major sites. Additionally the bus from Athens airport drops off very close to the apartment for only 5 euros! Lela and Takis were beyond friendly and we would recommend this place to anyone traveling to Athens! Thank you for being such great hosts!

  • Anastasia's place was great, and she was fantastic about helping my girlfriend and I get our bearings in the area. The location is very convenient, in easy walking distance of both Syntagma and Monastiraki (as well as the Acropolis).

  • My wife and I were in Athens for almost 3 days for our wedding anniversary. Lila was our host during our stay, and honestly speaking we couldn't expect more from her. Our flight landed late and we reached her apartment at around 2am, she was kind enough to stay awake to receive us and show us around the apartment. The apartment is located in the heart of all the tourist areas in Athens. It is right in Plaka. Syntagma square is less than 5 mins walk, which also has a metro station and this is where the 24x7 bus route from the airport starts/ends. Acropolis and Monstiraki are approx. 10 mins walk, which does not feel anything when you see tons of tourists, cafes and prehistoric views around. Lila also suggested us some cafes, restaurants and souvenir shops which turned out to be pretty nice. Monastiraki has a metro station which has a direct service to Piraeus, if need be.

The apartment is spacious, homely and quiet. We never had any noise bother us, even during an afternoon we came home for 'siesta'. The bathroom is just outside of the guestroom and we found it pretty private to use. The room itself is pretty big, with an entrance to the balcony. There is a lonely planet and some other touristy stuff in the room. WiFi was flawless too. We had access to kitchen too, which had an espresso coffee machine and teas.

Lila helped us find directions to some addresses and also gave us some useful tips regarding our itineraries while in Athens.

We highly recommend Anastasia's apartment for couples and families.

  • My second stay with Takis and Leela was again fabulous. They are superb hosts and genuinely friendly people who really looked after me. The large apartment is a completely calm and and serene space and is perfectly located in the heart of Plaka close to the acropolis and some great restaurants. Athens is such a vibrant and excitng city, from the flea market in Monastiraki, the buzzing nightlife in Psirri, to the majesty of the Parthenon and my personal favourite the National Archaeologocal Museum (a must see and well worth the walk!). You'll have a great time.

Hi! I am Anastasia, I come from Athens' city center and have lived in London for 10 years. I can tell you all about "secret" Athens with great choices of food/drink/bars/music/theaters/workshops/gatherings/collectives etc.. I work as an architect and in my spare time i like to cook, climb, go to gigs, see friends, travel and watch movies.
