About this listing
My just renovated 35 sq/m studio is located on the 4th floor in a silent and green courtyard a few steps from the beautiful Landwehrkanal at the border between Nord Neukölln and Berlin-Kreuzberg.
The apartment has high ceiling, wooden-floor, kitchen with electro stove, microwave, boiler, toaster, coffee machine, bathroom with shower, washing machine, a 140/200 bed and cozy bed-sofa.
Free Wifi, TV with DVD player, sound system for Ipod. Fresh towels and fresh bed sheets are included. On demand baby cot and bikes (6€ per day)
Final cleaning is 25€. We can offer you a washing service, € 7.- per machine (iron is also in the flat) and extra cleaning during you stay for, 10€ per hour.
In the apartment you'll find several information about Berlin, maps and guides. And if there is anything missing, just let me know and I will try my best to take care of it. I live in the same building.
Public parking is available just in from of the building.
The apartment is located in the trendy scene rising at the border of Kreuzberg and Nord Neukölln (known as Kreuzkölln) in the middle of the multicultural Berlin scene. Few meter away from the charming Landwehrkanal. “Kreuzköln” is now really booming, with bars, cafes, galleries and restaurants opening almost every week.
The attractive Turkish takes place every Tuesday and Friday along the Canal where you can buy fresh vegetables, fish, meat or eating a delicious kebab watching one of the canal-side live jam sessions.
Three parks are within walking distance (including the former Historical Airport Berlin Tempelhof). You will find all the public transportation that you need in order to get through Berlin. In 2 minutes walk you can reach the metro station U8, U7 and Bus M29 (which is quite special because it passes by the Jewish Museum, Checkpoint Charlie, the Martin Gropius Bau, Potsdamer Platz, the New National Gallery and the KuDamm).
There are many super markets in the area (Edeka, Lidl, Aldi, Karstadt in Hermanplatz (10 min away) a Bio LPG, many kiosks open all night long and many bakeries (one in the building!) cafes and a variety of international restaurants, for each taste and every budget.
Within walking distance from the apartment there are also design shops, vintage stores, book shops, galleries and boutiques.
The atmosphere in the streets of the multicultural neighborhood is very cozy, friendly and alive, much more real and beautiful of other parts of the city.
Here you can experience the real Berlin nightlife in bars and clubs, all in within walking distance: Weserstraße, Hobrechtstrasse, Ohlauerstrasse, Reichenbergerstrasse and Kottbussertor. And during the summer Club Der Visionäre and Badeschiff are really close.
There are lots of cinemas in the area that screen film in orginal language (many even open-air).
I'm sure you'll love it!
AT THE CHECK IN YOU WILL BE ASKED TO PAY THE BERLIN TAX IN CASH
THE BERLIN TAX IS THE 5% OF THE PRICE YOU PAID WITHOUT THE AIRBNB COMMISSION AND THE FINAL CLEANING. IF YOU ARE COMING TO BERLIN FOR WORKING REASON OR STAYING IN BERLIN FOR MORE THEN 3 WEEKS DON'T HAVE TO PAY IT.
THANK YOU!Information for visitors on Berlin’s hotel occupancy tax
What is being taxed?
As of 1 January 2014, the federal state of Berlin will collect a hotel occupancy tax on all overnight stays in hotels in Berlin. A “hotel” includes any type of short-term, paid accommodation, and the tax is due whether or not the hotel guest actually spends the night in the room.
If a room is reserved, but the guest cancels the reservation before arrival, the occupancy tax is not charged.
Who is liable for the tax?
The hotel is responsible for collecting the tax and passing it on to the federal state of Berlin.
How much is the tax?
The occupancy tax is 5% of the price of the hotel room (without extras, such as meals, items from the minibar, the use of hotel services and facilities not included in the room price, etc.).
Please leave the apartment as you found it.
Don't smoke inside for the respect of the non smoking guests coming after you.
It would be very appreciate if you don't use the shoes inside the apartment.
On demand bikes and laundry service. I can book a taxi for you if you need it.
Thank you and enjoy your stay in Berlin!
Absolutely to recommend the Carla's apartment, clean, organized, quiet location. Carla perfect, as every time I chose her apartments.
Très bonne location, près du canal.
Domage que la vue donne sur un gros immeuble.
Très confort, gde sdb...
The apartment is exactly as described, It's very clean and lovely decorated.
We didn't get the chance to meet Carla. We have only exchanged by SMS.
After a little misunderstanding about address to take keys, we found the good bar and the keys and we were kindly welcomed with a drink. It was the beginning of our lovely weekend.
Wifi access is running well but it is a little slow. May be good thing to enjoy vacation... :)
Location is really a good place for discover Berlin
The flat was really nice and clean and precisely as described. Also loved the area it was located in. Carla was a great host, happy to help out with whatever came up, for example when the stove broke she replaced it within a day. Would stay at one of her places again next time!
The apartment was super clean, warm and nice. In an excellent location but couldn't hear the street.
Nice big new bathroom.
It was easy getting the keys from a local bar and no hassles during the stay.
Would recommend it to anyone.
The apartment is as described, it's clean and lovely. The bathroom is awesome - bright and spacious. The bed is fantastic! Very comfortable. The apartment is also well located, but the wifi access was troublesome.
There is wifi but it is sketchy at best. I stayed there 3 nights and it stopped working on every single one of those nights. As someone who relies on wifi for making ongoing travel plans and for keeping in touch with friends and family, this was extremely inconvenient. I think resetting the modem helped, but the modem is located in another apartment!
Also, about the reference to the hotel occupancy tax... It was naive of me to think it didn't apply to me given I wasn't staying in a hotel. So be aware that you will need to pay an extra 5% of your total accom charge due to a government tax. In cash, when you arrive.
All in all it's a lovely little apartment.
