The Space

WikiRome is the best choice for your accommodation in the center of Rome, Whether you are traveling by yourself, with your family or friends: save money, do not give up on comfort, do not waste your precious time on long-route buses . The recently renovated apartment, about 70 square meters, is on the first floor of an early 20th century building with lift, in the central area Prati, A Few minutes' walk from St. Peter's, the Vatican City and the Vatican Museums. Also is WikiRome Few steps from the Metro Station "Ottaviano San Pietro", line A, in an area with plenty of facilities (shops, internet, restaurants, gyms and more). It includes two bedrooms with wardrobes, a living room / dining room with a sofa bed (for one person), independent kitchen, bathroom with shower. There Is a TV, an independent heating system, air conditioning in the bedrooms, to fully-equipped kitchen (fridge, freezer, gas cooker, electric oven, microwave, dishwasher, crockery and cutlery), hair dryer, washing machine, iron and ironing board. Top privacy and comfort. Please Remember That The New Rome Occupancy Tax (2 € per night For Each person for the first 10 days) is by two guests and is not included in the price. Kids under 10 do not pay this tax. May, 10 2011: Added an electric kettle (as Suggested by Jennifer). Now your breakfast can be faster :-) July, 6, 2011: The Telephone Company installs high-speed "only" two months after my request. But Wi-Fi connection works fine. No more sad smelly Those sessions in the Internet Cafes! Aug 2, 2011: Added to Pack-And-Play baby crib. Now you do not need to carry your own one from home.
24-12-2011- New opening: MacDonald's. They closed the restaurants in Piazza Navona and Pantheon, but they open one here. Very cool.

Interaction with Guests

I always welcome my guests at my place, but I respect their privacy. I want to be sure that they feel at home and that they contact me in case they need help or informations.

The Neighborhood

I love this quarter: Prati. I live here since the 90's and I always find what I need without taking a car.

Getting around

Metro station "Ottaviano San Pietro" is only 1 block far, and even many buses too, to get easily to every place in Rome. But you can walk, too: Trastevere or Navona Square are only a 20-25 minutes' walk far.
Sorry, no parking included. But you can park in the street (free in White Lines, billed in Blue Lines) or in the Trionfale parking, beneath the Market Hall.
From the Airport, taxies should apply a fixed price of 48€. But you can get by metro, too, from Termini Station (you can reach the Station from the Airport by bus Terravision, 4€; or by Leonardo Express train, 16€)

Overall Guest Satisfaction

Check In
  • Roberto is a great host, he explained everthing very well and the area is great.
Well situated, from here you can easily travel around the city.
The appartment was nice and clean, bigger then I expected and nicely decorated. One minor point, it's a little noisy because of the noise on the street at night. Tram and garbage.

  • The apartment looks just as it does in the pictures. It was clean and had everything we could possibly need during our stay. The location is ideal for sightseeing. It is just a 10 minute walk to the Vatican. All of the main attractions are accessible by foot, metro or bus. The metro station is a 2 minute walk from the apartment. There are some good restaurants nearby, as well as supermarkets. Roberto was very helpful with directing us to good local places to eat.

Roberto was a great host. Our flight was delayed by several hours but this was no problem for him. He stayed in contact and met us at the apartment. There was a small problem with the tv and Roberto fixed it straight away. He was always accessible and answered questions very promptly. I would definitely return here.

  • Roberto was a great host. From the very first enquiry he responded very quickly and was and provided us with lots of useful information. The apartment was clean cosy and provided us with everything we needed. The location was fantastic with easy links to all the main sites and even when we did take cabs, it was so central we hardly paid anything.
I would have no hesitation recommending this apartment to anyone visiting Rome.

  • We came for the Rome Tennis Masters event and stayed in Roberto's apartment for 4 nights. The apartment is very well furnished and ideally situated for us as it was close to Ottaviano Metro for journeys into Rome Centre and a ten minute bus ride or half hour walk from Foro Italico for the tennis. It was also only a stroll to St Peter's square and the Vatican. We really enjoyed our stay there and Roberto was very helpful, giving us ideas about nearby restaurants, bus and Metro apps to check times and was available if we had any queries. His English is also excellent which helped for us who didn't have much Italian.

We would definitely recommend the host, apartment and location. Thanks Roberto! Ciao!

Thank you Paul, you are right! It is all written in the "manual" but one map would be much better and will surely add one to the sheets, ciao!

  • I am very happy to share my recent experience at Wikirome.
Host: Roberto was very kind and highly responsive. I had several questions before and during our stay. Roberto's responses were very prompt and he provided very helpful answers. He even called a museum to see if it was open!! You cannot ask for a better host. When we had a little issue with a taxi driver, Roberto really spoke up and was quite on our side to help us out.
Location. This is in my opinion one of the best. The metro is a 2 min walk, Vatican 10 min; buses in front and for a large metropolitan city quite an acceptable level of noise. We had no issue
The apt is quite convenient with large bedrooms and other conveniences as described. Quite clean and well maintained

I will strongly endorse the place for anyone

  • It was a pleasure staying at Roberto's apartment - it's in a good location, just around the corner from the metro line and a great fresh food market. The apartment was clean and tidy and had everything we needed. There was a bit of street noise and some early garbage collection noises. We found Roberto to be very friendly and helpful and we were particularly impressed with how proactive he was in communicating with us and providing prompt replies to any queries he had. Would certainly recommend WikiRome to other travellers.

  • Roberto was a life saver when our other accommodation in Rome was cancelled last minute. The apartment was perfect and met our needs perfectly. It's proximity to public transit was really great. Thanks!

I'm not from Rome but I I love the history and the past of this city. I work in a used books store and I write plays for theater and cinema. I opened WikiRome 2 years ago and I like meeting other citizens of this small, big world.
