The space

This studio is located on the same landing as our apartment, but it is independent. It is under the roofs, on the 5th floor (the elevator will take you to the 4th floor, then it will have to climb a floor by feet), and is about 15m2 on the ground. It is composed of a main room with small kitchenette, as well as a room of water with toilet. It overlooks Place Sathonay, a small square at the foot of the slopes of the Croix-Rousse, in the peninsula between the Rhone and the Saone. The Place des Terreaux with the Town Hall and the Museum of Fine Arts, as well as the famous "fresco of Lyonnais", are 2 minutes on foot. And during the festival of lights, around December 8, you are in the heart of the event! The area is very well connected by bus C3, C13 (coming directly from Part-Dieu railway station), C18, S6 (going up to La Croix-Rousse), 31 (going to Perrache station), metro " Hôtel de Ville "and VéloV and Autolib 'stations just at the foot of the apartment. Its large window faces west (overlooking the hill of Fourvière and the Croix-Rousse, and magnificent light in the setting sun). In the lively district, you will find numerous small shops, many very good restaurants, and nice walks to walk on the banks of the Rhone or Saône (we are right in the middle of the peninsula)! The studio is equipped with a real bed in 140, with a comfortable mattress and a warm duvet. We provide sheets, gloves, towels and toiletries. You will also find a wardrobe with hangers, blankets, two large umbrellas if needed, a broom, an iron and ironing board, board games, several countries for the catch, and mosquito catches (it can be useful in summer) ... The kitchenette is composed of a sink, a fridge and 2 electric plates. You will find plates, glasses, bowls, cutlery, pots and pans, as well as a kettle and coffee maker. We leave at your disposal coffee, tea, herbal teas and sugar so that you can prepare yourself a good breakfast! Finally, the bathroom includes toilet, shower, washbasin, towels, gloves, shampoo, shower gel, hairdryer and toiletries. You will also find in the studio books, reviews, plans and tourist brochures, an English-French dictionary, enough to write ... We will send you a wi-fi code, which will appear in your booking confirmation. Use the different maps of the city and transport, as well as informative documents about businesses and activities in Lyon, good deals, loyalty cards and coupons: you can use everything! To locate the studio: Lyon-Paris 2h (TGV) Lyon-Avignon 1h (TGV) Lyon-Grenoble 1h (TGV) Train station: Lyon Part-Dieu 30mn by bus Airport: Lyon Saint-Exupéry (Rhone Express shuttle to Part-Dieu railway station then bus C3): about 1h30 We wish you a pleasant stay with us; do not hesitate to call us if you have any questions! See you soon! Marie & François The Sathonay square, on which the studio is located, is the prettiest square in Lyon. There is a family atmosphere, with its bicycles, petanque players, children playing in the square, cafes all around ... The little extra: at the bottom of our building, a toy library has just opened! Do not overload yourself: sheets and towels are provided! Upon arrival, we will give you the key of the studio and the badge to enter the building. Then you will be autonomous, make yourself at home! We remain at your disposal (door next door) if you miss anything or if you want more information about the area. It is an extremely busy and very good neighborhood. On the square you will find several cafes and restaurants, a pharmacy, a bakery, a small casino for shopping, a wine cellar, a toy library, the town hall of the 1st arrondissement and the best glacier in Lyon. language". The bus C3 is direct from the station of the Part-Dieu. Stop at "Terreaux La Feuillée" and go up the rue Hippolyte Flandrin in the direction of the trees in the distance: you arrive on the place Sathonay! The door of our building (No. 5) is on your right, just after the Café de la Place. The intercom is in the name of "Gaillard-Bobin" (the button at the top).

First and foremost, this room is in a VERY nice location in Lyon. However, this aspect of the apartment is the only good part... Upon arrival, the window seemed to have been left open all day. As the unit is on the top floor, the room was at least 85-90 degree Fahrenheit. In the heat of Lyon in August this was very underwhelming and non-accommodating. In fact, we immediately set our luggage down and went to the ice cream place down the street as we were sweating so much. Online in the description, the owners indicated that Wifi and a fan are provided, upon arrival we quickly realized this was not the case. The Wifi was only accessible from the toilet, literally. The owners had even had written down the username and password for another local Wifi network, which unfortunately also failed. From what it seemed like, the apartment's Wifi connection came through the neighboring apartment, which the owner's reside in. We found a small desk fan in the closet the size of one's hand. When we plugged it in, it immediately began shaking and rattling, so much that if one didn't hold it, it would rattle off the table. We were afraid it would start a fire. The fan blew out little air and was incredibly loud. We left the blind over the window to prevent the heat from coming in yet the apartment still heated up. My cosmetics and deodorant even began to melt! On our second day, I emailed the owner to ask for a working fan, to which she replied she wouldn't be able to get me one, but to "try putting my cosmetics and deodorant in the refrigerator"... Overall, if I was asked, I would not recommend this apartment. The price is great, but a fan, a heavy-duty one at that, is a must in the heat and the apartment's top-floor location. We were very disappointed that the owners weren't more accommodating. Lyon is an amazing city though, just beware of where you rent!

François and Marie are warm, welcoming, very positive people and renting a place from them was a great experience. Marie's communication prior to my arrival was always prompt and helpful, and she and François did everything they could to ensure that I was happy and comfortable in the apartment. As for the apartment itself, it's small but comfortable and the big window with its amazing view is a great feature. The location, though, is the star here. This was an amazing place to base myself while in Lyon! I was able to walk to most places in the city quickly and easily. I wouldn't hesitate to stay here again!

Good neighborhood. Tiny apartment. Not for tall people. My husband hit his head on the ceiling too many times. Overall OK.

Due to some train issues, we were only in Lyon for about 16 hours total, but Francois & Marie were great hosts for that time. They were flexible as I kept them updated with the issues we were having. The apartment itself is great. The view from the little window is absolutely breathtaking. The location is right by plenty of great little restaurants. Overall, despite our short visit, my husband said Lyon is probably his favorite city we visited in France and I am sure staying at this lovely apartment in such a great location is a part of that! Would definitely recommend to anyone.

I was pleasantly surprised with the ease and efficiency of being able to instantly reserve the space within 24 hours of arriving in Lyon. The apartment was super cute, comfortable and had a beautiful and charming view (from the top window) of the Fourvriere <3. The location is perfect. We were able to enjoy watching locals play boules in the park out front and drink aperos at the many options of cafes nearby. Being not too far from View Lyon and Hotel de Ville, we were able to walk and enjoy those most beautiful parts of Lyon (in my opinion). Thank you to Marie for allowing us to feel independent but welcomed.

Marie met us at the door to the room after buzzing us in the outside doors. She was friendly, but fine to leave us on our own. She told us to let her know if we needed anything or had questions and was kind enough to give my daughter lots of Kleenex for her cold. She warned us that due to the thick walls, wi fi would be sketchy. The wifi never worked at all. The room is as advertised, a cute, tiny, independent space with all one needs. The location is fabulous in the croix rouge, walkable to everything. uber to the Lyon part dieu station 7 euros and airport train for 15 euros. Really a beautiful city, felt perfectly safe walking around at night as a lone woman. I would definitely stay here again.
