Dear Margaret! You are definitely right, it's a boat and we do hope that it is very clear in our description that you can expect an experience of an old wooden sailing ship rather than a luxury stay. It has steep stairs, the noises spread out quite easily, there are locks in the private cabins that you can use from the insight but there are no outside ones from the safety reasons, you need to access all the spot, also below the deck, in case of emergency. The boat has 83 years old and is being restored by a group of volunteers using traditional techniques creating a small, cosy, sustainability-oriented community so it really depends what are you into and if you find this kind of things interesting and want to become a part of it or support:) Also the opinion on the size of the cabin is quite relative. It has two wooden benches to store the luggage and quite a big shelter under the sink, it's out most luxurious cabin. But we are aware of the fact that Hawila is a place that maybe, no matter how hard we try to make it cozy and welcoming, will not meet the expectations and preferences for some of the guests, which is completely fine and normal:) I'm just sorry to hear you didn't really enjoy.
When it comes to the metro station is literally 8 minutes away:)
