Welcome to New Orleans! The city's walkable historic core, including Faubourg Marigny, the French Quarter, Warehouse and Arts District, Magazine Street, the Garden District, Audubon Park and Zoo and St. Charles Avenue, are flourishing anew and eager to welcome visitors once again.
Whether for the jazz, the nightlife, the hopping scene, the food, the culture, or for that distinctive joie de vivre, it's all within less than a miles walk away.
The Loft is located on the border of a "Tale of Two Cities" The Bywater" and "The Marigny". The Loft can accommodate up to 2 guests meaning I have 1 real queen bed. It also has a cozy kitchenette for your personal use! This is an efficiency apartment just for you. This apartment is located in the rear of the building ground level NOT upstairs.
It is a leisurely 20 minute walk or 15 minute bike ride to Frenchman Street. As you stroll toward your destination to the French Quarters, you will pass by more than 5 watering holes as well as a Walgreens (in case you get a headache). What the heck, buy the Advils now. You're going to need them. Really. Lol.
Also McDonald's and Subway are near by as well as the neighborhood grocery store which carriers a variety of things from Po-Boys to Merlot or Jack Daniels if you please not to mention cereal and milk. Oh yes and don't forget about good music, theater and yoga classes - all within a 6 block stroll.
The Loft Bywater-Marigny was a perfect place to stay for our trip to New Orleans. It was clean and comfortable. Ruby was a great host and left us a very nice welcoming present! The location was convenient and the accommodations were great. The checkin and checkout was so simple and Ruby was available to answer any questions immediately! We especially appreciated her list of local food and sights to see. I would definitely stay with Ruby again!
Rubys place was absolutely amazing it was just what I needed especially based off of what I wanted to do and since I wanted to be near the French Quarter her place was adorable and her smile can light up a room she not only greeted me with utter kindness and a bottle of wine she offered me a ride to my destination on her son's birthday so I want to just show you what kind of person she is . She communicated with me so well via text and by phone calls . I have no complaints except that I wish I would have gotten a chance to go out with her and her son and just shared more time in the area I did try out the breakfast brunch place called Elizabeths and it was phenomenal great flavor, welcoming servers and decor is very inspiring. "Be nice or leave" the motto I saw everywhere. The French quarter is a walking distance wear comfortable shoes! I learned the hard way. Overall great experience great place for me and my budget. Great time! Bus was a 10 min ride to my destination and for a day pass 3 bucks. Just check schedule doesn't run like public transportation in Chicago. (im from Chicago)
Ruby was so friendly and welcoming. She was a great host and really added to our NOLA experience! She included a list of recommendations in the neighborhood and we had a great time trying out of few of her suggestions. The suite was in a great location and we would definitely stay there again.
Ruby was a very fabulous host! She left us wine when we first arrived and took us out for oysters and margaritas! We recommend her space and her as a host :-)
The Loft Bywater - Marigny is a great place! Starting from a fantastic location (locally focused, which is important to us - meaning, staying in a local neighborhood to experience life in that particular city outside of the tourist-centric areas), to a super comfy bed, small kitchenette and more importantly, getting to meet our host, Ruby, and the other airbnber's staying upstairs = just such a positive experience and highly recommended for a stay in NOLA. The place is in a good neighborhood, close to other community neighborhoods - the Marigny and the Bywater - with the added ease of getting to the French Quarter in a leisurely 15-20 minute walk. Fyi, we found a local bike rental place right around the corner on St. Claude (which we didn't get to use) for future renters/visits. Ruby is the perfect host and we felt quite special to be treated to her delicious, homemade red beans and rice! Thanks again for everything.
Ruby was a phenomenal host. She was very easy to get in touch with and even left us some wine and a gift basket on arrival. She was very helpful giving us brunch recommendations and even invited us over for homemade jumbalaya! She's kind, caring, obvious sense of humor and full of life! You won't be disappointed. She'll welcome you into her home as if you long term friends. Even the apartment is adorable with cute little signs telling you where things are.
Will definitely hit her up on our next trip to Nola! Also, be sure to check out St. Coffee around the corner! Great for a caffeine fix and vegan food (if you're into that sorta thing).
We had a great time in New Orleans and in the Loft! Ruby was very responsive and communicative. We arrived pretty late at night but Ruby had everything organized and we had no problems. When we noticed one of the shower knobs looked fragile Ruby took care of it the same day!
Location is pretty good overall - lots of cool trendy places within 5-10 minutes walking. Immediate surroundings look a bit beat up but like everyone else who left a review we felt safe and had no issues.
I had an amazing time in New Orleans, and Ruby's loft was a big reason why! I arrived late Friday night to a complimentary bottle of wine. The loft is tidy and well cared-for, and in a great location -- walking distance from the Marigny, St. Claude bars, the Quarter, and Armstrong Park. I only got to speak to Ruby in person briefly, but she's an extremely gracious host and very accommodating. I spent a lot of time away from the apartment while in town (because why wouldn't you? It's NOLA! There are things to do!), but having this as my home base really was incredible. I'm thankful Ruby is renting out this place, and I would recommend it to any friends going to New Orleans.
Ruby's place was fantastic! It was only a short walking distance to the French Quarter and was very conveniently located for the price. Ruby was so kind to welcome us with a bottle of wine and was responsive to all of our questions. Would definitely stay here again!
Ruby was amazing! She had red beans and rice on the stove when we walked in, she drove us to the Quarter on our first night and she gave us a room to stay the night before we booked. She's a lovely woman with a big heart and a beautiful home. Your stay in NOLA will not be complete without staying with her.
