About This Listing
Welcome to New Orleans! The city's walkable historic core, including Faubourg Marigny, the French Quarter, Warehouse and Arts District, Magazine Street, the Garden District, Audubon Park and Zoo and St. Charles Avenue, are flourishing anew and eager to welcome visitors once again.
Whether for the jazz, the nightlife, the hopping scene, the food, the culture, or for that distinctive joie de vivre, it's all within less than a miles walk away.
The Loft is located on the border of a "Tale of Two Cities" The Bywater" and "The Marigny". The Loft can accommodate up to 2 guests meaning I have 1 real queen bed. It also has a cozy kitchenette for your personal use! This is an efficiency apartment just for you. This apartment is located in the rear of the building ground level NOT upstairs.
It is a leisurely 20 minute walk or 15 minute bike ride to Frenchman Street. As you stroll toward your destination to the French Quarters, you will pass by more than 5 watering holes as well as a Walgreens (in case you get a headache). What the heck, buy the Advils now. You're going to need them. Really. Lol.
Also McDonald's and Subway are near by as well as the neighborhood grocery store which carriers a variety of things from Po-Boys to Merlot or Jack Daniels if you please not to mention cereal and milk. Oh yes and don't forget about good music, theater and yoga classes - all within a 6 block stroll.

Ruby is great! She is a warm and welcoming Lady! The place was great and bigger than I imagined. I had a great stay and was close to the Quarter where I spent most of my time. I enjoyed the 15 min walk there as I got to see other parts of the city. There was also a bottle of wine when I arrived and that was extra sweet! I loved this spot and Ruby is a great host! :-)
This felt like a second home, and more importantly, made me feel like I was an authentic New Orleanian. Ruby was available for advice if needed, but otherwise left me to my own devices. It's a quiet little neighborhood, and if you are looking for an authentic NOLA experience, it's a great part of town, just slowly getting drawn into some of the gentrification of Bywater and Marigny, but still on the fringe so it doesn't feel totally yuppie yet. Get there fast though, because it looks like things are changing quickly.
Rubys house was great , really close to Frenchmen st , Marigny and French quarter (about 15 mins walking or so) and the bustop is literally a minute away from the front door. The actual apt is very cozy and Ruby was a very kind host (left us many helpful things like bus schedules and a list of things to do around the area) as well as letting us check in the middle of the night and leave a little later than 11am.
There's also some food spots and a little market place where they sell fresh produce and different types of food close by. Overall I'd recommend this highly of you want to be close to the French quarter and in the marigny area.
If your not used to living in or around downtown type areas you might think it is sketchy but honestly it felt pretty safe there, would recommend to la or Oakland people . Quiet and friendly neighborhood
Awesome experience with Ruby on Airbnb. Especially for first-timers :)

About the Host, Ruby
Hello world. I am a Louisiana lady with a lot of spice. From a small town but been in New Orleans for over 20 years. I work in retail and love fashion. I also work as a movie extra from time to time. I have a passion for this city and all the wonderful food, people, music and fun. Everyday, I can't wait to embrace a new exciting outing (concert in the park, festival or just strolling in the French Quarter even riding the Ferry at sunset is an awesome experience (viewing the City as mirrored through the mighty Mississippi). I love traveling, gardening and partying in a "grown-up" classy way. I can't wait to share my refreshing fun-loving spirit with my guests. As we say here in the "Big Eazy" Laissez les Bon temps rouler! Hope to see you soon.
