Unfortunately, when we saw the location of this property we decided not to stay in the apartment. We didn't know, (as it was not in the description) that the apartment was on a fourth floor and there was no elevator. The distance between each floor and ceiling appeared to be greater than 8 feet, and if I remember correctly there was an additional ground floor. Cusco is about 10,000 feet high, and most people (as we did) travel from Lima by plane which is at sea level. Many get sick from altitude sickness (as we eventually did). To walk up 4-5 flights of stairs to bring our bags up and each time we left and came back to the apartment may have killed us from a heart attack. (I am 69 and my wife is 63). Furthermore the apartment is not a good neighborhood. I would never have reserved the apartment if I had known this. At the very least the owner should reveal that the apartment is on a furth flor in a building without an elevator.

We had a great stay. Communication and check in went smoothly, the apartment was spacious, and we were even able to leave our belongings for a few days while we hiked the Inka Trail. While it's not super close to the plaza, it was an easy (and cheap! ~5 soles / $1.50) cab ride. Having laundry (bring your own detergent) was an added bonus after all of the hiking. Only downside was that it was advertised as 3 bedrooms but we were only given access to 2 of them- still ok since there were enough beds for the three of us.

They were helpful and nice. The apartment was lovely. The apt was close bough to walk to food and other places you might like to visit. They had their mother meet us and show us around the apt and when we left she helped us get a taxi and negotiated a decent cab fare for us. very nice experience and

Great communication with host and his mom (pt of contact). They were very kind and welcoming. Check in and out was a breeze. Location is ok, It's about a 20 minute walk to plaza de armas. 10 minutes to an artisan market. The surrounding area can get noisy (2 elementary schools during the day, cars honking at night) but noise is a given in cusco - bring your earplugs! Apartment is spacious and has the basics. Wi-fi was reliable. Just note the apartment is on the 4th floor (no elevator) in case you have trouble with stairs. For us it was good practice for all the stairs/incline at Machu picchu. All in all, a great stay in Cusco!

The hosts were very accommodating, letting us store some bags in the apartment when we did a 4 day excursion. They were easy to communicate with, and get a hold of if any issues arose. The apartment was spacious and just as the pics showed. It was perfect for our needs. I would recommend this place and them as hosts.

This apartment worked out great for our family of 4. It feels well-cared for, like the owners keep investing in it (a stove that easily lights, good quality tv, good water heater, washer, etc.) It feels safe and secure, and is not too noisy being set back in the apartment complex away from the very busy, noisy street. It is a 3rd floor apartment with no elevator which was no problem for us, but some guests may wish to know this. The neighborhood is a bit of a food desert, with a circuitous walk to a larger grocery store, but across the street are some small markets for water, dry goods, etc., and a panaderia with excellent empanadas. The walk to the city center and plaza takes about 20 minutes, and a cab ride costs 4 or 5 soles (a couple dollars). We liked this apartment a lot and highly recommend it.

We had a lovely stay at Fabio and Angelita's place in Cusco. It's a large, modern apartment about a half hour walk from Plaza to Armas and maybe a 10-15 minute walk from the bus station. Shower is very good and hot (instant on, even!), Internet is stable and fast for South America, and the apartment itself is comfortable. There's a washing machine and the kitchen is well supplied with utensils, pots, etc. It's a good place to stay if you want to get a little bit away from the hustle-and-bustle or from the overwhelming touristy-ness of the area next to Plaza de Armas, but not so far you'd ever consider taking a taxi. The apartment seems to have changed a little bit since the pictures were taken, but nothing substantial (e.g. there's no door between the laundry room and kitchen anymore). Furniture and all are as-represented. Bed is very comfortable. This is an ex "lived in" apartment, so it has that cozier feel that many such apartments have (as opposed to those which were purchased specifically for AirBnB and similar).

FABIO E ANGELITA User Profile
