About this listing
**Looking for 4-5 night stay for Labor Day
One room in spacious three bedroom apartment. It is likely that only one other person will be there while you are, possibly + a small 45 lb (very well behaved) black labrador. Central location in lovely Brooklyn Heights.
This listing is for 1 bedroom in our 3 bedroom, 2 bathroom space on the 1st floor (one up from ground level) of a 19th century building in historic Cobble Hill. As you can see from the photos, the entire apartment is nicely furnished, cozy, clutter-free, nicely lit, spacious and there are always fresh flowers. Please note that a dog lives in the apartment but will not be present during your visit.
The bedroom that this listing is for a large bedroom that is also connected to the main bath.
Our living room/kitchen is an open format with a kitchen island and dining table. The living area has two large, street-facing windows, and the apartment gets nice light. You are welcome to use our spices, kitchen supplies, etc. Please note that there is no TV in the apartment, but there is wi-fi which we will happily share.
There is also a backyard, which is the width of three row houses, and has a grill and outdoor furniture.
The apartment is in a great location, right on the border of Brooklyn Heights and Cobble Hill. It is close to DUMBO and the Brooklyn and Manhattan bridges, and is a stone's throw from the new Brooklyn Bridge Park, and a 5-10 minute walk from 2,3,4,5,F,G,A,C and R subways-- so you can quickly get to any neighborhood in Manhattan or Brooklyn.
The Governor's Island Ferry leaves from the dock that is just 2 blocks from our house. The other ferries and water taxis to Manhattan leave from the dock in DUMBO which is a 20 minute walk away. The East River Ferry can even take you up to Williamsburg in 5 minutes flat.
We are right on the border of Brooklyn Heights/Cobble Hill, and both neighborhoods are equally gorgeous and charming. Both historic neighborhoods, they are filled with brownstones, tree lined streets, little parks, cobble stone streets tucked in unexpected places, even water access. Lots of movies are filmed on our area blocks, and its no surprise why-- the area is lovely.
The Brooklyn Heights Promenade and its gorgeous views of Manhattan are a short 7 minute walk away. We are also close to the Red Hook, Carroll Gardens, Boerum Hill and DUMBO neighborhoods.
SHOPPING (GROCERIES TOO):
One of our favorite things about this neighborhood is the shopping. There's an Urban Outfitters and a Barney's CoOp 2 blocks up Atlantic Ave, and Smith Street, Court Street and Montague Streets have lots of small boutiques, antique stores and specialty shops.
If you like to cook, there are amazing butchers and cheese shops and bakeries and middle eastern shops that sell in bulk-- even one of the city's few Trader Joe's is just 3 blocks up on Atlantic. If cooking is your thing, you could definitely have a great time doing so here. We also have a fully stocked kitchen that you are welcome to use to create your meals. (We even have a dishwasher.)
On Saturdays, the outdoor Brooklyn Flea in Fort Greene is a 30 minute walk away, faster by bus. Prospect Park and all of Park Slope's shops and brownstones are a 30 minute walk. There are farmer's markets here in our neighborhood on both Saturday (Borough Hall) and Sunday (Cobble Hill Park).
There are GREAT cafes, coffee shops and brunch spots in a 2 block radius that make for a delicious local (and authentic) Brooklyn breakfast.
Smith Street is known as Brooklyn's Restaurant Row and boasts all kinds of dining from casual to fancy, local to international cuisine. The area has many great places to eat, and we have lots of favorite spots. We are happy to provide a list of our top choices/recommendations if you are interested.

Oh, there is a washer & dryer that takes quarters in the shared building next door.

Absolutely fantastic! Highest recommendation. Easy walking distance to shops, restaurants, and the train. Beautiful home decor!
We couldn't ask for a better AirBnB experience. Jackie and Sebastian are excellent at communicating, and their apartment is wonderful---a stylish, comfortable, quiet refuge in one of our favorite Brooklyn neighborhoods. The room was clean, comfortable, and furnished with fresh flowers and treats! It was great to have 1 1/2 baths available too. We would definitely stay here again!
This place was perfect! We walked in to fresh flowers, cookies and a very kind note that made us feel very welcome. The decor is fantastic, the whole place has a very warm feeling. The room was a great size for two people, and the whole place was exceedingly clean.
Location is great. The surrounding neighborhood is gorgeous (and full of great pubs/restaurants), and major subway stations were just a short walk away.
Communication beforehand was great. Jackie responded very quickly to all of our messages and always made us feel welcome.
Overall a wonderful experience!
Great experience and location! We were greeted by delicious complimentary treats--INCREDIBLE. Had some trouble figuring out the shower drain situation, but a quick google search remedied that. The room was a good size for two people, but the best thing was the location. Street side parking was never more than a few blocks away and the proximity to the neighborhood restaurants (which were GREAT) was even better. A quick and peaceful walk to peir number 6 of the Brooklyn Bridge park made evening relaxation a breeze.
Would recommend the spot to anyone. While the air conditioning didn't quite cool the room completely, the experience was very good!
Jackie & Sebastian's place was perfect, tastefully decorated yet uncluttered. The accommodations were everything I had hoped for in their bright and inviting apartment in Brooklyn. If i didn't already have a full schedule, I would've really enjoyed hanging-out there. I'm sorry that I never got to meet Jackie and Sebastian since they were not at home. But I really appreciate the excellent communication regarding the key pick-up. She also left clear and thoughtful note(s). I felt very welcome - much nicer than a hotel stay. My first Airbnb experience could not have been more positive!
I highly recommend staying with Jackie and Sebastian. Their home is beautifully decorated, with old prints on the walls and interesting books on the shelves, down to small touches like the jar of flowers on the bedside table. The bathroom, kitchen and common areas are also lovely and well-kept, and the location is very convenient for most subway lines. Jackie and Sebastian are open and easy to talk to, whether about television shows, card games or recommendations for what to do in the area.
Me and my girlfriend spent in Jackie's, Sebastian's and Poppy's (sweet dog) lovely apartment nice 8 days and nights. I would like to strengthen that we enjoyed our stay in New York also because of our nice hosts as well. Jackie and Sebastian are very friendly and nice people, we went very well together, they have a very nice apartment with a beautiful dog, the flat is full of fresh flowers. I would definitely recommend this apartment to everybody who likes to spend days in Manhattan and nights in Brooklyn and who wants to have easygoing hosts! :) Enjoy!
